Fat doesn't make you fat. If you're on a low carb protocol fat makes you lean. Keto and carnivore diets are up to 80% of calories from fat and people are losing weight as long as they don't mix those fats with a high carb diet. Also when it comes to ground beef you cook a lot of those fats out. I've lost 145 lb on a high fat diet

But it’s unsustainable long term and for the most part it’s much easier and healthier for the average person to stick to a high protein high carb low fat diet.
Remember fat contributes more calories per gram than carbs and protein.

@@Cashinn_Outt1754 healthy fat calories and protein are not equal to carb calories. Your body uses some of the fat and protein without having to burn it. Your body is made up of fat and protein not carbs so it's going to run more efficiently on it's primary fuel source which is ketones .Carbs only came into the equation on a large-scale over the last 50-hundred years or so. They may have been there in small amounts for the last ten thousand years or more but our ancestors ran more on ketones than anyting. 100 years to 10,000 years is a not enough to evolve the need for carbs. Carbohydrates are a drug and absolutely not necessary for the human body. How is our primary fuel source for the last couple million years unsustainable? Every cell in your body is made up of fat and cholesterol all your hormones are made from cholesterol. As long as you cut out the seed oils and use healthy animal fats it's very sustainable.

@@ericwuerl3976 that’s not how it works and 70\30 fat isn’t the kind of fat you want. That fat is from nuts and fruit primarily.
Carbs are your bodies primary energy source which your body converts excess fat and protein to glucose anyway

CoryArmstrongFitness is totally clueless. Having an abundant amount of fat in our diet is great. 70/30 ground beef is NOT unhealthy. Obviously way too much fat can lead to gout and clogged arteries and what not but in general fat is a necessary part of our diet and we are designed to consume quit a bit of animal fat. Cutting out or significantly reducing your CARBOHYDRATE intake would be way more effective at fat loss rather than eliminating animal fats.

Ate strictly animal based (eggs, grass fed meats of ruminant animals, a bit of raw cheese, ghee/grass fed butter/tallow and avocados and fruits to get some minor amount of healthy carbs) and I lost almost 30 lbs in 2 months. I wasn’t super skinny but wasn’t even very heavy prior to the weight loss. Believe in the diet whole heartedly. Important though also is I took desiccated beef organ pills also to make sure I am getting the extra nutrients that a strictly muscle meat diet can lack in.
Fiber is not necessary. Saturated fat gets such a bad wrap.. there is huge benefit in grass-fed animal fat. The biggest thing was consistency and cutting out seed oil, grain, and sugar. These are the bodies worst enemy.
Once you hit your goals indulge yourself once in a while, need to enjoy the food this world has to offer but until then be strict and be consistent!

Basically just get the leanest percentage you can. 93% lean, 7% fat is the leanest most markets offer but if they have leaner, get that. The leaner the meat is, the less calories it will have. Fat has more calories in it than protein. Eating fat in itself will not make you fat. It’s just the fact that fat has more calories in it that you want the leaner cuts. That way you can eat more food for less calories. Fat loss is about one thing. Calories in vs Calories out. Your body needs to use more calories than you intake to lose weight. Done.

The biggest problem with the fat content in American ground beef is the toxicity of the fats in this type of beef. The fat is where all the pesticides and insecticides and biocides residue forced upon these cattle remain. It causes a huge amount of inflammation but it's devastating to your cardiovascular system. Get fed grass finished beef, your body will much more readily make use of the protein content because it's not warding off and trying to protect itself from all the toxins that come from regular beef

Thanks Capt Obvious. But it all boils down to calories in vs calories out.
You can eat the fattier beef as long as it fits into to your macros and you don’t over do the calories.
If I eat all 80/20 beef but kept my calories in a deficit I will lose weight.

Stick to grass fed grass finished 85 15. You don’t need to sacrifice flavor and you will loose fat with strength training. If you can cook them in the grill even better!

A happy medium is grass fed 85%. If you are making sketti or some noodle concoction you are draining that fat off leaving the meat behind. You can even rinse it with water to get it all off and then dump it in your sauce. You have to watch out for the super lean stuff as you might be getting select grade meat.

I respectfully disagree sir, at least on my personal experience goes. I get my ground beef imported from an ancient land in Colorado, USA; I have done 90 days on a variety of fat/protein ratios. From 95/5 % lean, 85/15% , down to where I’m best at health wise, 73/28%. I’m not saying I’m a research scientist, but, from the CBC blood work up a had, with the 4 different, lean/fat ratios, it wasn’t even close, the 90 days on the 73 lean/28 fat percentage, only eating the fattiest ground beef, Gave me the optimal blood levels, and and average daily blood glucose,(checked twice daily) averaged 76 on two calibrated glucose meters. My blood ketones, (Checked once per day) averaged 4.7mmols, throughout the 90 days. I only drank purified water, with TDS (Total Dissolved Solids at around 30-60. Our well has clean water alone, but to eliminate some slight iron sediment, we run our cooking/drinking water through our 6 gallon Crown Berkey water filter. Take care!
