Great work and progress
How do you like the front end? Do you think the holes Pat put in will be enough airflow for the radiator?
@@gasholesgarage5083 Front end look great. My comment last video was about air going out after passing thru the rad, being evacuated by the airflow and the fans when at low speed or stopped. Feels like that frunk, the space behind the rad will be a place for positive pressure, and cause stagnant flow, the holes on the wheel wells not looking like enough. Of course i'm no engineer.
Let’s see that Duster!!
It's coming soon to a farm near you lol.
Oh it’s coming!!!
*Phone. Auto correct hates me.
@@path3853 😂
@@RANCHIN21 I guess either way it kind of works. Lol
Looking good!
Do you think a Honda 1.6 or 2.0 would fit in the car if it was mounted transversely using the Honda transmission? I'm still just pondering a future build. I think the car might be too narrow though.
Actually I own a civic and the Porsche is wider! Your not interested in the k24?
@@gasholesgarage5083 Maybe. I was originally thinking I may use a K20 out of a Civic R but the K24 would be great too. I just got distracted by some of the low prices I have seen on the 1.6L out of the Civic SI. I think anywhere in the 200 - 300hp would still be pretty good in the car. I got thinking it might be an nice option to use the Honda transmission too if I need to cut into the trunk anyway. I think the combination would work pretty well and be more economical than going with the Boxster S transmission. I just wasn't sure if it would fit.
I'm currently restoring my stock 1974 1.8L. I have done all of the rust repair and I have the original 1.8L engine and transmission back in it. I went for the first test drives a couple weeks ago. Once I get it on the road, I'm going to start working on my '73 that I was originally using as a parts car. I am going to make it a little more custom so I got time to think about what I'm going to do before I actually buy the drivetrain for it. Of course there is the rust repair needed on it as well but it is pretty complete car.
One more question. If it could fit transversely do you think the Honda 6 speed is as good as the Boxster? I don't have much experience with either. I figure Honda aftermarket support is better.
The Honda 6spd is a great transmission and if I was to start over it is what I would use. I think I would be a lot farther along and the whole process a lot cheaper if I would of just went that route. The first 914 that I've seen with a k series was transverse with a Honda trans. So it definitely fits. If you google k24 914 now you get a lot of my car. But before I started doing this the images of the transverse car would come right up.
Alot of work to take a bug vw/porsche pan and make a k motor sit that way.
Where are you guys located?
Southern California, I'm in Murrieta to be exact and Pat is about 45min from me.
