Free Camping On Public Land With Tent And Wood Stove
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2019
- Great little camping spot on crown land. Here in Canada we are allowed to camp for free up to 21 days in the same spot, after that you have to move your camp at least 100 meters away. The biggest challenge is finding crown land to camp on, and finding access to the crown land. Often there is private property blocking access to the public land so it can be a challenge. I brought my wife with me and we had a blast! Hunker down my friends!

"Don't do anything that I do. Now you're camping with Steve."...lol. I love it!
Yup, gotta love it. My pops used to say, " "Don't do as I do, Do as I say." This one, like Steve's otter videos, as real as it gets.
Fwoomp! Perfectly lit gasoline-accelerated fire. On top of the rules he listed, the most important one is: light the fire ASAP once the gas is out of the can. (Especially in warmer weather, it is rapidly expanding into an explosive cloud that will ruin your day.) Also best to avoid using gas to start a barrel fire as you will likely be firing off a blunderbuss.
Steve, you sure seem like a cool guy to hunker down and enjoy a beer with
And after the beer... We may find ourselves smoochin' one another... Like MEN!
I'd hitch off island for a camp out,
@@MadRandomCollectable haha ya like men!
Just as I thought. Gay boys.
@ and?
Drinking wine out of a water bottle. Now you're camping with Steve.
Why doesn't he just drink it from the bottle?
@@ChesterLivingstonIII Because that wouldn't be camping with Steve!
Wine will kill it, whiskey better
Despiser Despised environmentalists want you not to use plastic water bottles at all you doofus. You really be talking out of your ass
Jesus did turn water into wine. You can put in the water bottle and say it's water.
stumbled upon your videos accidentally, and I'm hooked. What a great little hidden gem in youtubeland.
Isnt that the truth
yes!
Same here man
2:38 🤣🤣 thanks for leaving that blooper in, that was priceless!
😅😅😅
ahaha it looks like he falls over sideways but it's the camera
The wind was a bit more windy than i anticipated.
Agreed
Boulders! lol F me. Best channel ever!
"The wind was a little more windy than i had anticipated." - Steve Wallis, 2020
"Don't Do anything that I do! Now you're Camping with Steve!" OMG you are awesome!
Boy I tell ya, Camping with Steve never gets old.
I use to camp all the time when I was a teenager, I haven't been in 25 years or so. I found your channel a few days ago, now the wife and I are planning a camping trip for the end of the month. Thanks for the inspiration to get back out there and enjoy the great outdoors!
Another possible camper in the future...... Thats Awesome, Just go out and have some fun. we do 😀
Sounds like you will need to hunker down
So how was it??
Steve, those night shots of the campfire with the coyotes yelping in the background was seriously beautiful….and haunting. You have really become quite proficient at getting quality shots.
Your videos are easily some of the most relaxing anywhere on UA-cam. My dog and I are here in bed, in New England USA, watching you camp and wishing we were camping along with you. Just really lovely content and I appreciate all your videos. Thanks Steve! Keep up the great work!
Same here...only it's me & my old cat, Jack...lol...
Hunker Down!
This is the funniest camping trip I have ever seen, LOL, a walking tent! That is a first and than a rolling tent, could this get any better? I love it. Completely un-planned humor. AWESOME.
If you think that's funny imagine being on a camping trip with Steve. It would be better than Disneyland.
Words I live by: "Legally, I think...."
Lol
Chris Frederick lol
and "on sale"
Similar words have gotten me out of more potential scrapes with California forest Rangers than I wanna think about....
Lmao. I read this exactly as he was saying it
Always a good day when you get home from work and Steve has a video waiting
and those few who hit the dislike prob hit it by accident ^^
@@rene4761 totally man ive done it before and was like wtf ... alcohol
Steve, thank you so much. I'm in Seattle and am pretty sure my family and I are in the process of recovering from COVID-19 (we couldn't get tested). Please don't worry about us as we are all getting better everyday. Anyway the stress of all this has been making sleep very difficult for me and watching your videos seems to really help me relax and disengage from all the stressors of the current situation and get my mind into a place where I can get some sleep.
I love people like Steve, you can tell he just loves camping. In a world where you see the biggest and loudest things out there, you got people like Steve who enjoy the simplest things in life ☺️
"time to Bushcraft a fire"
Immediately whips out pre-cut wood, a gas can and a lighter.
Sometimes I think he's almost doing a parody
lol
Build a fire
Use gasoline
Step 2
Have steps 3, 4, and 5
Cook dinner
Relax
Add more wood to fire
Fix sleeping set up
TIME TO HUNKER DOWN
Bushcraft fire 3.0, stack pre-cut wood, pull out flame thrower.
"Now you're camping with Steve!"
The best kind of bushcraft, the kind you prepared for
"And I'll explain how I'm camping here, for free, legally....I think." Fuck I love it dude. Keep up the good work. 🤙🤙
truly, so many fucking rules here with so many if's and butts that like someone else said, do nothing stupid and even if there is a cop he probably wont enforce
Truly the Red Green of camping!
“I’m going to bush-craft a fire...” *dumps 2 gallons of gas on a wood pile LMAO
I love that you camp without going crazy on ultralight/cost/etc. Just enjoying the outdoors. I do the same here -- in the states in the midwest -- when I can.
I also respect your beautiful wife for (1) coming with you on this adventure, and (2) avoiding unnecessary publicity. That is a good woman there.
Hunker down and keep up the good work.
FOOMP!! "Now you're camping with Steve..." Love it!
Diggin' your "No BushCraft" policy. I'm just a camper, too. I bring everything in my truck canopy. Including a toilet. One made for semi-invalids that you park next to the bed. Full size on a frame.
Got it for free on Craigs list. Works great, keeps the wife happy. Me too.
Love your vids.
JL GIII I use the same thing in my tent or camper.
Omg semi invalid. Horrible but I had a chuckle
I just about spilled my beer when you tossed that meat into the fire, lol...never seen that approach to cooking steak before!!
SwampDonkey530 caveman cooking is the most common term used for that style lol
I have done it i would preffer to roast it with a decent stick when i have cooked in the fire i legit threw it in the ash on a partially non burned pice of wood wipe the ash off its fine
Nasty
You’re like the Bob Ross of camping. So pleasant and content. 😊👍🏼
Just ordered myself two of those Hennesey hammocks I've seen you use .Taking my 10y/o nephew stealth camping next summer , we're both excited about it after watching you .
@Amy Sternheim Thanks Amy
Thanks Steve! You are going to inspire alot of folks to get out there! Including my beautiful wife and I!
Steve's wife here: Thanks so much for supporting Steve! We hope you have an amazing date in the great outdoors.
"I signed up for it she didn't" such a respectful husband. Good on ya brother
I was literally reading this comment as he said it, as well as thinking I wish beautiful wife would say hi. But I understand and definitely respectful on him.
She comments on some of his videos. Keep an eye open for it
Lol he said “legally I think” 😂 I swear love this guy! Oh crazy neighbor also! 😂 I swear this is the best channel on UA-cam!!!
Steve must have one of the best ratio's on You Tube.
It is infinity atm 😂
wouldn't happen without his beer fund.
No thumb's up for Steve, then you are obviously a DICK.
It sucks, because I love your videos so much. Have been binge watching for days. But every time I watch an older video, all I think about is how much time you have left with her. I'm so sorry for your loss.
"It's life changing." lol That was worth an upvote!
Thank you Steve, company I work for let me go along with others, they are moving the company to another state. No warning just a meeting and that was it for the day.
This whole day I just been blank, just empty not thinking. It might be shock idk, i feel so calm but that’s freaking me out now.
Your videos have helped me get through this day!!! Thank you so much you’re a whole some person and I hope I can get to live like you one day :)
I watched like five of them already since I found you. I wasn’t even looking for you. It was recommended. Absolutely grateful
Thank you Steve !!!
best content on youtube, thursdays couldn't be better we have camping with steve and thursday night football
I literally was thinking "I wish I knew more about that tent" when you so awesomely explained it. Really enjoy the content. Used to urban stealth camp back home in South Western Missouri. In fairness, the climate is more hospitable and it isn't unusual to find 2 to 3 acre spots of heavy woods in the city randomly strewn about.
Hes good at that
MunkyMeat same here it looked magical lol
another Missourian viewer here checking in
" urban stealth camping "
Definition : camping done by people who grew up in squalor and were homeless at one point because they were to lazy to work and had no drive in life and are still addicted to the thought that they dont need to fit in with society's rules or see it fitting to spend 15 dollars on a campsite when the 15$ could go to a 12 pack of the shittiest beer in the liquor store to drown the sorrows of you're rubby life.
@Sparrow Flying lol 😂 spoken like a true bum.
When you said you were going to make a bush craft fire, I was like thats so unlike you. Then you pull out a gas can hahahahha
How very bushcraft!
Right as I read your comment he said that
The tiger torch one was the best bush craft fire lmao
Man, Steve...you’ve got me fired up for spring here in Michigan to go north and camp! I’ve never went alone before, but I am now thanks to you and your videos. 👍🏻
"...legally, I think" the essence of camping with Steve. Just love it.
"Bear mace, for dangerous animals on four legs or two." Gotta watch out for those bears and Canadian Kangaroos people.
Dark Star King wasp spray for two legged human animals.
Or werebears, they’re native in Canada
My bear spray is made by Smith and Wesson
I love how you always call your wife "beautiful wife." It's so sweet to hear and I know how important it is to state the facts for your lady as often as possible; that they are BEAUTIFUL! I tell my lady that every day, still. Anyways, keep up the great content man!
YOU HAVE FOUND A WAY TO BE QUITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL OTHERS>>>LOVE YOUR SIMPLICITY >>>LOVE WHO YOU ARE>>>THANKYOU BROTHER FOR ALL YOU DO AND SHARE!
Awesome Vid Steve and 2 thumbs up 👍👍for picking up after someone else. I do the same when we are out and about. I used to have a tent that that when I lived in Ontario for ice fishing, now as you know from my channel I moved to a warmer climate and do Truck Camping....... Keep up the great work my friend.
You and Matthew Posa are my favourite campers.
No bs about how you're as good as Ray Mears at bushcraft.
Just two blokes winging it and learning by trial and error.
And just enjoying it.
BRIAN WILSON I ❤️ Matt and Monty! And of course Ruegs
Thanks for taking us along, Steve! Always great to tag along on your adventures. Just watching you enjoy the outdoor relieves some of my stress. Keep the vids comin!
Oh, that yipping and howling by the coyotes is such a soothing sound.
You don’t hear too may chimney sweep jokes these days lol.
I have been loving your videos so much I am inspired to hunker down in my tent tomorrow night! I can't wait long enough to plan a trip so I am just going to do it in my backyard, lol.
I can’t explain why I keep coming back to your channel. You are a entertaining guy. Thanks for this escapism.
Steve I love your urban stealth camping series. The boondocking movie was great also. I hope you will continue with the series and show us more fun and creative places to get outdoors and hunker down. It is very inspiring for those of us who live in the city or wish to travel and see the world without breaking the bank on accommodation.
OMG, did you get blown away with the tent or did the camera just fall over?! 😂
I choked
Haha, the camera just fell over. I was too scared to go check it at first. Was an exciting start to the camping trip
God bless you mike, you’ve inspired me to get out and see my beautiful country of Australia
Love this video. The wind gust, the food and just everything ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much Steve for these great adventures you share
I don't know why, but the tent flipping over just looks absolutely hilarious and I must have watched it 6 times in a row. I'm crying haha.
Hey man love the content, your humor, love for the outdoors, and useful laidback camping tips really makes to some nice videos after work. Cheers from Alabama
Oh man, watching you “bushcraft” that fire was awesome! Gave me a great laugh! ☺️🔥
I live in Ontario Steve. I told my niece that there are places in Ontario where anybody can camp for free. She said, “ No there isn’t.” Well thank you Steve and your Mrs. because now I can show her your video to say the big” Yes there is darling.” Thanks Steve. Peace Out. Love Sandy xoxo
0:58 I am so glad you left in the part with the little tent shuffle. Chefs kiss 👌
Hahah i laughed when the wind blew it over!. Happened to me icefishing had to chase my tent halfway accross the lake lol
Steve, I've been watching you for years now, but when the tent almost flew away I fully lost it 😂👍
Great stuff as always, Steve. Thanks for making the videos!
Steve seems very happy on this trip with beautiful wife . especially happy . really warms my heart . crazy beautiful they have found one another . and if you didn't see Steve's video "boondocking" you should . after seeing it I have a level of respect and soul love for my favorite camper
Does anybody else get hungry watching Steve cook? ✌
I'm actually gonna try one of his "recipes" soon 😂 the homemade Arby's.
omgosh that shanty tent is AMAZING ! i love that design
Cosmic Shelf Minecraft is that what the tent is I've never seen one like 5his

I've been creeping your videos for a while now. Watching you light the fire cracked me up. "Now your camping with Steve"! You are a true entertainer Steve.
Your vids are always appreciated. Thanks for posting.
Love how you roll, dude!
the opening scene looks like a Bob Ross happy little sky and everything
Happy little accidents hahaha...
You have great confidence on camera no loud music over your voice brilliant camping video relaxing to watch well done Steve from 🇬🇧💙
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for keeping it beautiful.
Me and my kids have enjoyed watching your adventures Steve, we went primitive camping two weeks ago in Pennsylvania and absolutely loved it. We're already planning our next camping trip to West Virginia👍
Steve B How fun! Try to get over into Ohio. There’s a few free camping sites in the Harrison State Forest & scattered thru the state. Lots of free campsites in the Allegheny National Forest in PA.
West Virginia is such a beautiful state - so much nature to see.
Breaking out the wood stove, always cool to see.
What'cha doin' here, rabbi?
Thank you Steve, I really enjoy all of your videos...keep up the great work!
I would love to visit up there and go camping. The sounds of all the animals and the smell of camp fire is just so relaxing. I bet the stars are so bright there also.
STEVE!! Go hit up the hardware store and find some 8" nails and a washer that will fit on the nail. It will go into pretty much any ground you can camp on. I use them to peg a tent onto a gravel pad.
Welcome back to the snow, Steve in his PRIME
Yes!! Another video! Absolutely love watching your videos. Keep it up!
OMG Yes!!!!!!!! Wish you had a upload everyday!
RIght now - late october is my favorite time to go camping, less bugs, cool at night great for sleeping, - spring is too wet, winter - not for me, summer hot at night too many bugs.
The absolute best time of year for camping.
Yep, spring and autumn for me!
Too many bugs and PEOPLE!
@@lindasue8719 no question. Totally agree.
Dude, between you and the wooded beardsman I am developing a super duper addiction to Canadians! You really are just the most wonderful guy to watch and learn from. So even and respectful. I'm a big crazy neighbor fan as well. You guys are just fab!
100% correct sir on the smoke pipe connections. I am a burner tech for over 22 years. Both oil and solid wood burning appliances. Love the vids. Cheers from Newfoundland!
Hey Steve, new subscriber, have family that live near Edmonton, been there many times, and I feel for you my man... Keep that bear mace on you at all times 😂
If it isn't the best part of my Thursdays
I'm so pumped to see Steve camping in the heavy rain
Steve, you are fantastic. I want to go camping, again, now. You've made camping look fun again. Thank you.
that sideflip was awesome
The gazelle t4 tent is a good option that’s sort of like the tent in this video. Floor can be removed via Velcro and it has loops for tent pegs. I will be using a wood stove in it at some point but will make a hole for the stove jack in one of the mesh windows. Hunker down bro.
Ingenious bush-crafting of that fire! Haha. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed the video.
Thanks for your vids Steve , much respect from Calgary , helps me hunker down after a long shift at work !
Living in a van down by the river, excellent reference all you need is a van.
What a great name; "Crown lands" sounds like an area in Game of Thrones.
You have fun..Enjoy the video..keep them coming!!
Great videos Steve, keep up the great content. You make all us Canadians proud. It's nice to see a guy enjoy the things you do. I also enjoy this camping but only in Ontario. Keep up the good videos 👍🇨🇦
"Now you're camping with Steve!" love it mate! stumbled upon your videos, now binge watching!
I would buy the t-shirt!
I think many of us have. Gotta love the YT algorithm.
Me too!
My lady friends only like camping at 5 star hotels. My Gramps warned me: if a girl won't shit in the woods, keep walking.
The lighting of the fire...epic as usual Steve!
I like that you and the misses do the activities together..lucky man!!
"bushcraft fire"- uses gas, great sense of humor! lol
Good thing that gust of wind didn't occur when you had a fire going in that stove.
Noord for Rodney Dangerfield?
@James Smith its an anticamping channel
Love what you do. Went on a Steve binge over the last few days on my days off. 'Boondocking' reminds me a lot of my own life in the 2000s.
You’re awesome, Steve! I never thought watching a video of a guy hunkering down and camping would be so entertaining, but here I am.
I love how real steve is!
