  • 2016 BMW R NineT With Akrapovic Motorcycle Review - This takes my trophy for best sounding bike, no joke. What a combo - the high compression boxer 1200cc twin and the Akrapovic slip-on! WOW.

    I'm an aircraft mechanic. Most modern small prop aircraft use reciprocating opposed engines. Great video. I love boxer engines, would love to own this alongside my Subaru WRX.

    Love your reviews. What do you use for audio? Your videos have the best on-bike audio compared to other reviewers, even the big media groups. Well done.

    Sounds like a radial engine. Usually with older bmw you hear the intake a lot more than exhaust so this is surprising.

    Bought one just before going on vacation for two weeks, really didn't think that through. I also noted that the engine sound resembles the sound of an airplane, haven't heard anyone else mentioning it before though. I guess the pops kinda reminds of the Mini (Maxi) Cooper S that I rented a while ago now that you mention it 😂

    It is definitely a highway bike I own a 16 and it loves to go down highway at 70-110 mph is where it's happiest at I use mine as daily commuter and live on east side on orlando in altamonte area

    The Roundel logo on the BMW is a representation of a propeller.

    Love your reviews! Very helpful for deciding my future bike!
    I'm trying to decide between Xdiavel S and R nineT.
    Which one do you recommend for a weekend bike?
    Btw, could you do another one for Triumph Bonneville T120? :)

    Great video and I always appreciate your review, you explain the smallest details and it's very helpful.
    I would like to ask you something as I hope you can answer it a.s.a.p.
    I'm into buying this Bike tomorrow I've already made a down payment.
    On the long term ride does it get even worse ?
    Cause I've done a short test and what I didn't like about it just like you said the throttle grip so small and I felt some pain with my left grip also both my shoulders because I'm leaning a little bit forward.
    Is it worth it to sale my cruiser bike 2014 Victory High Ball as you know they stopped manufacturing it and get the 2016 RnineT ? As a daily city and highway long Rides ?
    I'll be looking forward to your reply

    This is on my list of ultimate bike garage :-) It's the classic looking version of the R1200R. They used to make the R1200R Classic which had the old telelever front end that was really nice.

    Geez, these machines have become so complex you almost have to do some homework on all those electronics before the ride!

      With the fuel! 200kgs empty is reasonable for a 1200cc BMW

    what I don't understand is that first you say that it's got a stiff suspension and then when you're coming to a stop that it goes to a nosedive if I had a stiff suspension you would have no nose dive at all because that means the suspension is very soft do you know or realize what you're saying because you seem to be contradicting yourself on a lot of different levels here on the bike well on a lot of other bikes too so whatever!.....

    • @nominalvelocity
      @nominalvelocity 8 років тому

      I've ridden bikes with soft-ish suspensions which just aren't tuned that good--for the individual rider. You get a jarring ride, pogo-stick like ride as the suspension rebounds too quickly. It can give the impression of being stiff. Seeing how he's a bigger guy, it's a possibility.

      BIKES BLADES/GUN'S it has adjustable rear suspension. Turn the dial and it softens right up😄

      I sold my FZ-07 for a 2016 rninet. There are some things that upset me like no gas gague, speedo hard to read at glance, but the ride is so much better than the FZ. Worth the upgrade

    How reliable is the boxer engine?

    • @saschamaj
      @saschamaj 7 років тому +5

      If anything, BMW boxer engines are known for their reliability. Multiple 100's of thousand mile are standard.

    Demand for this bike was astronomical. BMW wasn't even prepared to manufacture enough of them.
