The 1 to 10 numbering of wetness for the brush is the best tip ever. I have struggled so much with trying to figure out water ratio and was focusing more on paper and paint wetness. This has helped me immensely! Thank you very much!
Finally! A channel that really gets into the very basics of watercolors for beginners ❤️ and the right ratio for water and paint in your brush…thank you! Hopefully after binge watching your channel I’ll also learn the watercolor lingo.
This valuable information is what I have been looking for on YT for a long time. I've been painting with watercolor for 2 years, but sometimes when I leave it for a while I seem to relapse into forgetting how to start over. These videos give me the courage to start working again with more confidence.Thank you very very much Mr. Stan Miller!
I am so happy you are back. Few years ago I found your videos from another youtuber recommendation. That time I watched your informative videos many many times and of course "water control in brush" video as well. And I started to understand this medium. Thank you so much. The wetness of paper is another challenging problem. Somehow I cannot overcome the fear of wasting expensive materials like paper and paint to practice.
I have noticed a fair few watercolour artists have little strips of masking tape wrapped around their brushes, is that purely a comfort thing or does it serve another purpose?

If I have two identical brushes, but one is new, the other is older, I put tape around the new one...because it is in better condition.
@@Stanleylestermiller Ah, that makes sense, thank you
My teacher did this to know which brushes he lent out to people so they didn't end up accidentally stealing.
What a very nicely made tutorial! Thanks for sharing! You have a new subbie!
WOW. Thank you!!!!!
