Please don't ever stop doing the "Bought sight unseen, Will it make it home?" Series. These are absolutely my favorite.
These are my favorite videos on UA-cam can't get enough!
Literally why I watch
Yeah, same! :)
Seriously he is the OG of will it make it home.. probley not 😂
He literally never stops telling people that the revivals are here to stay. Chill, my guy.
Great episode, Derek. You make us feel like we're on Power Tour with you all.
You're right Cranky. Derek is the true spirit of the Tour.
Glad to hear it!
Derek's videos always makes a feller feel involved in the journey.
Thanks Derek
@@ViceGripGarageI bet that ford would look awesome with your shine juice, slammed the same with same rims as the other truck, with some cool tint, just saying, imho👍
There's not much that's more satisfying than driving off in your new project before finding all the pros and cons, before making it your own.
My hubby and I are huge fans!! We live 13 miles from The Rock in Rockingham. We went to see you guys there and looked and looked and walked and walked !! I told my hubby I wasn’t leaving till we met and and your crew ! We finally came to the conclusion that something must have happened to have kept you from making it. We love watching your channel and I bet I could tear down an engine all by myself. Of course my hubby has subjected me to years of car shows! He is building a 1973 Ford F350 dump truck into a Rat Rod. He is having a blast !Thanks for all your inspiration !! Good luck!
You, sir, are definitely one of the most prominent positive figures of the regular guy and gal car community. And that's what I appreciates about ya.
Thanks for the kind words
Eric Lindquist appreciates things too.
Oh is THAT what you appreciates about him? Pitter patter
@@ViceGripGaragedo a Mopar wagon lol 70’s
Appreciate the hand gestures as you're talking at some inanimate object 😂 good stuffs
Thank you Derek for showing the reality of being a car guy. With the breakdowns and issues along the way, your attitude and perspective through it all is great!
Most of the good "car guy/gal" stories come from the journey, not the shows! It's never guaranteed you'll get where you want to in these old rigs...and that's the fun.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@DakarRaider These are old machines! Literally hundreds of 50+year old crucial bits, each of which can fail at any time. Not to mention many MANY years of rebuilds, replacements, new parts, "new" parts and downright juryrigs holding them together.
But they have bags of class!
If you want to go from A to B without issues, take the train! If you want an adventure, drive an old car :)
The clip of Longmire driving down the dirt road is iconic!
The irony 66 chevy on tour with a 66 Ford still perfect @Vice Grip Garage
A revival and power tour!
Only # VGG can pull this off! 🤪😬👍
It's official. HRPT is a bucket list item. Looks like a challenge and a heck of a lot of fun.
It sure is!
I am going to try an drag my 67 ford falcon to it next year hopefully
Bought a truck in October of last year and was hoping to get it running to got hrpt and we'll can't find the parts I need and a budget friendly engine..and it needs alot of rust repair ..also been to busy to work on it..
Is there anything like it on the West Coast. I live in California and would like to do something like it.
I know it’s a sensitive issue but I’d love to know even a ballpark figure for an old truck like this. Would absolute love one back in the uk but only ever see beautifully restored mega expensive examples this side of the pond.
Hate I didn’t get to meet y’all at Rockingham. But we understand completely that things happen beyond our control. Hope y’all have a safe rest of your trip and thank you for all the great content and the hard work y’all do
Thank you! Maybe next year
Love the '66 F100! We have one that was my grandpa's and it runs like a top. My son was driving it to school for the last week of his senior year and had a pair of geese take out the windshield and a side window. Can't wait to get glass back in it to cruise around and road farm this summer!
I’m pretty sure you might want to question the boy again.. and all my life I have never heard of geese, flying into a windshield, or even taken out a side window ? I don’t think he’s quite telling you the whole story.
It was hard for me to believe too! He took pictures of the two geese that he hit and a neighbor couple stopped to help clear the glass off the seat since I was at work already. We just picked up a donor cab with a good windshield in it to swap in so we will have it ready for cruising again soon!
I would believe that story about the geese l got hawk once it toke out the windscreen of a linehaul truck l was driving
Once power tour is over I'd love to see some content on that old Ford! A rebuild of that 302 would be amazing, should keep this one!
Derek love what your doing and find your family very inspirational. A family who plays together stays together. I’d name the Ford “Plan B” kind of fitting
Maybe name it plan F lolol
Love these adventures!! Don’t ever stop! Retire? No, you can’t.
We all love you Derek and a majority of us knows that sh!t happens. Keep doing your thing and safe travels to you and your crew.
Man this is the VGG I fell in love with. Only Derek goes and buys a ride a decade older than the one that broke down on him. Lol. Love it!!! Stay safe out there.
Love the old Fords. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
I don't think I'll ever get the opportunity to go on Power Tour (including because my mechanical ability is so low I actually make people worse at working on cars just by being nearby), but I can live vicariously through watching these videos!
I mis the days of carorators and points poi8iwa ablto troublshoot and work on them kind of cars
🤔😵💫
I I totally agree ndits a shame
I learned to drive in this truck with the 352. I also learned to work on a truck and do burnouts. This really takes me back. 😊❤
This put a big smile on my face! I've been waiting for you to do a video on one of these '60s Fords, Derek! I have a factory 1965 F-250 4x4 with the original 352 that I've owned for the past 6 years. Hope that F-100 is good to you. Keep on, keepin on!
The 352 was a great Ford engine but you don't hear a lot of talk about them. They didn't tend to be one of the Ford engines that had vapor locking problems. Good strong engine.
This reminds me of some of the rally’s I had as a kid. I was so focused on breakdowns I failed to enjoy the ride and scenery. We always made it through, but we didn’t know that then. Money was always an issue. What’s great about these videos is that you will be able to see them when your old and broken like I am now. I know I sure enjoy them! Thank You!.
(at 1:09 in the bed of the truck)>>>Have had the JNC 660 jump box for 15 years now. Still jumps any vehicle and have used it to run back home on, for about an hour of drive time. It still had life left. Now they have a JNC 770R. Thanks for the vid Big D.
You have to be in one of the most calmest guys I’ve ever seen. I would be going crazy with all of those problems on the street.😂 love your videos I love riding along with you and your family. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Thanks for watching
My favorite wrencher on the ole UA-cam. Never gets old being part of your journeys
My Dad had the same '66 Ford F-100 with a straight 6 and "3 on the tree". I was born in '66 and learn to drive in that truck around the backroads of southern Georgia in '77 or '78. Very cool having 66 Ford and Chevy.
Imma ride my vice grip garage vehicle everywhere, proudly smiling everywhere I go, with my vice grip garage cap on , and even though I'm dreaming , hey who knows anything is possible with vice grip...
Sort of ironic that you and Chad, not the other Chad, ended up scooting around in a '66 Ford and a '66 Chevy. Pretty neat...
Man that old Ford is sweet. Definitely loved on mechanically. Would be a cool truck to do the similar treatment Longmire has.
Right! Us Ford guys need some content lol would love to see it get EFI or maybe even a budget rebuild! hope he keeps this one
Just made my day Derek! Man do I love seeing notifications for your videos! I hope you and the family remain blessed ✊🏼
I love it when he does these events and we get daily videos. Must be an awful lot of work to get the content out so fast though!
I feel like I've just been on a summer road trip with the Vicegripgarage crew. Amazing the quality content being delivered day after day.
I think you should name the new f100 Dumpside as she keeps on dumping you at the side of the road .
Thanks for hanging out!
A guy really is enjoying the power tour content and I ain't kiddin ya.
One of these days I'd love to go on this adventure with all you guys. I feel like the breakdowns are half the fun! Good luck on the rest of your trip, sir.
Yeah it's fun especially when we can sit back and watch him doing all the work and worry instead of us lol
@@carpenter5575personally I’d rather jump in and help
Yep another fantastic video 🎉🎉 love all that you do Derek Jessica and and crew
if i won the car i would just let you keep it and the money as well. you're truly good people and that's hard to find today
I was thinking the same thing if his wife loves the car just keep it now the cash only take half lol, good people are getting hard to find nowadays.
i have the upmost respect for your knowledge base with these cars. Whilst makimg the videos fun and informative at same time. Not easy to do, but you and family, friends manage to do every episode
Thankyou from U.K 😁
Thanks for the kind words
I think we need to see his and hers bagged 66's! That would be an awesome build series!!
Its such a blast working on these old things and heading home with them. Especially when they break down a few times on the way. Then you get to make more will it run videos. Its really neato when that happens
I love this channel and love these guys and their love of these old rigs. I feel like I’m on vacation on the Power Tour! Your fans will forgive you since they know a feller tried to do what he had to do!!
Thanks Derek and wife + every body...🇺🇸
My dad traded for a 65 Ford truck for me when I was 15 years old. That was in the 80's. Good to see a Ford on here since you shy away from them.
Gotta say, that 66 ford has a ton of potential! Good find👍 maybe if you add more chrome it will get you home? Or is it chrome don’t get you home? I’m not sure, but either way enjoy the power tour!
The carburetor adventure was hilarious! As an employee of AutoZone I've come to the conclusion that all the parts stores have that one person... some worse than others and it makes dealing with them a bear especially when you get the guy with absolutely no car knowledge...
I have elcamino guy ask me at auto parts store if it was a Ford or dodge didn't even ask if it was a chevy
I hear ya, so much for needing automotive knowledge to work at these places. Then you have oreilly who seems to be a stickler or used to be on having ase certificates to sell parts.
I probably know more than some of these kids in these places.
What I found nice , was their willingness to learn , from the ones I have been in contact with. And it makes me feel as if I've done something good, when I can pass on something that I know to the younger generation. But yes , sometimes I gotta smh.☺️
Well I've worked at Advance its also the customers...I had one guy asking a price of a coparator..for a Oldsmobile Buick...hmmm
That V-8 is cool I've never seen a prettier one if I say so myself, I love the square body style.
That zip tie moment cracked me up, great episode!
Whoever wins that Dew car should give it to Jessica...she really loves that car!
61 through 66 body style was always nice. Derek, the old Ford pickups are almost indestructible.
You're a trooper and have a solid crew of friends and family, that is, keep on trucking! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Just went and bought a 1979 f250 lariat 460 sight unseen and drove it 12 hours home. I watched probably 10 of these videos in a row for inspiration before making the trip
absolutely love the authenticity of your videos, one vehicle went down and you made a plan to revive another truck to show us its just that easy!!!!great content
Love the crew cab, but things happen for a reason… look at the cool truck you found because of it! Nice!
Oh, man. The Dew Car. 😥💔 I saw Jessica falling in love with it at first sight and since that moment, every time I see it, I feel devastated that it's a giveaway car. And here, at 30:05 my heart breaks again as she says she's willing to buy it back from whoever wins it. Dang it. It's gut wrenching, I'm not gonna lie. Much love to you all.
I know right, I would trade her the Buick for the ford no need to buy it back. I’m sure Jessica would be ok with trade
@@rjlacaillade2519 Right on!
Having such a good woman helps your personal growth, happiness, & success.
If it were me, I'd do everything I could to get her that car, she's worth all that & so much more.
Do we see a Dew car in Jessica's future? stay tuned to find out
Love this episode! What a great truck. It’s amazing to see what you can do. Grew up working on my dad’s 62 Ford 1 ton flatbed dump truck. Still looking for one to pick up and work on with my kids. Thanks for all the fun content you create!
Loving the power tour series. The autozone carb bit had me spitting my coffee all over the keyboard.
Nice truck. Reminds me of the 1980 Ford F100 I used to own. Had a 300ci straight 6 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a granny gear. Fun truck. Wish I still had it.
Sorry about the problems you’re having, but thanks for being us along! It feels like we’re right out there with you!
"Confused about what a carburetor was, but we got through that together." I'm rolling😂.
I miss the the old time parts house guys that knew everything in the store.
Gorgeous old Ford f100 Derek @Vice Grip Garage
Only VGG could pull this off way to go Derek Jessica i hope can buy it back you look perfect perfect driving it. Y'all becareful and keep having fun !!!!
Eric this is my favorite episode, my dad's brother had a 1964 black with red interior, was a good mechanic and kept like new. Enjoy all your videos...
Another Fun Adventure ! A few years back my brother and I went to MKE, WI for the Hot Rod Power event at State fair park, great day !
Cars & Food etc. Stuff ! Looking for your 2024 Power Tour Video
I’m shocked that it turned over so quickly, and that you didn’t have to push the clutch in. I’m in love.
Older truck didn’t have that funky safety switch like the new ones
I absolutely love these type of videos. Keep it up!
Thanks Derek and crew for all you do!
Problem solving Derek, that's what VGG is all about.
Man. nice I had a 64 F100 short bed with 240 6cyl, three on the tree fun truck !
2:00 - Very cool turning that corner and seeing those hotrods waiting for you. That's what I would call main-character parking spots!
Best of luck for tomorrow for all of you. This has been one heck of a ride. As the saying goes, stuff happens😊
Boy guys and girls, I can't wait to actually not be dreaming of vice grip garage or just watching it on my phone and either be riding in a vice grip garage vehicle, or driving one, it's gone be like getting a brand new vehicle off the show room floor for me, I'm not kidding , if only I had one last wish...
These things are sent to test us, Derek. We know you wanted to meet everyone, but this has turned into one of the most unique revivals you have done for a while.
if i won that car i'd turn right around and give it back to jessica. i can tell how much she loves it. great video derrick. this made my day. i've been out of sorts all day long and this brought me out of it. thank you brother. enjoy the rest of power tour.
Heck, she could have the car if Derek would be willing to give me the F100 instead LOL.
@@wildbill23c i leaning towards the bonniville lol. or la sabre i love land yachts
He has plenty of nice cars in his fleet that I would trade if I won the Dew car.
Your on the road that's what counts! Was my best comment!.... keep on trucking! Keep on keeping on dude good job to all your team of friends and family !!
Love how you remain calm, Derek. Thanks for being my therapy and sorry you're having bad luck, but you deal with it so well!
Totally love this era of Ford trucks...plus, black with a red interior is just the coolest colour combo too!❤
Derek, you sure roll the dice. Glad you made it safely so far.
Keep doing what your doing. I've been watching since the blue Camaro you got running just using your iPhone lol. It's amazing to see your channel grow since the beginning.
It was great to vicariously be on the trip with you all. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Does that make me weird? I owned a 66' F100 in the 90s. Mine had the 240 6 cyl. It had the "flow through" rear main seal so I couldn't park it uphill but other than that it was fine unit. If I was forced to park it uphill, it would look like a 73' Harley had parked there. Some wonderful memories in that truck! Thanks Derek and crew!!
Really liking that you put in more live action video on the over the road montages. Bummer you had mic issues. If it alleviates any guilt at all, maybe have Jessa stick around and let whomever is left over (and if you've gotten the rigs ready to go again), maybe let everyone at the venue either facetime or just audio and be able to say a quick hello one liner to each person. Like a handshake you do when they call your category up and there's still a line of people. It's not a full greet but maybe it can help make disappointment less for the fans. Because I know when things don't work out because I'm too far back I feel a lot of disappointment too. Because I didn't get to do what I set out to. I'm sure it can help. Both parties.
Again, I'd like to thank Jessica for taking great care of my Mountain Dew Buick. 😂 Thank you, Jessica.
This reminds me of my younger days. No way to romanticize this, driving around in junkers is a pain in the butt. I hope your luck gets better. Love your channel.
Driving around in old junkers is what makes life interesting!
This guy did a fantastic job on the mechanics.
Breaks down and turns it into a exiting sight unseen episode, you are a true boss Derek!
I wish you the best of luck to get to the next event. Has always been a pleasure to meet you and your family. You never disappoint.
I love how you set up extra cameras to catch everything. PERFECT!!!
Always enjoy VGG. Now my wife understands why I carry a tote with some repair items whenever we travel.
Gorgeous 66 Ford F100 Custom Cab Long bed Sweet rig Derek oh nice 302 with a 3 speed perfect love the patina @Vice Grip Garage
This was a great video. This is what I watch you for. Problems be damned you work your way through them. Smile be happy. I tell ya if I won that car, I would trade you for the Ford truck ya just bought. We both be happy.😊
That's what I was thinking.
Finally a Ford! I love it!
Thanks for taking us along with you and your family VGG!
1st truck I ever drove was 66 f100 black with a stick. Dad repainted it. Had a white grill. He had camper mirrors on his and it had a 300 Inline 6. Thanks for bringing back so many memories
You make buying and replacing a carb look so easy. Your like a surgeon of motors.
G’day Derek, I love how you left the dew car out front with the engine running while you did the bank withdrawal 😂
A guy is really enjoying all the vids lately. Making his week alot better. Love all your vids. Keep it up we truly appreciate you and the family.
Love the “new” ride. Happy Father’s Day Derek. Thank you for taking me along on Power Tour this year!
Boy I wish I knew you were 2 minutes from the house, I would recognize Longmire anywhere... love the channel
I'd love to bring my LT1 swapped 85 IROC on HRPT. I am in the Northeast, so it's a big commitment but definitely on my bucket list!
Great video, sweet truck!
So these are my favorite trucks. Ive got countless hours into working on them. Biggest issue i saw with this one is the wet floor. Often times, it's a rusted out cowl, that leaks water into cab (not the weather stripping, as many craigslist experts tend to say.).
Hello,
In the mid 80's I had three different 1965 Ford F100's.
The first one had the 300 inline 6 cylinder with the custom cab. The second one had a 289 v8 with the regular cab. I had to build a flat bed for it. I drove it from Michigan to Arkansas and didn't even think twice about it, not making it that far. Never had any problems with it until the day I left to go back to Michigan, and I had to replace the starter.
The 3rd one had the 6cyl with a four-speed trans with granny gear. I love the 65 Ford.
A revival with in power tour. Not sketchy at all Nope. Perfect 👌
Sometimes it ain’t meant to be but you gave it your best and that’s what matters. Thoroughly impressed as to what can be repaired on the side of the road.
Sweet ride and glad you pulled everything together so fast! If you want to see something funny both of you are looking at traffic at the same time at 21:23 and that would be hilarious on a loop to 21:35
Derek, a nice touch for these older vehicles would be to carry a set of allen wrenches and a 5/8, 7/8 or 15/16 wrench and snug down on the steering box play to make drivability so much better. It makes a vehicle steer so much better with zero money and 2 minutes of time. Showing people how easy it is to change the whole feel of the vehicle would be very beneficial for your patrons.
I hate we missed you guys today at concord, hopefully we’ll get to meet a feller and friends tomorrow in Bristol!
