We (USA) spent about a trillion dollars on our military each year - imagine how many Diamondboxx XL2s you can bring to the party with that kind of money!
Hitting that much excursion straight out of the box wasn't maybe the brightest idea after saying the elements felt very stiff. Especially a quality subwoofer element suspensions should always be ''ran in'' with low frequencies using little current and progressively rising it over time. 6:22 just hurts me inside :(
When companies test their driver specs they actually run them in with high level 20hz sine waves to settle in the suspension so the parameters are accurate. Where's the science that says you need to ease them into it?
No speaker needs a break in, this myth was created by uneducated idiots that know nothing about speakers. Speakers are not shoes they don’t need breaking in pure nonsense.
You look great, Jack. Confidence! I will warn you, though, because I noticed: Don't rub the paint on the spring clips. The paint rubs of extremely easily.
I keep hearing of Dayton from USA and I'm able to make my own cabinets on my own but have always worried about the sound quality in general. I've currently got Polk Audio RTI A1 fronts and rear and not sure if it would be a set back in sound if I make my own Daytons with their speakers and cross overs to replace.
Dayton makes some great drivers and speakers. The higher end stuff is definitely better than what they put into polk speakers these days, especially the Dayton subs. I have a 15" Titanic Mark IV (came out before the Ultimax) and pushing it with a 640w plate amp. Built the cabinet myself. It is incredible and has taken a beating. No loss in quality it is just STOUT and sounds great and clean.
this vid is finishing my liked section perfect 1000th liked vid haha great job m8 these subs on this vid sound even good with that huge ass distortion #damnyoumicrophones!
what would you need bare minimum to power and use 2 of these like your using them now ? and being from the uk you play the one bugzy malone song i plan to use hahaha
You put those in the right box and run them on 1 ohm youre gonna be in heaven. I hooked 2 of those up in a perfect spec box at 1 ohm 1000 watt with JBL speakers all around. Sounds amazingly clean and i domt even have an eq. Did the same thing in my pops and paid $600 bucks for an eq and grabbed a thousand dollar mic and had them tuned thru a laptop and barely made a difference. Of anyome needs a secomd opiniom here it is. Those subs are clean and punch!
Hi,I have a problem with my sub,it's an active one,but at a certain volume, the amplifier itself at the back start to vibrate and make weird noise, how can I fix that ? Cheers from France
I'm building a boombox with stuff I have lying around, i have a 5 inch component set and those ebay "50"x2 and "100"w sub, is there any sub under50€6and 6 1/2" that can add base to the boombox? I was thinking passive radiator but then i'd be wasting half of the amp.. Is there a good alternative in europe?
DJSNDCX I am building a "portable" boombox with stuff I have lying around,i have a set component speakers and one of those tda3116 chinese amplifiers that supposedly do 50w x 2 and 100w meaning a 2.1 amplifier. I was asking if there is a cheap subwoofer that can fit in a relatively small enclosure and still dish out enough lows to humiliate the bose bluetooth speakers...
DJSNDCX space is kind of limited but not really, it just has to fit in a backpack, i don,t mind lugging it around cinsidering I built another boombox with a 10"sub, 6x9 speakers, 2 car amplifiers and a car battery.

hey my dayton audio reference ho 12s just came in and i thought they were supposed to be dual voice coil bit theirs only one set of leads on the speaker is this right or not
The references are different from these I'm pretty sure. There are two versions: these, the HO (high output, good for cars) and the Reference (less power & distortion and better for HiFi)
There's two versions of the HO. Dual 4 ohm or a single 4 ohm voice coil. You can tell by the name. At the end you'll see "4" or "44" the "4" meaning a single 4 ohm voice coil and "44" meaning dual 4 ohm voice coils. Know this is an old comment but figured I'd answer the question.

Aaron bilger I have no experience with the Skar Audio but the Dayton HO 15 does a good job for its price. But don't expect it to be too musical, unless you are willing to use a sealed box, which will not reach as deep as a ported one
@@Alph92 Wow, three years later :-) Still seems like a waste of time to me. I am sure the spider can use breaking in but that can happen in normal use. Driving a sub with no enclosure can easily cause over excursion.
@@gregkramer5588 depends on. If you don't overdo it with power it is reasonably safe. look for "dd audio break in" they explain it very well why you should break in subwoofers. short version: when you construct a subwoofer box you need to do it according to true and broken in ts parameters. not the ones the datasheet gives you.
Some good woofers can definitely exceed their rating as long as they're given clean power. Pole piece venting is key here. Heat is a coil's enemy. I for example can run this 30Watt rated woofer in a well pressurizing box up to 60Watts continuously, and have it play clean. Often, the mechanical limits are reached before the thermals are (with clean power) so a good box is rather key to success.

The subwoofer bass sound soo awesome
It's weird. I watch these kind of videos, even though I'm barely interested in audio. I just kind of find it fascinating.

Sno116 no this does not damage subs

lol you got told
No speaker needs a break in, this myth was created by uneducated idiots that know nothing about speakers. Speakers are not shoes they don’t need breaking in pure nonsense.
well actually if its plaing hard then it may need to cool down for a period of time because if it gets to hot it will damage the voicecoil
can someone please explain to me why some speakers have the + and - on 2 sides instead if just 1?
That means they have two entirely seperate coils. They can be placed in parallel, halving the impedance; or in series, doubling it.
DJSNDCX now i understand. thank you💪
MUSTANG0012 because they want to 😂😂😂
That means that the woofer has a dual voice coil. It means 2 coils in the speaker.
For each terminal, there is one voice coil. That is called a dual voice coil subwoofer
that first track made my seismic audio tremor 18's go bonkers! hahahaha! congrats on the new subs dude!
why u sold the big subwoofers for this one ?
evo.gtr33 modz bcuz those in the right box will sound way better and will go way lower.
evo.gtr33 modz car sub's hit lower than his older ones.I think those are car subs
evo.gtr33 modz his other ones were to loud for the area and didn't hit lows
dylan Behr they hit lows, just not how those would . car sub's can hit 18hz PA speakers.struggle
these arent car subs, they're made for home theater applications and are frequently used for that.

Are these good for block parties if not what would you prefer for maximum loudness and affordability

what speakers would you suggest for a party about 30-50 people?

Where are your pro audio subs
Mercadies Brooo he sold them like a year ago
how do you know you limit volume output for a speaker. im scared to blow my speakers.....
Daan Cornet read manual or listen for noise or smell or heat
If it’s starts to sound distorted, turn it down. If it begins to get warm, or stink a little, turn it down. You’ll know when it is being overpowered.

you need accoustic treatment foam bro and bass traps ASAP (you have a lot of reverb)
Jim Ro that foam things don't do anything. You have to treat rooms with rockwool or fiberglass! Go to Acoustic Fields channel and learn some stuff
