I've had the Krentz for almost 2 years now. I find I need to adjust it in the spring and fall, when the humidity changes.

My Modulator arrived last week...a WONDERFUL piece of technology. I live 300 feet above sea level on the west coast of Scotland and the Krentz performs just as promised.

Thanks for sharing ! Reading instructions could be very... instructive though😂

Thanks for doing this review of my dads Modulator! If you watch his video titled "finer points" you'll see that the placement is very different then the German absorber. You might try placing it below the widest point of the lower bout. The video can tell you more.

Hello son of Krentz! My teacher Nabi introduced me to the modulator and I thus have told me studio (selling over 10 worldwide in 1 year) - would love to interview your father - could he send me an email please ??

Also, some cellos need either two regular eliminators or a krentz and a regular. This is rare and often needed on anqitue cellos or newer

Hey ! Thanks for the video ! This Krentz device seems awesome, 150$ though, I am wondering if I could basically get a similar result making my own with a pair of magnets and some felt stick to it. At least to get rid of the wolf note.

Wondering the same, wonder how the sound quality compares

I thought with the magnet system your tone retained it's brightness on the problem notes, the resonator seemed to make the tone dull and lower in volume on those notes

It does, he skipped the instructions on how to properly and effectively use the modulator.

Also the lupus X which is glued on to the belly of the cello is great but as you said people need to look out for if you change your tailpiece the position of the sound post and sometimes switching from a French to a Belgian Bridge also very rarely Different Strings can change or increase the wolf tone for example I had a string set which actually changed the wolf by a whole step which again which is why I love the krentz due to the user-friendly nature of it and as a cello player it is not uncommon for us to try different tailpiece has different strings different Bridges and sound post positions

Wow. Why haven't I stumbled upon your channel earlier? Great videos on wolf tones. Thank you so much.

Hi Jonathan, I'm curious where you managed to pick up your Krentz Eliminator in the EU, or did you order it from the States? I was hoping to get one over here rather than have to order international.

I know that not every solution to a problem works for every cello, but I would've been disappointed if this hadn't worked for you. 🙂

I had a pesky wolf tone on my G string. When I switched to a different brand of string, the wolf tone disappeared. Is that possible?

I‘m distracted by the strings 😁... are these Perpetuals?
Anyways seems like a great solution

    Thank for those vids Jonathan
Did you see the last Video of maestro Edgar Russ where he changes a bridge of an older Cello and while checking the new sound they decided to remove the wolftone eliminator.
Does that work because of the new bridge.
I might should ask Edgar but it just came to my mind now.

Strings, the bridge, tail piece and sound post all can change the position of the wolf as well as how loud or soft it is, many times an eliminator will be removed from a cello to hear what it sounds like, sometimes wolf eliminators change or dampen the sound of our cello
So to hear what the cello sounds like naked is usually what we do, then add back wolf elim

Yeah, lorentz. It works quite well for me too. Would you consider doing more video about the tonal adjustment aspect of it as well. Dr Krentz says that by moving it to different position, beside controlling how much wolf note is being controlled, the instrument may response differently, i.e. quicker response on C, more volume, etc.
Your strings definitely look like Perpetual. Silk winding looks like one I just got, but need to see peg end silk to see which version it is. www.pirastro.com/public_pirastro/pages/en/Perpetual-00001/
And may I ask about the measurements of your cello? string length, stop length, back length, upper bout, lower bout, c bout width?
