Great video after great video. Great photo after great photo. Really appreciate you mate. It shouldn’t be underestimated the amount of skill and dedication required to do what you do.
I'm going to try this again. I (we) absolutely love your videos but your scammer has latched on to me a few times and makes me nervous. But we def want to support you!! I hope you know how much your content means to us! Everything from the food you eat, how you prepare it, where you go, how you are feeling about the place, your settings and why, the results of the shots - EVERYTHING! Each video is a perfect diary of your day. At least from our point of view. The care you take to make each video is very apparent and we appreciate all your hard work. Also, kudos for embracing summer this year!!! Last year you looked so sad and struggled. Good job!!!
I have not been on here for awhile, your voice is calming. I am still taking basic pictures and mostly I paint landscape scenery and work details from memory. I hope one day to go to Scotland. This gives a feel for an unfamiliar landscape Thanks. so much Thomas, The rainbow shot is very beautiful!! I saw your telephone call with Adam Gibbs, very funny. lol :)
Hi Tom, just want to say thanks so much. I absolutely love your content. As someone who struggles with anxiety, watching your videos of landscape photography in some of my favourite places, is such a fantastic antidote. The tone you hit and the deeper messages you convey on creativity and connection to the landscape just hits the spot every time. I took up photography a years ago now and your work is a huge inspiration and just makes me want to get outside in all weathers with my camera. Keep up the great work, it’s a joy to watch! Stu
Bravo for keep on trying to get the Stac P shot. I spent a night up there in June with modest success. However, as I know you will appreciate, it is the being there that is important. Any images are extra. The content of your videos are great, please keep them coming.
I love it when a plan doesn't work out... then you just have to wing it, pray for good light, have a little patience and take great photos! Why do we do this? We are landscape photographers! We love nature and all that it throws at us (except the midges or mosquitoes), and we take what it throws at us and make memories! Thank you for enduring all of that, and producing some amazing images. See you next week!
I really like that you switched to Nikon. I also switched to Nikon from Sony recently, because I think the Nikon Z system became mature enough and has good variety of lenses for my needs.
Thomas, just love your style and humorous manner. As for cameras, I don't really think it matters much within reason. You are the main factor in the outcome of your images rather than the camera. Just look at what you got out of the XT-3 before IR in the mountains of Nepal and since IR with shots like that stag. BTW, that gives me hope that some day I'll too be able to get somewhat similar results from my XT-3! Thanks again for a fantastic video. Have a great weekend.
Thank you for looking after this community, I truly do appreciate having it. Also! As someone who's just moved to Scotland, I love seeing these videos of all the different corners of my new home that I haven't had a chance to see yet.
Tom, the rainbow shot was EXTRAORDINARY. Almost too good. If I hadn't seen you show how the polariser improved it in real time, I would have thought you had photoshopped it in.
You probably are one of the best authentic photographer UA-camr out there. The effort you put to make your viewers safe is amazing. I really hope you hold this consistency of creating stories with photographs. ❤️
Hey! You dont need to apologize for the sponsored bit! You make really high quality videos, and I'm glad that there are brands that recognize it and are willing to sponsor your videos! Cheers man
Who needs CGI when the Lord God presents scenes like this nearly every day, somewhere on our planet. One needs a blessing and a bit of luck to be in the right spot at the right time to capture it, and Mr. Heaton excels in both.
Polarizing the rainbow! What a great tip! I've taken my best shots during passing storm fronts, during sunset. Man I love the light coming out of that!
Aaah great stuff here Tom. I always look forward to your videos. Everything in the content is the tops. Thank you as always for sharing your knowledge and adventures chasing the best shot you can find. The polerizer shore helped the rainbow stand out, and l loved the music on that shot. See you next time Alioban x
Magic Thomas. BTW, if the autofocus doesnt do the job, i always dial the aperture down, autofocus and dial the aperture up. It works very fast and the image is tag-sharp.
I love seeing you getting all excited about the magnificent lighting conditions. It really shows how passionate you are about landscape photography. Watching your video’s always makes me happy!
My experience with the Nikon AF is that if you go full manual mode with AF sometime it is not the most reliable. It feels as if the camera question itself in terms of acquiring focus. Meaning if you keep pressing the AF button for miliseconds too long even though it initially acquired focus it might start to hunt back and forth a bit, which unlike other brand that either sticks or moves onto to nearby points for focus. For all landscapes and setup tripod shots I prefer to just use AF-S mode with pinpoint AF. And provide the camera with ample light and place the box on a contrasty edge to acquire focus so when it's got an easier job it works mostly hassle free. Yes. Full frame nowadays have some fantastic longer telezoom/prime lenses. It usually consists of a brand's best optics and AF motors/technology and are mostly what the pros rely on for a living. And image quality wise it doesn't compromise that much compare to medium and large format. And once we have 16bit raw in future full frame bodies that gap is even more narrower.
Bonjour Thomas Vraiment du beau travail , des superbes photos avec de très belles lumières.Bravo. Nice job , fantastics landscapes ,fantastics lights.Bravo.
No better light than clearing skies after an ugly storm. It only happens once every year or two where I'm at, but when I see thunderstorms 1-3 hours before sunset I am checking the radar for what might be on the west horizon. Sunset in those conditions completely transforms the world and suddenly everything is a viable subject. Makes all those trips out with bad light seem like it was worth the pain.
Thanks for the warning Thomas, back to the images. The infrared shot of the stag was awesome as was the super sized rainbow bursting from the the clouds, two absolutely stunning images, thanks for sharing 🤝🤝
Just found you as it were, Thomas, a great find, slick informative, enthusiastic just what I need as a man over 70 years. Just going back to Nikon Z7 ii. had an excursion with fujifilm then realised the grass is not always greener. At my age should have known better. Thoroughly enjoyed the way you did video of your trip, I will now be a follower of your work and videos. Thanks for the enjoyment!
So glad you made it up Stac Polly! Hope you loved her! Your pics were off the scale - the stag was stunning and the summer Isle ones looked like oil paintings 😍
I absolutely loved these two videos- so inspiring! I love the passion and excitement and can totally relate. There is nothing better that a wonderful time out shooting especially with light like that
Tom, your work is timeless. I am planning a trip to Zion in January, and came across your vids from 5-6 years ago. You were so much younger then, lol. (I mean, in YT timelines, lol) But, your chasing of the light, from year to year, I am learning things that I would not be able to otherwise. I am on the opposite side of the country. I cannot get there as often as I'd like. But, with your videos, I am able to learn lessons that only someone of your caliber can teach. Chasing the light. Thank you sooooo much for your work Tom. I appreciate you. Oh, and polarizers and rainbows. Rainbows are a result of reflection. Pretty cool how CPL can enhance the reflection, just as much as eliminate it. Cool trick!!
Hi Tom, although through the years I have been primarily a wildlife photog, I have over the past couple of years been watching you & the rest of the F4 gang and really have started to appreciate to fine art of landscape, thanks!
Thomas your work of late and your films are outstanding. I think it may be fair to say Nikon is really working for you and it’s allowing you to concentrate on your creativity! Thanks for sharing what you do and welcome to the dark side (Nikon) 😂🤣😂 👏👍😀
That was some mighty epic music you piped in when the sunset shots started to roll out. But was it overkill? Not at all. It was purrfick. Just beautiful images. That rainbow, wow! And I especially enjoyed seeing that even a photographer who's done it all hundreds of times can still get that childlike enthusiasm when the special moments happen. Thanks for bringing us along.
Again a great video Thomas. Thanks for that and the fact with the tip when you struggle to separate things in the picture. This was really helpful for me
"On a steaming cloud the sun jumps, crowing light. And the air opens like a book. Its blinding." (Norman MacCaig - Sun blink) Norman wrote much poetry about Assynt. Fantastic images Thomas. I love that weather app too - have been using it for the past two years. Always great when you come to Scotland :)
You finally got up stackpolly. That's been in the works for a while. The shots on the coast, outrageous. Less is always best. I do like the infrared, the results are always interesting. Thanks for a great video.
38 years ago I passed St. Kilda on a voyage from Liverpool to Faroe Islands. Suddenly out of the mist St. Kilda shows up - it was cold and terryfying to watch. It certaintly looks better from the landside. Great episode, Thomas 👍🏻
Lovely photos, I bought a Canon 250d last year when we started to plan having a family , just wanted something decent instead of a my phone but I found out I just love taking photos. I would like to thank you for all your inspiring videos and help as I've been learning as I go along and obviously it's not easy. My first baby boy Nathan will arrive this week and I can't wait to take some epic baby pics, here in Galicia Spain. Beautiful place by the way. Thank you once again.
Great video after great video. Great photo after great photo. Really appreciate you mate. It shouldn’t be underestimated the amount of skill and dedication required to do what you do.
Loving the Nikon shots, there is a different dimension in your photos

Its amazing the millions of ways people get scammed. You're so kind to warn people. Glad to see another nikon user. First time on the channel.
Just being able to see these beautiful images on this small phone screen still makes my heart soar. Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks, Stu. That's really nice to hear. I hope you continue to enjoy photography long in to the future.
The last image was an ART
Bravo for keep on trying to get the Stac P shot. I spent a night up there in June with modest success. However, as I know you will appreciate, it is the being there that is important. Any images are extra. The content of your videos are great, please keep them coming.
That rainbow shot was absolutely incredible! It looked like someone opened the bifrost
The image at 15:53 looks like something Turner could have painted. Top notch.
Wow. It just shows how perseverance pays off.
Love that deer shot near the begging. And the rainbow one. Bit of a buzz that little adventure that’s for sure.
Thomas, nice images. I love the one with the rainbow ... Well done.

This is the best landscape photography channel. It's a great reminder to be on site and to wait for the conditions to shift.
By far the best most interesting Landscape Photography channel on the net!! Love it Thomas, keep up the great work!
I'll take that. Thanks a lot 👍
I really like that you switched to Nikon. I also switched to Nikon from Sony recently, because I think the Nikon Z system became mature enough and has good variety of lenses for my needs.
That stag photo near the beginning was beautiful! I really enjoy seeing wildlife shown in their environment.
I following so you so many years and it is always worth it to see your videos. Thank you Thomas for this high quality content.
No prizes for commenting but two for watching. Both the Stag and Rainbow shots are spectacular, 🤞they both make it onto the 2023 calendar!

Superb as always, love the work and your presentation, many thanks
Can’t get enough of the small food moments, always making me hungry mid landscape photography binge
That sky when you returned to your van! What a shot
Yeah, but I had no subject. And I was hungry, tired and satisfied with my earlier shot. It did look back and my video though, and a twinge of regret.
Superb images. Your patience and persistence were well rewarded.
The 3rd image is the best one for me. What mood, what drama!!
A few of those images deserved "Absolutely Stunning" I reckon ;-) The IR Wildlife shot was fantastic. Cheers, Duade
These were very moving. The colors, the story, thanks foe sharing.
That rainbow part is the best ND example ever.
The infrared photo! 🙌🏻 Simple and gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the beauty 💚
Tom, the rainbow shot was EXTRAORDINARY. Almost too good. If I hadn't seen you show how the polariser improved it in real time, I would have thought you had photoshopped it in.
@Thomas Heaton... You should do a video on your recipes for your eats on your travels. They always look delicious. :)
You're not alone. Other youtube channels are affected by this plague. Great video as usual. Enjoy your new Nikon.
Thomas, once again awesome video. Love those shots....
You probably are one of the best authentic photographer UA-camr out there. The effort you put to make your viewers safe is amazing. I really hope you hold this consistency of creating stories with photographs. ❤️
Holy, that image with the rainbow is amazing! In awe
Hey! You dont need to apologize for the sponsored bit! You make really high quality videos, and I'm glad that there are brands that recognize it and are willing to sponsor your videos! Cheers man
THAT LIGHT! Great to see you enjoying the new setup. Simplifying is almost always the right way to go
Amazing photos all. IR or non IR. The rainbow photo just pops.
Who needs CGI when the Lord God presents scenes like this nearly every day, somewhere on our planet. One needs a blessing and a bit of luck to be in the right spot at the right time to capture it, and Mr. Heaton excels in both.
Gorgeous light and a rainbows to boot.... lucky fella! Cheers from down under

Loving the Nikon content! Can you do a follow up review about the Z series now that you have used it more?
The modern full frame camera is the perfect tool. Glad you figured it out.
Stunning captures of the Stag and rainbow! Your versatility really paid off. :)
So you finally got up stack polly (spelling check ), Love the rainbow, I do love the sunsets.
That rainbow picture is absolutely incredible! Well done.
You are very welcome to Switzerland sometime if you want. I can be your guide.

Thomas doesn’t get enough credit for the music choices through his videos - love it
Magic Thomas. BTW, if the autofocus doesnt do the job, i always dial the aperture down, autofocus and dial the aperture up. It works very fast and the image is tag-sharp.

yep the midges are killers in the summer --- especially if its warm. I note you spot for the evening shots :)
Wahooo une superbe video avec des paysages fantastiques et des photos sublimes.bravo
those infrared photos were next level.
The effort landscape photographers put in to get the shot is certainly very hard work.
Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Wonderful, like the IR stagg and the sunset is beyond belief!
Spectacular photos Thomas, you definitely were not disappointed! Wow! So beautiful and peaceful there!❤
Absolutely great video. Thanks for taking us along.

That stag how cool is that, especially with that camera. Great images all through this video.
Bonjour Thomas

Nice job , fantastics landscapes ,fantastics lights.Bravo.
Love the energy in this one Thomas. Photography is contagious indeed! And that light 👌
I have commented previously that i thought you’d get bored with the Infrared camera. I eat my hat. That stag image is fantastic.
Some absolutely beautiful images here. Wow!

Oh man, Zion was a lifetime ago and yes, I have definitely aged. Glad to hear that you get a lot from my video. Thanks for letting me know. 👍
I spent some time in Zion this past March. It is amazing and I have a reminder above my fireplace. I know you will enjoy it.

I look forward to Wednesdays to see what our next adventure is with you! Great work as always!! Thanks Thomas!!
Man, I got chills watching this one. Serendipity for sure (the generalists’ version of F8 and be there). Great light and wonderful photos!
Was going to watch some older videos and Boom ! new one. Happy days.😊
