One of CP's older videos talked about Amla thickening the hair and closing the parts in the hair that become wide from hair loss. I 've tried Amla from Amazon but when I used CP's , I immediately saw my hair thickening in weeks of using Amla. My hair had thinned and fell due to illness, but it has completely filled back in.. Hair is thick, & growing back. I decided to try one or two herbs at a time so I can see which ones work the best for my hair... Amla and fenugreek are my favorites...

@@loisevora2717 you can use straight amla and warm water as a mask. Just deep condition well afterwards. Or make a tea using Amla and fenugreek. U can use it any way actually. Add it to your shampoos and conditioners. Add it to your butters and oils. Just use it and be consistent. Along with using it as a mask I’ve also made oils using it and my hair is thriving and thick

We had a family event this week and I was able to evaluate all our genetic hair pool up close. We have female-pattern hair loss, thin and fragile hair strands in our family. I saw gray hair, exposed scalps, hair weave, long and short hair. My brother told me that in the light my hair was glistening with red strands of hair throughout my long black head of hair. I explained to him that this is henna. I realized at that point that I didn't have any gray hair like my cousins, but I had red hair because of henna. The red hair was actually more of a deep rich undertone to the black hair then the grey hairs that my cousins were sporting. I love henna and realized it gave my hair a more youthful appearance without the effort of using a conventional hair dye. I use henna for strength and not color but love this side effect. My hair was long, shiny, and rich in color at this event and I am thankful for finding this natural hair community.

Note: I a leaving this comment under my husband's profile: I embraced my natural curls in 2012 after having a relaxer in my hair for 20 years. I did the big chop to get the chemicals out and have healthy hair. Length wasn't important. At the time, my husband noticed the damage so I was desperate to do something. I followed the rules from the natural hair community: use a sulfate-free shampoo, detangle my curls in the shower while wet and then style. I needed to take my regimen to another level; my hair was growing but slowly. Three months ago, I found a woman who embraced her curls through historical (Victorian) hair care. Then, I tried her hair growth oil which she tweaked from you. Still, I was desperate for more so, I recently found your YT channel and began learning about ayurvedic herbs for my hair. I'm new to ayurveda hair care so I went to your website and read all the testimonials. That encouraged me to set up an account, with m first purchase of the Amla & Bhringraj Hair Masque, then the Fenugreek Hair Elixir. I did a strand test and was blown away; so much so that I bought the entire collection bundle this month (May 2023). I love all the products and what they have done for my 3A-3C curls and NO MORE ITCHY SCALP! Farida, thank you so much for sharing this gift of ayuvedic herbs and the results they give. You have managed to turn the traditional curly hair community upside down. Over time, my curls will really be my crowning glory thanks to you. Hugs, may God richly bless you.

The henna side of your hair definitely looks longer both when wet and dry. I think I heard you say once about using both henna and Amla if you want the benefits of the henna but don’t want the elongation so that’s what I’ve been doing. Never actually done a full mask of one or the other but I just might do it with henna. Thanks for this video! 💕

Hello Farida, I for one appreciate you reiterating the fact that Henna does not damage your hair when used correctly. I hear so many times on U-Tube, and even from hair stylists how you should stay away from Henna or Henna will damage your hair, so NOT TRUE. I started with Henna years ago and it was because of you I felt confident in using. I watched your u-tube videos where you go into great length and explain not only how to use Henna, but also what Henna you should purchase, how to determine if it is Henna Body Art, how to mix, and even explaining that it is permanent. You, yourself have used Henna for years and I have not heard you come back on your channel saying "Henna damaged my hair." Thank you again for sharing your knowledge.

I have dark brown hair. Before I use henna. Can I stop it from turning my hair or grays red or orange? Thx. I do love your videos and your journey is inspirational. I'm relaxed. So I'm afraid to try to much of anything. If you stare at my hair it dries out. The amla did reduce the shedding quickly and added moisture. Peace and blessings to you! Thx in advance.

I find Henna very drying. For more than a year I have allowed my henna to sit for at least 3 hours with aloe vera gel etc. After three hours the lawson dye has fully exploded. At this point I add coconut oil and an essential oil mix the oil with my electric whisk. Voila. SMOKING😎

    • @arewahaircaretv8718

Coconut oil is also a protein treatment so combining them will definitely give you protein overload. Maybe try a moisturising oil like olive oil or avocado oil.

    • @holdenwitch

I mix amla with my henna but use henna to colour my hair, not as a treatment, the acid from the amla helps with dye release of the henna which is what I want to get a strong colour from the henna, I also let my henna sit over night for more dye release and mix with cold water. Adding the amla when mixing the henna will give more dye release so you may get some colour from the henna in your hair tho if you wash it out straight away you won't get much colour from the henna, the video doesn't say how long to leave it in for, I leave my henna in for 4 hours and only apply to my roots so I don't get build up and darkening of my hair from repeated full head applications. My advise would be do testing on hair from your hair brush, mix the henna and sit for 4 hours then mix in the amla and test but also have a henna amla mix that has sat for 4 hours and test on some hair at the same time to see if it makes any difference.

Years ago, when I was a amateur at using henna, I used lemon juice in my henna mix, and it completely dried my hair out. No matter what conditioner I used the moisture was completely gone. I had to shave off all of my hair. I do not recommend using lemon juice with henna.

Dryness can come from both. But when I use henna as a gloss, by adding a good deep conditioner to the mixture my hair feels really good.
I always do henna glosses. My hair seems to like it better that way.

Ey Faridah, thank you for the video. Can I mix Amla powder with flaxseed gel or oat milk? I don't have access to coconut milk at the moment. And can acv be used instead of aloe Vera Juice?
Also, I've used henna the whole of last year and yes my curls were much looser. And the tinge of gold highlights were amazing. I've only Amla as an infusion in my DIY hair butter and yes, it's made my hair more firmer and more thicker. I can actually see the difference you've pointed out😊
