- In this video, I will go through the demo of an existing Roman Tub Faucet and the installation of a new Waterfall Tub Faucet with Handheld Sprayer. The faucet came from the factory with the hoses reversed so I will break down where each hose goes so you will not make the same mistake(s) as others have reported.
Everything is included in the set. All you will need is a 3/8” supply line connector for both hot and cold!

I just got this faucet, and I'm going to remove the aerator. The little cone shape filter inside the faucet. I hope that will increase the flow.

Great job. I'm curious why you would install compression valves instead of quarter turn valves. The install looks great. A concern I have is due to the vertical and straight design of the hand wand, will water run down the side of the wand and into the hole, creating a puddle under the tub? I like the swivel of the waterfall outlet but is the swivel restricted so it can't turn far enough to flow on to the top of the tub? And finally, I don't think I could live with less than half of the flow rate. I suspect that is due to the way they used the flex lines to supply everything. More like a kitchen sink design, not a tub design. I would be concerned with leaks or a line break in a few years, just like kitchen sinks.
I used compression valves because, IMHO, it was the easiest. They are 1/4 turn valves…Check at the 6:10 mark.
The handheld does not leak or has not leaked. There’s no water coming out of it while it’s parked. However, yeah, I was concerned about that as well but so far so good. I do have a leak detector in that space just in case. It’s connected to my SmartThings Hub.
The spout does not turn enough for it to go onto the top of the tub.
The flow did increase after a couple of uses but no, a tub faucet should not be restricted.
The connections seemed to be of good quality. Never had an issue with these types of hose connectors.

@@rontalley Sounds great Ron! I use similar leak detectors as well. In that area under the faucet assembly, you might consider putting a large flat pan to catch the leak and give you a time buffer between the leak detector alert and your ability to look at the problem and stop the leak or turn off the water. Glad it's all working well and to your satisfaction.

Does anyone know how to install a new faucet like this (where the old faucet is identical to what he had) when there is no access to the under plumbing? Our shower walls butt up directly to the tub faucet and we'd have to cut into the acrylic

Still working the same as it did on day 1. Actually better now. Seems like the water fills up quicker. Might just be that we are use to it by now.

Ron, for the handheld, when you pull it out to use...if water gets down in where the line is, is that supposed to cause a leak or should it be drained out?
If water ever does go back down the tube, yes, it will hit the space under the tub which could be a potential leak problem. Haven’t experienced any issues yet but there’s always that chance…

@@YGelfman I didn’t and really don’t have a problem with water dripping. The hose doesn’t leak. Hmmm….I might have to leak under there.

All depends on your supply line but these go from the faucet to 3/8” supply lines.

Thumbs down because you did not show how you install the valve to the copper line that you previously cut. I wanted to see your process, why did you skip that ? Most people here can tighten and fit, but it's the technical like sweating , welding, using shark bites etc that I wanted to see
