That's a pretty open Q that I couldn't answer with any authority remotely. I'd suggest that if it was working before and there is now play in the parallelogram and/or jockey cage pivot, it needs replacing. Some higher end derailleurs do have the option to replace the jockey cage components. You'd need to do some research on the actual model you are talking about. I'd also take a look at whether the jockey wheels have play baring in mind the top one on Shimano mechs (don't know what yours is) are meant to. It makes the indexing work...
@@bicycleguru I have a newer Altus and that new tier of shimano is horrible, it constantly ghostshifts and the parallelogram is made by folding the edges, they are that cheap, Altus used to be a decent mid tier group
Great, to see an easy way to do it! My framemaker told me to lubricate it from time to time, but I forgot to ask how to do it the easiest way.
THX!!!
Kind of you to let me know... pleasure.
Thanks for sharing 😊
My pleasure... thanks for letting me know dude.
Why not antisieze?
It might wash away quicker and is more exspensive.

How do you deal with the play in the rear deraliure, can it be fixed or needs to be changed?

Tour de Bike 2024 has me believing! Grease is the answer!
YUP, that's about the long and short of it. You may be surprised in the next video what I use it for. Thanks for getting in touch...
What is a "greasy tool stick" 2.31 into the vid?
Twizzle stick... the GT85 nozzle or similar referred to at 1:48. Just something with some grease on it.
ahah: .....another great video! Thanks!
I like your style... thanks dude.
