      I'm so thankful my parents were really strict with my brother and I because after moving from the street we lived on I hear about a lot of sex abuse of kids when I was little. And I used to hate that they were so strict and wished I had other kids parents.

    The worse part is their loved ones don't have closure. It's hard to go through the grieving process when there's no physical evidence to help overcome denial, and finally (eventually), acceptance. Terrible. Imagine how many families have been tormented with this crap over the thousands and thousands of years of human existence.

      Anyone seen all these missing children cases in the states...currently? Not in the mainstream media so much. 70 in Kansas (in foster care) last month, then throughout last year..in Virginia, in Jan, 1 in Feb..then the numbers go up and up monthly, in Oct 40 and Nov over 70. One theory is it is tied to the 'elite' - and most likely sex trafficking. One comment I read even went so far as to mention the 2.3(?) trillion (was it?) that Rumsfeld said was unaccounted for after 9/11. (The only records showing where these trillions were spent were in the Pentagon..the specific place the, erm 'plane' went in, you know, the recently re-enforced part of the Pentagon!) Worth looking into, there's a lot of oddities, but the more you look at, the more things add up. Of course it's all theory, interesting all the same. (Except 9/11 being a False Flag...apologies to the believers in the official story we were fed, but I wouldn't consider 9/11' conspiracy theory' any more...that one is pretty cut and dry, particularly when you follow the money. And it's usually about money, sadly.

      @IETCHX69 Not true that the Canadian government is doing nothing. These kind of crimes are often very hard to solve. Sometimes the perpetrator dies and is never identified. Sometimes there is more than one perp. But usually it is local law eonforcement that solves the case, and when it is solved, is because the perp just falls into their hands. The provincial government is working on it and so is the RCMP.

    • @anonymike8280

      @@Slurpified Maybe so, but the sources I rely on say the Canadian authorities are taking their investigation seriously These events cover a period of almost 50 years and certainly involve multiple perpetrators. The geograqphical area is vast. There are non-Native as well as Native women among the victim. Male persons found dead over this period of time are not included in the list of Highway of Tears victims but nevertheless could have been victims of the same perpetrators.
      It is not even slightly easy to investigate these kind of events. A better approach might be to encourage people who know something or suspect someone to come forward. I am sure that has been done too.
      Apparently, there have been arrests and convictions in some of tjhe cases, and at least one instance of a suspect committing suicide.
      Understand the difficulties. They are extreme.

    Those caver kids are probably still in that cave somewhere. They were kids. Part of why people get stuck and die in caves is they get stuck because of their size. Not a single youtube video covers her story. And with a platform as large as this, it's a shame.

      Human trafficking is not as common as the media would have you believe. Proof? You only hear about it on slow news days. Besides, with all due respect to the family who disappeared, not one of them would be attractive enough to be trafficked. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist, but human trafficking is just law enforcement’s way of demonizing prostitution which shouldn’t be illegal when done between 2 consenting adults

    People don't 'vanish into thin air' - they die, either accidentally or at the hand of another human being, and the latter is the most likely. What we do know for certain, is all these missing people are dead. Very sad.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 5 років тому +7

      @Zsuzsanna Varga True - we don't know what happened to these people. But something sure did - they did not get transported to another dimension, like a science fiction movie!
      I don't like the concept of people 'vanishing', it suggests something supernatural which in my view is nonsense. It should be phrased in a more no nonsense factual way, upping the woo-factor is cheap.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 5 років тому +2

      @Zsuzsanna Varga Hmmm... not sure why you found my posts so controversial/objectionable/surprising, or interpreted them so literally. It was merely an observation on the style of these kinds of videos.
      Life really is too short to look for conflict, as this video sadly illustrates! Maybe think about that. I wish you well.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 5 років тому +2

      @Zsuzsanna Varga I'm sure you're right. Language is a complex thing, and the written word is easily misinterpreted. I'm happy to embark on discourse here on any subject, with decent, respectful people. You've shown me a new perspective today, I had no idea my remarks could be seen that way.
      And the phrase: 'vanishing like a grey donkey in the fog', is a new one on me!
      As a true crime addict, I've become cynical about murder. It is far too prevalent and to many people, human life is cheap.
      That's why sadly, I see these cases as obvious homicides. Though nothing would please me more than to be proved wrong, and for these people to reappear as suddenly and as mysteriously as they 'vanished'. Time will tell!

      However, I will agree with you on the first couple points. Our tar sands is just a shit show. So is our lumber industry. Hell, our entire raw materials industry in general. We sell all this shit far below what its worth at huge environmental costs to us that will definitely bite us in the next several decades.

    This video hits home for me in a couple of ways: I remember when those three boys in Hannibal, Mo disappeared. I was approximately their age at the time and the whole thing haunted me for the days it was being reported in the media. I had totally forgotten about the matter until I saw this video. Regarding the disappearance of the three girls, one of them, Patricia, was my cousins girlfriend at the time. They knew each other from high school. Knowing that my family had a connection to one of the girls has haunted me for years. Recently, I had dinner with that cousin and her husband. Afterwards she had bought a bag of Brach's candy as a gift for friends they were going to visit after me. When I saw the bag I mentioned to her "ya know, they never did find Helen Brach!" I then proceeded to tell them about her disappearance back in the 70's. When my cousin and her husband visited those friends of theirs they mentioned to them what I had said. One of them happen to know more about the story and mentioned that there might also be a connection to the disappearance of the three Indiana Dunes women. Until then I had no idea their stories were so intertwined. I also didn't know about the murder of the three boys and their connection to Silas Jayne. Everything you reported was accurate.

    I love that you brought the Dhalsjö case up. It's actually the only mass missing case that hasn't been solved in Sweden.
    But to clarify why some believe the three young men where in this bank robbery is probably because they too had trouble with the law. Jan owned the car (because the law back then said it was okay to own a vehicle even if you didn't have a driver's license) which nobody of them had! And at least one of them have been convicted of this and other stuff. One of them was waiting to get his conviction but never got it since they disappeared.
    They had told friends and family that they where going away on vacation this day to a place called Åsa about 40 min away south of Gothenburg. Maybe they didn't go and was a part of the bank robbery instead and told people that they where going to Åsa just to cover their tracks because they where planing on going north.
    But did they still take the car up towards north?
    Because in that case maybe the last man hiched hiked with them since Lysekil is about 1,5 h north of Gothenburg. But nobody knows.
    The most famous criminologist in Sweden Leif G.W. Persson.
    Have said that he doesn't believe that these cases are connected. He thinks that the car with the men inside have had an accident and are probably in the ocean.

    I'm from British Columbia and have always been so mad that the government and police refuse to investigate the highway of tears cases! Steven Harper was a sh*t. Thank you so much for including that info in your video

    Thank you for these stories. I shall continue to be paranoid & untrusting of strangers.

    So with the Jack family... it kind of sounds similar to an experience my uncle went through in the 80s. He was picked up for a logging gig at 17 on some remote island around BC. They packed up the lumber and they abandoned most of the men on the island to die. Presumably to avoid paying them, they were lucky to have been rescued but it was not uncommon thing to happen. They'd take the impoverished and young men looking for work and a good number of them never returned with the excuse that they had died in an accident.
