I recently got to test ride the RnineT and I absolutely loved it. I also got to ride the R1200RS. The RS is a more versatile bike and per the BMW mechanic much less costly to maintain than the RnineT. The thing is the RnineT had me grinning from ear to ear as I rode it, and the RS was just a plush ride with little giggle factor. Both great bikes and I am now a boxer fan. Thanks for the review.
Hi, good review, I've got one myself and just love it......hurry up spring time!!!! Just to say I have a full set of BMW led indicators, brand new , never fitted if your interested, cheap! Let me know!!
Does the front fork have any adjustability? Someone told me the R nine T Sport has the same front forks as BMW's S1000R, but I'm of the opinion that the S1000R front fork is adjustable. In any event, I clearly do not know, so perhaps you could straighten me out? Absolutely beautiful bike! Enjoy and ride safe!
What an outstanding BMW! I want the Racer version but no room for my wife which I would like that option.. Can you see any possibility for an option. Y changing the rear subframe on the Racer version? Yours would be awesome for her
Great review! Do you think that the R9T could be a First, and Only, bike for an older, New rider, who would stay under 8 revs for the first two years of breaking the bike in, while learning how the master his riding technique?? Thanks, at 55 :-)!
D. Wole Murray-Ifa I miss my R9T so much! I think for a first bike it would probably be ok as all the torque is low down so nice and easy when you pull away. It’s got the power to get up to some nice fast speeds as well. If you’re sensible (and I’d expect a man of your age to be 😜) then yes you can enjoy this as a first and only bike.
@@Pen15UK Thanks so much... so tell me this, LOL... If the R9 t could be a first bike, what do you think about the r 1200 r in that same capacity?? For an older guy like me :-)!!
+Pen15UK We don't get the R nineT Sport here in Australia but basically from what I can see, it is basically a stock R nineT with some of the available options fitted - the aluminium tank, rear aluminium tail cover, Akrapovič Titanium sports silencer with the long connector tube. The aluminium tank option became available with the 2016 R nineTs. Thanks for the review.
I love mine R9T, 2014, black storm metallic. Just recently got it, a year ago and slowly customizing it to be the Roadster I know it's gonna be.
That exhaust note really opens up with the Ti Akra headers,..
The BMW that could tempt me back to BMW. I did 92,000 miles on an R1100GS.
wow

Yes, it's a great bike. Never get tired riding it.

You should! I love it.
Nice review mate. Very pretty bike !

Change the cowl for a pillion seat and you are good to go. But since the position is so aggressive I think she would be uncomfortable...
thanks a lot, i appreciate ur replies
I sat on one. I'm 6ft 2in and it felt perfect. it suites my lanky legs. then I sat on the 1000RR and I felt cramped.
Yeah it's certainly a comfy bike with plenty of space.

Have a same one, it's not my first bike but this one is perfect for driving, every day use and for everything else.So fucking light for driving.
hey buddy, still recommending the bike ? im planning to buy it next week, anything i need to know about it ?
The only thing you need to know is that you'll love it!
haha ok , im finalising my papers, 1 week to go, im thinking of buying half face helmet instead of full, wat do u think ?
Yeah i'd like a half face face helmet as it certainly goes with the look of the bike. BMW do a nice one i think
Would you recommend the r9t as my first motorcycle?
+Tony Chacon possibly not. I'd perhaps go for a bike with smaller engine
how tall are you? I'm tempted in trading my street triple
5'11" it's not a small bike at all so height doesnt really matter
I did EXACTLY that! The second I sat on one and rode it, it was the best thing i did.... Amazing bike!
Do you use this as a daily commuter or only Sunday blasts?
No it only comes out when it's dry and the sun is out. However, if I needed a bike to commute on this one would do the job.
I ride my R NineT on my daily ride to work its great
Been driving a silver colored car for 12 years , I wish this bike came in some colors so tired of silver/brushed metal
is that the 2016 model?
The R Nine T sport was only released on 6th Feb 2016 so yes.

+Tristan Gross yeah the "sport" does come with those extra bits fitted as standard. It's only £1000 more than the standard version so a good deal!
Trouser snakeUK. I only just noticed the name lol that's funny 🤘
