It's certainly worth several visits due to it being a working site rather than just a static museum. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great 2022.
@@wellchuffedrailways Its because I was part of the team, on the refurbishment. And the side door to the kitchen was open a lot of the time and 1000 was literally 5 metres away. It was a dream job for me has I'm a rail enthusiast myself.
What class loco was it? Looks an 85 or poss earlier? The 4CIG (I think) emu takes me back to journeys on those daily in and out of Waterloo with that interim SWT livery applied as they took over from NSE
Hi David, I'm unsure how many locos are actual runners as a lot of preservation groups store their locos at the Roundhouse for work to be carried out on them. The roundhouse is a fully functioning maintenance depot as well as a museum. Indeed Tornado recently visited for service work and the class 89 is due on the mainline soon. I think it's great the Roundhouse is still operational rather than just a museum. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
It's a heritage railway museum so they are a lot more relaxed than the day to day railways. Some of the operators do have open days though. Thanks for watching and commenting it's much appreciated. 😀

Remember they use to have some brilliant open days in BR Days….went through the double tenders onto the Flying Scotsman…..
Can imagine it was a bit more open in BR days. Thanks for watching.
Very interesting Rick. Lots to see there by the looks of it.

Thanks Neil, the voice over thing is easier than I expected. It's handy as I tend to forget what to say. Merry Christmas ⛄

Classic 👍
Cheers and merry Christmas and a happy new year. 🎅
The reason 1000 is covered in dust, is because of all the work
Done In the refit of the kitchen, at York museum in 2021.
How do I know?

From what I remember the one in intercity executive livery was an 82. Quite a collection there and nice to see the emus thanks for watching!
@@wellchuffedrailways an 82, that’s very rare. Great video thanks for the interesting facts.
You're welcome, we are at Kendal model railway exhibition this weekend and hope to film at the Crewe Heritage Centre soon.
You never spoke about the class 89
Sorry Ashton guess a return visit is due this year. Thanks for watching. Cheers Rick.
How many of the locos are actual runners? There seems to a lot of dust on some of them.

How do you manage to get into a railway workshop.. it is almost impossible in India
