I am so glad you shared this. I am a new user with loc extensions, and was absolutely astonished by what came out afterwards- upon taking them out. So appreciative of your videos.
Since this specific type of dread is a protective hairstyle it wil heals your hair grow without damage! I ordered some DE synthetic dreads just now and I’m excitedddd
im geting synthetic dread extensions soon and i love to change my hair color a lot so this was very helpful on how to take them out its the care that im worried about but this was very helpful thank you
this was an amazing video. i'm waiting for my kalekolon hair coming so i can make my own dreads as my hair is as thin as yours maybe thinner and isn't grown past my shoulder blades for about 21 years and would love to have long hair for once
thats so cool youre going to make your own! I have had a few fillers make their own and they were so glad they did so stick with it! My dreads have helped my hair grow so healthy so I hope your hair can finally grow past your shoulders!
Thank you for this wonderful video, I've seen a lot of your videos so far, but not all of them yet. I've ordered yesterday some dreadlocks from Amazon because of all of your videos about taking care of them and how to install them all by yourself. I've wanted them for many years now. My question is: What's the preferred length of hair? My hairs are long, and I was wondering if I need to cut them a little bit. They're reaching ± the middle of my back. Should I cut them at shoulder length? Thank you, and keep up the excellent videos.
@@vicb4220 when I first put mine in my scalp was a little confused I think. It wasn’t itchy necessarily but I was tempted to touch my scalp all the time for the first week or so haha At this point I’ve had mine for about 8 months and this whole time there may have been 2 or 3 days where itching was noticeable. Most of the time, if your head is really itchy, it just means you’ll need to scrub your scalp a little better in the shower. In my experience, itchy scalp is caused by a build of of dead skin lol so just getting the skin off will solve the problem!
I ordered some too!! I’m sooooo excited. I only got enough for the underside of my hair because I wanted to see if I can handle the process of putting them in and taking them out first before I do my whole head
@@haylee7951 partials are always. Good idea when your getting started! It is a process for sure, sayid you do it on your own but so worth it! Plus, you will get faster the more move ups you do :)
Thanks you Nicole for this video. I think I put on my synthetic dreadlocks wrong. and I think I didn't put enough. how many dreadlocks do you have to get this hair?
I have 42 dreads in my hair! Yours might be different though depending on the look you’re going for and how strong your hair is! How many dreads did you install! What makes you think you did it wrong?? 🥰
@@nicolepoulton thanks for your answer I have 23 single and 4 double So not enough to have volume My hair is straight and thin but strong enough . I make too Big locks I didn't do enough section
Thank you for sharing - I’ve also ordered my first batch of dreads but they won’t be here for several weeks… where do you get yours from? I love the different blonde shades! Do you install your own or have someone do that for you?
Yay!!!! That so exciting!!! I got mine from dreadful hippie! Wbu?? I install them on myself! I think paying someone would be great to see how they part them on your head but the cost of doing that every 6 weeks would start to add up for sure! So self install is a skill worth learning!!
I wear mine for about 5-6 weeks before I move them up. I find if I leave them in a full two months my natural hair grows out long enough to start dreading itself almost. So many knots and it is so hard to brush out. If I move up at 6 weeks I have no problems at all :)
But the thing is you make it look so easy but I have a question my hair is so thin and so fine that my braids when I take them out of my dread they're kind of sticking to the dread where they don't necessarily come off as easy as yours do and they're almost like matted to The Dread and to the top of my hair and my doing something wrong
Idk if this link will work but this is what I have. They weren’t my first choice but my target was sold out of everything else so I just went with these. That is why I got them! I want to try growing my hair out without having to apply heat everyday!
What colors did you go with??
I am 10 and my mom is going to give me dreads so now I know what to expect when I take them out
you've really helped me to just embrace the frizz

hey next time put a conditioner/ hair mask on before combing it out. the conditioner will help detangle and make it easier to comb.
