I've been wondering how much worth ProRes actually is compared to H.265, considering the massive file size difference. I'm new to filming, and shooting on an iPhone 15 pro, H.265 with apple log can already give very good results (I feel like), and to be honest I have a hard time really pointing out a difference with the ProRes 422 apple log footage that I take in terms of the end result quality. (most likely because I am a noob) What do you mean exactly by recovering the highlights? And does that really make a big difference in the end result post color grading? If my computer can handle both H.265 and Prores footage at the same speed or almost the same while editing, for now I struggle to find a reason to shoot in ProRes over H.265, but most likely that will change as I start to understand a bit more about it
