      I don't know if I followed this guy 7 or more years ago. I used to follow some Australian guy who painted and gave little bite-sized tips. I learned really quickly from him. Is this that guy?

    love this short format! and thanks for starting from some of the fundamentals, it's always important to remember them and they often get glossed over in other videos and tutorials. I've just today found your channel, and what a blessing it's been! You're teaching and explaining things that no-one else I've watched has done (and I've watched tons of videos!). Thank you. I especially love that you explained to dip your brush in different pigments to get a variety of colors on the wash. This is what really sets a painting apart and I can't thank you enough for sharing that. I've subscribed, and look forward to learning more from you! God bless you.

    Thank you so much for your kindness on sharing these lessons with us! S2 Learning by myself has been tough sometimes since there's a lot to understand of the processes of painting watercolor. I observe the tecniques on videos and I've been wishing a lesson like yours. Make me so grateful! I resonated with what you said in the begining of the lesson about the way we set ourselves for painting... get things clear, since we work with water. I love clouds and I admire ours. I'm a begginer and learning! Thank you again S2

    wow, first video I've watched of yours and that dry brush technique is a serious game changer. It is so different than what is taught by everyone else and seems counter intuitive to push harder but it's so effortless. Confidently brushing pays off. thanks, I've been really struggling with dry brush and getting that texture

    Find your work inspirational, left Suffolk 60 years ago and now in retirement I enjoy water colour painting local scenes from old (B and W) photographs of Eye which takes me right back there. Your water colour tips and hints makes it simple for me to create the Suffolk atmosphere I want from the other side of the world. Your instructional technique is a pleasure to listen to.

    I seriously started learning watercolour painting three years ago and still find your classes extremely helpful. Watercolour is a skill and all skills are ‘learnt’ and you get out of those skills what you put (or pun, paint ). So thank you for sharing. I bought several of your tutorials on your website which I still refer to and I have gained so much over this last year. You take out all the mystery and say it as it is, which I like as it is easy to follow and now know there is ‘no mystery’ 😊 I tried the so called freestyle painting but it is not for me. This way is much more relaxing and I achieve far better paintings. Happy painting ✏️🎨🖍️

    • @AndrewPittArtist
      @AndrewPittArtist  Рік тому

      Many thanks for your support and encouragement. I think the so-called ‘freestyle’ is more about the ego of the artist showing off. I have not learnt anything from watching this way of painting. www.andrewpitt.co.uk

    Great video! One smell recommendation/request is to explain the 'why' of your recommendations. For example, "Paint top to bottom. This helps to maintain a wet edge" (I assume this is your why), or "Paint from the outside in, because..." While I wouldn't consider myself a beginner, hearing other painters explain the why of their techniques helps me to better connect it with my own experiences and therefore better apply it.

    Thank you Andrew. I have just subscribed, and look forward to your beginner series. it's so helpful to see how others paint. I get hard edges when I paint from the outside in on a large area, so I can't wait to give your instructions a go.

    This was very helpful. I have an ink sketch of a photo I took, an old barn and it's been sitting unpainted because I wasn't sure how to tackle it. I'll give these techniques a try!!

    Thanks a lot for starting a series of basic fundamentals and it’s really helpful for the beginner and I am very beginner. So one thing I want to suggest you to add in your future videos that if you can describe the strokes which your are painting like upwards , horizontal or vertical or diagonal. Coz I am struggling with this and no you tube artist tell you this Ana’s I watched so many videos. It’s really super nice of you if you can make another series or something like how to show depth with strokes and how to give feel of heights or depth or valley. And what kind of strokes we need to use. Like if painting water fall stroke should be from top to bottom vertically. I hope I make you understand that what beginners are looking for and if you can help with this.. Thanks again for awesome series and its really helping
