- Took the Minelab Manticore metal detector out for some park metal detecting. I hit eight parks in four hours. Trying to beat the heat by starting before the sun is up!

Oh wow so many parks! Couple of good coin spills and lots of cool finds. The cars, the elephant earring and foreign coins are nice! Great hunt!

So true... I dig finding cars... lol.... Christine is so funny and has started something with her car noises... I do like the Manticore and the update is really helpful.

I use the same rubber tips on my Garrett as well but after about 6 months of pushing it through dirt and wood chips I eventually wear out the tips and just replace them. my old Garrett I never used rubber tips and so the plastic has worn down quite a bit so now it's just my backup pinpointer.
They are great at saving the tip of the pinpointer. I buy the three pack... never wanna be without them. Wow, you are really hard on the pointer. lol

@@DigginSoCal Thanks for listening in. I like the Xterra could use an update VDI is a little more jumpy then I would like.
You're becoming very handy with that probe. Almost looks faster than digging for you. Personally, I would never go down to eight on my detector in the tot lot simply because you're going to miss some small gold there at that sensitivity level, and as you know those diamond stud earrings are hard to find even at full sensitivity. Just a thought.
Yes, I do actually like using it. I never thought I would and was reluctant at first. I will take your advice and crank up the sensitivity.... thanks for the info

It’s good a lots of things to find old and new, the parks are very old for silver coins and chances to find a gold coins in some places
8 parks in 4 hours!!! Dedication level 100. Nice finds, bling coins and cars.
I need to slow down a bit... especially in the heat... was a work out for sure

Great hunt in the tot lots...we dont have that many lots in nc where i live.

They are more plentiful around here... we have a rather large Chinese population.
Your first coin spill totaled 57 cents in coinage which is exactly my July hourly finds per hour of metal detecting 😅

Great idea... I am not sure if the heat has increased the intensity of the gnats but wow they are persistent
You really should wear gloves when detecting in the playgrounds, I've gotten splinters in that type of ground cover.

We use the Garrett Pro Pinpointer AT. Tried many and it has been our best

So true... the beaches cost more than we usually find...lol. Yes, there are a lot of parrots in the area... there is a story behind them but they are very loud.
