With moderate soldering skills the Flysky GT3B can be modified to run on 4AAs with swapping out the voltage regulator to a Pololu S7V7F5 (it's also recommended for lower power consumption) and with the software update it can control 8CH and 79 cars. While at it may as well peel off the polarizer from the screen (hold the LCD with your other hand to avoid bending the pins) and stick it to the inside of the screen window to reverse the colors. It's so much easier to see the screen during the day.

Yes that 8AA tray comes out its a piece by itself just take out the bottom screws and seperate the radio halves till you can pop it out. And clip off the pos and neg wires. Very light radio in weight, last a long while due to the LiPo battery. I have extra LiPo batteries and you can crawl like forever on them.
Awesome video. I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile but just haven’t looked into it. I think I have 3 spectrum stx2s and 2 of the Traxxas ones that all came with RTRs. Hi. I am using 3 FlySky GT3C all modded to 8 channels with a 12$ 8 channel receiver. Traxxas is only a 4 channel Transmitter. Signal for differentials is splitted in the receiver, because of that you cannot adjust the endpoints of the differential servos. On my FlySky I am using CH1 Steering, CH2 Throttle, CH3 Diff Rear, CH4 Diff Front, CH5 1st/2nd gear, CH6 winch, CH7 and CH8 are for lights. I am using the larger capacity LiPo battery for the GT3C, is sold separately. kind regards Mark
Golden info!!! The Traxxas is indeed only 4 channel. It's such a hack how they put two different servos in one. That's why the front diff has to be locked first. And that's why those servos keep burning up. So when you use the Lipo, is there a voltage protector to prevent damaging the lipo? fc

Hi! I use FlySky GT5 (with FS-BS6 receiver). 6 channels, 4xAA batteries or LiPo with JST plug, screen, 20 models memory, but I think it is $70 or even more. Great review, dude. 😊 I have 2 of the FlySky FS-GT3C (one mine and the other is my father's). I can't confirm in what it's better than this one or even if it is... (Like another person commented.) But it's really great and I could go really far with it while doing FPV. (I don't know why, but RC doesn't make sense anymore to me if it's not with FPV. LOL) Anyway, I know that DasMikro (DasMykro? I don't remember) sells a version on Banggood of the radio already hacked and with LOTS of other buttons, knobs and so on. There's another FlySky radio as well, I don't remember the name, which looks like a smartphone screen in the top and it's FULLY programmable. Even things like failsafe and so on! A friend of mine from the US has one and loves it! 😊
I think i got a dud when i bought the fs-gt5 the batteries only last a day at max and drain even when the radio is not on i cooked a brand new lipo that i put in it and it sat over night off and it still killed the batt. And out of 5 receivers only 2 of them, channels 3-5 worked ,i am really liking the radiolink rc6gs.
I have had the flysky gt3b for a long time and its everything u said. Now i need another transmitter and i have been looking at the radio link because of the gyro feature and approx.$18 receivers.what do know about them? Also does the gt3c use the same receivers as the gt3b? Thanks for all the informative well done videos by the way!
Gt3b and c use the same protocol. Receivers are compatible. Look into the HobbyPorter hp-007 its 7 channel with a waterproof receiver with gyro built in. Very affordable and some sweet features!
Radiolink RC6GS/RC4GS has functuon of Subsidiary ID ( ID seed), does GT3C has it? ID seed explanation from Radiolink is when boat1 still has minimal power, while using boat2 to rescue boat1 ,transmitter controls two receiver at the same time. In this case, radiolink transmitter is able to only communicate with boat2, make it easier to rescue boat1.

How would a futaba 3pv radio compare to the gt3b? 🤔 the 3pv is a low priced radio from futaba but it is LOADED with features as it is perfect for racers and bashers on a budget (all u need to race with and yet not very bloated nor overwhelming.. with the r304sb receivers u get telemetry ability the voltage telemetry is included with the receiver)

Hey, great video as usual👍 I have the gt3c and I love it. Even my 4 year old can use it since it's quite compact. UNFORTUNATELY I dropped it and now the screen is cracked, the radio works, but it's hard to do the settings since not all of the screen works..😜 My 3c is uses a 1S lipo, dont know if it's rebuilt, but I bought it new so.. Thanx for all your tips on saving money👍👍👍
That's my point. One reviewer mentioned the LIPO option , but mis spoke. THE HACK is on the B' version , is using a small MA 2400-3200 3 S system. IT works, but the power to transmitter is weird. YOU need to cut, the main, power cables on the battery , and solder on A JR . plug to drive the radio. IT negates to purpose of having a bigger pack. THE LIPO battery , can't be charged in the transmitter. (IT still needs to be removed), to be charged. A NICKEL Metal HYDRIDE Pack may work, but I don't know how it sees the transmitters charging circuit. Don't complicate matters. DURACELL Rechargeable give me 11.2 V. all day long, and are only . 8 volts off the 8 battery (full) 12 VOLTS. I haven't had any range, or low voltage issues. THE .C version, is running 3.7 volts, Versus 11.2 or 12 volts. The range is terrible. I don't know why the manufacture went this direction? Someone mentioned the C version, started cutting off at 50 feet. FlYSKY, you hit a Home run with the GT3B ! What happened on the C version?>

I saw your video and bought one about four years ago. I love the little screen it has, but the range is absolutely terrible. I can drive maybe 30 meters before it cuts off, and I live out in the woods without any radio or other interference. Not impressed by the GT3-B's range.
Agreed. Liked my gt5 until I ran it over with my car yesterday. 😥 Another one is on order. Not as good as high end radios of course but pretty decent. Wish the wheel was a bit larger though.
hi there, nice and detailed review on the radio. i am coming back to rc after a 20yr hiatus and cosidering changing my old futaba am radios to 2.4ghz since my am radios though still working, is glitching on bl motors. question though, i have heard stories that the response time of the gt3b lags considerably against its branded counter parts like sanwa, futaba or spectrum...what can you advice on this pls? as i intend to join our clubs racing again...thanks in advance.
Really good radio but doesn’t like water at all . Got caught in a rain storm with mine while hiking and crawling destroyed it , it was toast everyone else’s was fine . Tried drying it out but no luck .
Actually not. We're thinking of channel mixing. Expo Setting is slowing down the initial response to steering input on the controller wheel then increasing sensitivity at the end of the travel. This makes the vehicle easier to control (especially at high speed) since the driver is less likely to oversteer. And then at the end, the response is sped up so the driver can have full steering range. It also balances out the steering deficiencies of a servo since it travels at an arc and doesn't move the steering as much at the end of the travel. Exponential setting is usually set in negative values. -50% expo means less sensitive by 50 at the beginning of the travel.

Had gt3b and gt3c.. like more on the 3c because of the weight.. but we run mostly with sanwa mt4/mt4s here.. since it has MOA options to run so we called the superwich (PTO winch)
Yes, the weight can be an issue for those looooong runs/days.
@@RCReviewChannel the gt3c is much lighter plus one hacked it is able to run motor on axle not only that but the dig can be set up to stepping for up to 8 different overdrive settings.
Live the t shirt? Thanks for the info.
Just bought this remote.
i have the haked gt3c for my defender trx4. its awesome.
Great review, dude. 😊
I have 2 of the FlySky FS-GT3C (one mine and the other is my father's). I can't confirm in what it's better than this one or even if it is... (Like another person commented.) But it's really great and I could go really far with it while doing FPV. (I don't know why, but RC doesn't make sense anymore to me if it's not with FPV. LOL)
Anyway, I know that DasMikro (DasMykro? I don't remember) sells a version on Banggood of the radio already hacked and with LOTS of other buttons, knobs and so on.
There's another FlySky radio as well, I don't remember the name, which looks like a smartphone screen in the top and it's FULLY programmable. Even things like failsafe and so on! A friend of mine from the US has one and loves it! 😊
GT-3C is awesome!! You should check the flysky noble
Great video
Great radios, I use one and a Spectrum DX4S
GT3C is better?
I want to buy a flysky and I'm thinking GT3B or GT3C
Have you checked out the flysky fs-gt5. I was thinking about getting it. And it has 5ch. Great video man👍👍
Have not checked it. Others chime in please.
Very good radio with 6 channels
I think i got a dud when i bought the fs-gt5 the batteries only last a day at max and drain even when the radio is not on i cooked a brand new lipo that i put in it and it sat over night off and it still killed the batt. And out of 5 receivers only 2 of them, channels 3-5 worked ,i am really liking the radiolink rc6gs.
@@rccraft5900 I have had no problems so far. Gyro works good too
Hello rc review hope you are doing well love your videos take care
By the way are you filipino?
Very good review brother!!
Just got one!!
What AA rechargeable batteries do you buy so you can re-charge through the charging port? thanks. Just got mine from Amazon today.
Just bought my second gt3...... it's awesome..... but be warned the triggers break off very easily
Do you know what the low voltage cut off is suppose to be on the transmitter. ? I can't seem to find it on my transmitter manual?
Just discovered your channel, I think it’s great. Have you created a video on how to program fly sky gt3b transmitter step by step? It would be most helpful. Regards Richard

I moded my Traxxas and other transmitters to except LiFe batterys 1600 ma they work great 6.6 volt ...my main radio I use is a Futaba 7px yes a little expensive 7 channel and most of my RCs I uas a 6 channel reciver only 34 dollars ...on my slash race rig I have the telemerty link ...what's nice on the crawlers with a castle Mamba and micro I can use the auxiliary wire to adjust my drag break on the fly....
I appreciate your review im hoping i can use this radio for my 8s Xmaxx i believe im having reciever problems
How much transmitter range does flysky gt3b have!?
You can actually make it 8 channel!
Check out the turnigy gt5 its a flysky gt5 6 channel for 70.00
Are the receivers of the flysky waterproof?
no
the gt3c has a li ion not a li po dont know if that matters
I like the controller it’s kool
Hi, is it possible to operate a 3 speed transmission with this transmitter? This receiver seems to be a great option, but the manual is horrible. Please let me know how we can control a 3 speed transmission on the 3rd channel. Thank you so much for your quality videos.
I have this radio as well. What suggestion would you have on the steering endpoints for the TRX4 Sport? 80%?
Hey, great video as usual👍
I have the gt3c and I love it. Even my 4 year old can use it since it's quite compact. UNFORTUNATELY I dropped it and now the screen is cracked, the radio works, but it's hard to do the settings since not all of the screen works..😜
My 3c is uses a 1S lipo, dont know if it's rebuilt, but I bought it new so..
Omg thank you
welcome bud!
You are so kind
You should review the Flysky NB4.
Will do. What's good about it?
Don't know yet. Haven't tried it. But it looks like great value.
I need a left handed,w/very fast transmitting from controller to truck.Im using the stock RTR controller that came with the Arrma Big Rock. The Spektrum STX2.The absolute worst I’ve ever used in my 20 years of trucks & boats. Can you suggest a good very fast non-glitching left-handed controller ??? Maybe one that switches over from right hand to left without having to take the entire thing apart.?
I was wondering when you were going to do a video on this..I will be getting a flysky after watching this..any micro servo you can recommend for the 2 speed transmission that won't fry if I up the voltage via the 1080 esc?..thanks!
Mabey u can shed light, why would my receiver/transmitter kill all signal even at car wen Im start it up till I switch rx off then on...also has no range antenna looks gd inside it’s fly sky fs-gr3e receiver with gt3b transmitter 👌🏻
I saw your video and bought one about four years ago. I love the little screen it has, but the range is absolutely terrible. I can drive maybe 30 meters before it cuts off, and I live out in the woods without any radio or other interference. Not impressed by the GT3-B's range.
I like it but it eats batteries ??
Has anybody ever had trouble programming the 1080 ESC with a five sky GT3B
Nope
Flysky GT-5 6CH. if you need more channels.
Agreed.
Liked my gt5 until I ran it over with my car yesterday. 😥
Another one is on order. Not as good as high end radios of course but pretty decent. Wish the wheel was a bit larger though.
@@jimhimesjr torture testing right there
hi there, nice and detailed review on the radio. i am coming back to rc after a 20yr hiatus and cosidering changing my old futaba am radios to 2.4ghz since my am radios though still working, is glitching on bl motors. question though, i have heard stories that the response time of the gt3b lags considerably against its branded counter parts like sanwa, futaba or spectrum...what can you advice on this pls? as i intend to join our clubs racing again...thanks in advance.
Only usable for crawler and similar because of HUGE latency.
Why can't that gust make this gt3 b lipo powered with out the beeping. And lighter.?
Can you move the steering to the other side so you have left-handed steering
I bought this FlySky gt3b to upgrade the receiver on my HPI RS4 and my T-Maxx
How was it, i got a first gen emaxx i wanna get running again
I haven't used it on either my HPI or Mighty Max yet but I have used it on my SCT techno and my eb48 2.0 and I found it to work adequately
Really good radio but doesn’t like water at all . Got caught in a rain storm with mine while hiking and crawling destroyed it , it was toast everyone else’s was fine . Tried drying it out but no luck .
What got wet and broke? The transmitter or receiver?
Transmitter just holding it in my hand .
I carry plastic bags now in case that happens again.
Excuse me.. I'm planning to build my Sakura D5s.. will this radio good enough for it?.. im on a budget right now
I noticed you said expo effects steering on speed? How does that work? My experiance is expo effects the signal from linear to curved?
Can this do simulation as well
What dou you thing about the new spectrum rugger
Hello I love the video but I am wondering if I could use this to be able to run 4 wheel steering on my Redcat Everest 10,thx in advance
How do you feel about the rtr hpi venture radio?
Its able to control the speed and steering angle separately
That is a pretty good one. One of the better RTR radios in our opinion.
Have you tried drone transmitter? Is it good for Crawler?
It looks as if the steering wheel can be slid around. If so, that's what I need to drive right handed one handed due to injury.
Greetings from Australia :) i just got a MJX Hyper Go and had this controller given to me, working better than the RTR of course but having trouble getting reverse to work. Sometimes it'll jump into reverse when i back off the throttle but will stop once i hit the throttle to go forwards again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dane.
