I got this radio in the mail today. and i couldnt be more happy. i own an older futaba, and the steering and throttle feels the EXACT same, but...this radio feels more sturdy! my futaba feels more lose, granted its old too but its never been droppd or anything. for someone who isnt in the RC world, u could tell em this is the most expensive radio and they would believe u by the looks of it. One of my fav looking, and... i got it more cuz the price is unbeliavble good.
The red plug on the receiver battery pack is called a JST plug, and you can get it at most online hobby shops. Check online to see if you can find someone that's selling a Tamiya to JST plug adapter.
this is still an awsome radio i have had for a year now and love it i have three cars on it and two more recievers for more cars never one problem with this radio
@OrangePHX yeah it most definitely should since you can adjust just about everything on your vehicle, dual rates throttle/brake, etc, all that plays directly into how well your vehicle handles.
@ramtrix if your throttle is working as steering then you most likely plugged your servo into channel 2. Channel 1 is for steering and channel 2 is for throttle. Be sure you plug your steering servo into the channel 1 port (Ch1) and the ESC into the channel 2 port (Ch2).
When you set it make sure you have it set to the correct channel in your case I think you left it in channel 1 that is why the steering was changed and not the throttle, watch the video at about 5:40 and you will see how to set it on the transmitter.
Fly Sky transmitters will only bind to Fly Sky receivers, so if you want to use this transmitter on your other models will have to get a compatible receiver for your vehicles.
@MrDavidfuchser Your right. This isn't R/C of the 1980s when people were just getting into it. Today it is huge a business. Companies like futaba are diversified into industrial applications. Even though R/C is a smaller segment of their business they still have he capability to offer top quality at a reasonable and competitive price. Every new transmitter they release is just a new body and some new bells and whistles thrown in, wow. futaba took forever adopt 2.4ghz, so much for innovation.
Channel 3 on the transmitter is like a on off switch, if you have a servo on channel 3 when you hit the switch it will go to 100% then it will go back to 0%.
I highly recommend this system i use it in my revo 3.3 and i have not problem taking it 150 yards away with no glitching no delays no problemms what so ever. i also own a futaba 3pm 2.4ghz i had on my revo but removed it for 1 reason ths low battery indicator doesent beep till 8volts which is to late mine hite 8volts and my revo never came back 40 mph into a block wall luckly only broke front diff case 15 dollar fix.
if telemetry is not your thing this remote is the sheeet. i love mine. i actually got rid on my spectrums for theses. totally worth it. very noob friendly as well for all your specific settings like expo, dual rate etc. buy this you wont be disappointed. rx are 8$ too.
i sure as hell cant believe the price!!! i was about to buy a 2 channel with no screen and running AM for like $80! i can buy almost 3 of these with that money!!!! DAMN
@98snakeeater, to bind it if your not using a stand alone battery pack like bec. You would use your esc. There is a good video that shows you how to bind it. The name of the video is How to bind,FlySky GT3B 2.4GHz 3ch receiver and how to set up the fail safe.
We had problems with this radio glitching other radios at the track. So we wrote a complaint email to the fcc. They were shocked people use it for racing and basically said it's for backyard bashing only (not their exact words). Needless to say they are banned from 2major off-road series in Minnesota and we are working on banning it in our main onroad club
all you have to do is select E. POINT and above the 100% it will say RIGHT BACK turn the stearing wheel to the left and it will say left forward and it will be back to normal. Mine was the same way when i got mine and that fixed it.
@supersanchez1991 hey man thats a good question for a beginner. i myself had to ask someone about this. all it is, is that it doesn't interfere with any other car frequencies. sooo this means that you can have many people running 2.4ghz without any interference. you can also pair the controller to any other 2.4ghz rc product.

but from hobby king there is more expensive shipping. Hobbypartz and nitrorcx have free shipping for anything over $5. They also have great customer service if something does happen to go wrong. Something I noticed was he was saying gt3b even though he was talking about the origional gt3 to compare it to the gt3b
@venquessa Absolutely. I may be picking on futaba a little more, because they are the one of the big dogs, but your right. What I'm saying may be misconstrued as "whining", but it's not. Just accepting less and less is a loser's game. I own a 3PJS and love it. I used to look at it from time to time and considered upgrading. But, I always wind up saying to myself: "I have a great transmitter that takes FM, PCM and Spektrum. Why would I get rid of the versatility? I even like the feel better.
@gruzergrub5000 looks like you need to reprogram the throttle range on the esc. This lets the esc know where the range of throttle is and programs reverse into it. Castle should have instructions on how to do this.
i bought the tx/rx, plus 2 extra RXs for 59.50 to take advantage of the free shipping. They included tax! Hope that means it's in the same state or thats some BS!
"model memory" is also for different receivers with other frequencies on each model, or I'll have to take out my receiver and put it in the other model every time I want to play with it?
@biped19 Not just Futaba. Spektrum are at it too. The DX3E for example is more expensive than the Flysky (also sold as an Annsman W6), but has far, far less features and... to be honest, it's not exactly better quality either!
Go to the transmitter , and rotate the dial to "MODEL SELECT 2, 3, 4 , 5 , ETC. Which is next on the OPEN models , BE it , ca r , boat, and repeat the steps to name your model. REPEAT step 1, with the battery pack. and bind plug. TURN on the receiver power. HOLD down the "Bind " button on the transmitter , and turn it on. THE UNIT will now bind the second receiver. , UNPLUG the battery ,and bind plug . Turn off the transmitter , and turn it back on. THE system is now bound to the second model I.D . Plug back in , the steering servo on channel 1. Speed control to channel 2. You're good to go. Just repeat the process , for more models.
@smokesilver ive tried that a few times, yet it doesnt seem to want to kick into reverse. the lights on the ESC show it working properly, like green if i go forward, yellow when braking red in reverse, but i just stop, no reverse? not sure if its the radio, all the trims are set correctly.

hey help please I ordered this part there is no dvd in the box I tried to put this system in my tc4 with a fuze 6800kv system, I am not able to get it to function correctly. I put it in my vxl cars and all is good but with the fuze systm it keeps reading that b30 is at 0 and it will not let me use the trottle
I was thinking of attaching a servo Y-cable on channel 3 and using that to switch on and raise/lower headlights on my Tamiya RX-7, would this radio handle that?
There isnt any trouble shoot there. the systme was able to bind. In my vxl cars everything is fine and the trims are at o for both. When I pair with my dynamite fuze 6800 kv systme it is binded but does not work right. The throttle trim has to get put to b 30 and does not opperate correct. How do I fix this problem. I bought this system for my tc4 with the fuze 6800 kv and with that car it isnt working.
I just got this remote and I like it.....however on my old remote if i pulled the trigger it engaged my throttle but on this remote i have to push the trigger to make the car go and pull it back towards me to break (the exact opposite of my old remote) i tried changing the settings to reverse and that reversed my steering but not the trigger.... is there a different way to change that?

Without them i highly doubt the hobby would be as popular as it is today. And without Traxxas you probably would not have half of the brands that are out there now. With competition comes innovation, and with that comes a better hobby. And that's something you obviously never thought about!

i have the FS-GT2 2.4 radio that im using on my emaxx brushless i built, my castle system is working correctly and it set to have reverse and all that, yet it does not want to go into reverse when i use this flysky radio, what gives? should i rebind perhaps or what? i havent tried swapping radios/receivers with my airtronics i have so i dont know yet if the problem is the radio but i figured i might as well ask while im at it lol. the esc does show the lights indicating forward/stop/rev.

The only thing on the CD was the manual for the radio system, on the product page you will find a link to download the manual.

As far as I know the HPI RS4 nitro doesn't have a reverse module. As for the T Maxx the 3rd channel can be used for reverse.

Have it, works great.. note when buying ....buy extra receivers ...cuz it will hold up to 10 models..

@ashc8907 The Flysky Gt3B low battery indicator beeps at 9volts which is plenty of time to finish the tank and bring your model in.
@ramtrix most likely you plugged the Throttle in the wrong port, try another port

You just need a another FS-GTR receiver for your different car, select that model on the transmitter and that's it.
@jauchiu You will need some thing like a futaba 3PK or 4PK or spektrum DX3S or R.

Copyandpastification recievers have the same connections and it dosent matter what servo or system u run with it

Can you use channel 3 to operate a transponder and a capacitor/glitch buster by running a Y-style wire harness?
This radio doesn't have that function to change the steering sensitivity.

Do you have to bind it when your installing it, or if you have another receiver for the gt3b you need to bind that extra receiver for your second rc.
