Good to hear from you. I am not a DYI person so I had my 12V replaced by Tesla in February 2021. My S85D was built in by April 2015, so the factory battery lasted nearly 6 years! I’m hoping the replacement will last at least 3 years.

That battery lasted really well! My March 2015 S85 D 12 volt battery was initially replaced October 2019 for the first time. Then I've now just replaced it again. I don't think I did anything to shorten the life of it, but it was about half the life.

@@ElectricTechAdventures I really like the idea of the 12V Lithium battery. If I go that way I will have to get help from a friend. Let’s see how long the current Lead battery lasts.

My OHMMU failed at 6 months. I recommend using the Tesla battery

Thanks for the data point. My OHMMU battery is still going strong 26 months later. I'll report back here in this video comments when it fails.

The Tesla software does not like these batteries as to why many get failures, they won’t be charged as the system see’s though the software faults, and wont charge the OHMMU battery and that triggers the screen warnings “battery needs replacing”.

@@TheKingOfBellerose I have never received any errors after 26 months so far. Clearly this is not a universal problem.

@@ElectricTechAdventuresglad to hear this. I just ordered one for my 2017 MS90D. But now that I’m digging into this product further I’m seeing so many horror stories. But many of the threads seem to be with the Model 3 and Y. Hoping to have the same experience you’ve had!

I agree, the problems appear to be with the 3 and Y. I've had no problems since Nov 2021, nearly 3 years.

Saw this battery awhile back. Probably will buy one once the old SLA dies on my Leaf.

I would definitely buy the OHMMU asap if I lived in a very hot climate like Phoenix. My lead acid battery is 3-1/2 years old in my Model 3, but is live in a very mild Pacific coast climate. Occasionally Tesla's software does change and OHMMU users have had "replace lead acid battery" messages pop up. OHMMU has to figure out how to make their battery play nice with Tesla's new software. I might want to change my battery now because of what you said about the more stable voltage that the lithium battery will provide, because I do have the occasional gremlins.

I've heard of the Tesla firmware issues, but that has only effected the Model 3 and Y so far as far as I know and from what I heard they were working hard to determine a fix for those issues. Thanks for watching!

I am ready to order, but they are out of stock on Model 3 batteries. I left my email to be notified when they are available. I just have to think about a dumpster fire and then I will remember "Dunster"! I bet that you've heard that a million times already?

Haha yes I've heard that a few times, hopefully my videos are better than dumpster fires! :) I wish you the best getting your battery sooner than later, these days shortages are disturbingly common across most or all industries unfortunately.
