Only crazy people like us can watch and understand a 1 hour video about color swatching 🙃
haha, thanks!
I can't wait to watch this video! I always love the colours you choose. :)
Thank you so much :)
It is so meditative to see you swatching all the colors. Love your selection, they are gorgeous!
Thanks so much Kriksis for this super inspiring swatching! Love seeing the different types of materials sorted by colour & I'd love some colour palette videos like you mentioned ❤
You are so welcome!
I loved watching this it’s better than my favourite movie, you get inspired and learn at the same time. I was a little teary though when I saw the frayed state of your acrylic marker tips.
I love your sense of humor! You had me giggling throughout the video
Your comment “keep on swatching” made me think that would be a cute t-shirt!
Oh thank you! Haha maybe it would! ❤
The cool earthy greens and the light blues and grayish blues are my two favorite "color collections." I notice you have no purples or lavenders. They are my favorites. It's surprising how many of them I see in landscapes. I love your subtle, natural colors. Natasha Newton is, as you know, another artist who prefers these. I could watch you swatch colors while you say "tone" and "gives me joy" all day...
On refilling the Posca pen - If you are able to pop it open to refill, you can mix a color yourself or you can grab Golden's High Flow paints - which are good to go into acrylic markers straight out of the bottle. You might like the Titan Buff color (:
Thank you for the suggestion! I might have a look into this 🌟
Pale muted greens, cool earthy muted greens, and rusts 💚. beautiful colors, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it Stephanie! :)
Love love love this video! Thank you so much! As someone who can't find great art supplies in the country I'm in, this is so useful for when I order colours internationally online. Have a lovely weekend :)
I love light yellow, beige sand, and light green. I think I’m really loving those colors right now because it’s almost spring where I live. But I like you love all of these colors! 💖
thank you!
Ahh I love it! These rusty earth tones are deliciousss **ahem, don't eat the paint** 🤣🤣
All of the color groupings are lovely! You can tell these supplies are well-loved. I really enjoy the Molotow markers too - the nibs generally are double-ended so if you destroy the nib you should be able to just flip it around and have a fresh start! They do sell replacement nibs too which is excellent for refilling/reusing them
Thank you! :) yes I love that Molotow marker nibs are reversible and easy to refill. :)
Loved watching you do this while I worked on my own swatching.
thank you! happy this video kept you company :)
I cannot even pick a favorite grouping as they are all so beautiful! Lately I have been into the quinacridone colors and the perylene colors, but I cannot say no to an earthy purple or a midnight blue of any kind. And greens. Spring is my favorite season for collecting greens from muted to audacious.
Thank you Terri! Really interesting to hear your favourites!
Loved this, Kriksis! I was giggling througout because I feel the same way about my favourite colours! Definitely going to add a few things to my basket!
Yay! Thank you! Yes its hard to hide excitement :)
If you haven't, please try Prismacolor Premier's Celadon Green (PC1020)! I think you'd love it. (edit - I see you had it later in the video!)
This video came to me when I was having a lot of anxiety and taking some deep, long breaths. I was so happy to have an entire hour of swatching and warmth, particularly as a fellow "green lover"!
I’m so happy that this video helped with your anxiety! I hope to bring calmness and inspiration with my videos. ❤
That Celadon green is gorgeous colour! So glad I got it! :))
Loved this video, I would really be interested in your video idea of how to make a long-term colour palette. I'm a blues and turquoise girl so my faves are Prussian blues, blue greys and earthy muted greens xx
Noted! Thank you!
I love muted, vintage colours. This is my favourite kind of swatching. Mixed media and tones. Thank you Kriskis. Your channel is interesting and you are so genuine. I enjoy your content very much.
Thank you so much!
Omg I just discovered your channel I love the way you talk softly and your aesthetics❤🥲✨
aww thank you so much! Welcome here!
This was so delightful! I love these colors as well, and I don’t think I can pick favorite groupings. They’re all so beautiful and look marvelous in their overarching color palettes. Thank you for making this video!
Yay, thank you!
My favorites were blue grey, middle green and prussian blue. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Stacy!
Thank you for this vlog!😍🥰
RINI from the Netherlands.
Love these videos! I remember the last one you did as well, so many lovely color groupings! This time my top 3 would be the light greens {prismacolor grey green light gray! Always a fav!} the beige ones & it would have to be a tie for the bronze and the silver blue, love! Thankyou for Sharing such a well organized and lengthy offering! 🤗✨✨✨
Good choice of favourite colours! Thank you ❤
Yay... can't wait to watch.. but first.. getting the coffee going.. !!
Yaay, thank you Marie! Hope you enjoy!
Love the verdigris and the pale blues paired with rusty colours x 🦊
mm such a beautiful colour combo!
Curious about the molotow markers and how that works. I admire that you have identified an unsustainable media and are actively working towards eliminating it. Would love to see these fave colours in an illustration/mixed media piece. Great video Kristina, lovely to slow down and appreciate the differences of tone and colour.
Thank you! I plan to chat more about Molotow and other acrylic markers in future videos! Currently I am using them when I do observation drawings or mapcrunching from google views, I like how quick this medium is. :)
I have a new favorite color! Pale muted green 😊
Good choice! :)
I am loving soft greens lately too! Like sea glass or cosy sage plants. It first showed up in my clothing choices and then spilled into my art colours.
Thanks Kriksis, i enjoy your colour videos! To me, it's nice how you are casual and have a laugh and don't take things too seriously. ✍️
That Neocolor "beige" was more like a taupe I thought.
Thanks for sharing!! Happy you enjoyed this video! :)
Sea glass! That would be a beautiful color and cool color name.
Thank you for some great reference material.😊 I have a few color families that I'm crazy about too. I'm looking for that perfect chartreuse and colors close to it. Your prismacolor lime peel looks perfect to me, but I work mostly with watercolors. I always look for muted light, med, and dark olive greens. I'm thinking you may really enjoy W&S Buckthorn green hue. I have their honister green slate also. I'm crazy about gold to rust colors also. Thanks again. I really enjoyed your groupings and enthusiasm for color. 😊
It’s a little hard to be sure with the lighting, but I think the unnamed pencil colour is Brown Ochre or Brown Ochre 50% by Caran d’Ache Luminance.
Also, pale muted greens, cool muted earthy greens, and blue-greys are my favourites. I have a lot of similar colours/supplies to you in those shades!
Thank you Delfica for helping to solve the mystery! I now remember that it had 50% on it so it must have been brown ochre 50%. :)
Your color-palette is fabulous! I love it!
Thank you Nicole! Cheers!
Love the long swatching session and the format! I might try this myself actually, it’s very inspiring. On the other hand, after watching your video my shopping cart filled pretty quickly 😅 Love the pale colours, cannot wait to get my hands on that green grey
Thank you! Go for it if you want to film something similar. :) It’s exciting to swatch favourite colours from different mediums. :)
We share a lot of the same favorite colors. Since I got a lot of good recommendations from you, I thought I’d return the favor and share some colors I think you’d like.
Holbein’s Davy’s Grey watercolor (It’s very close to Luminance’s verdigris and prismacolor’s celadon green.)
Winsor Newton terre verte yellow shade (It’s close to Holbein’s willow pencil. Just be aware it is a very light and transparent color.)
American Journey’s Coastal Blue (I think it’s a pale green rather than a blue.)
American Journey’s Chromium Oxide Green (It’s a color in between Prismacolor sap green light and Faber Castel’s earth green.)
American Journey’s olive green (It’s like Derwent’s LF foliage.)
David Smith’s Rich Green gold (It’s a pale olive color.)
American Journey bluestone (It’s similar to Derwent Coloursoft’s gray green.)
Schmeinke Rutile Yellow watercolor (It reminds me of the Neocolor’s Sahara Yellow. It’s a beautiful and it has better tinting stenght than most light yellows.)
Holbein leaf green pencil (It’s slightly lighter than Derwent’s LF foliage.)
Orange rusts and sienna's.. but I also like pale greens.. great video!😉
Thanks! 😊
Thank you for this wonderful video! Love your color choices 🙏🏻☺️❤️
Thank you Vivianna! You are so welcome!
Love the video, a good beige: Caran D’ache Olive Brown 10%
Thank you Hilda! That colour is lovely indeed. :)
I haven't finished watching yet, but I'm also really into greens and grayish greens, I'm so excited about this video, now I'll continue watching hahaha 😅
And also love the greens you mention from derwent the colors are so beautiful and they are so soft and creamy 💚
thank you Cote! :)
You should try le franc Flashe colours they work just like acryla gouache but pencils lay on top so much nicer
Thanks for the tip! Never tried them!
I love your colour palette!!!!
thank you! :)
Wonderful vlog!!! Great color range choices
Thanks so much dear!
thank you! loved this :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely colors🥰 For the pale yellows you might enjoy Schmicke’s Turner yellow & Rutile yellow.
thank you for sharing!
Pale Muted Green, Blue Greys, Prussian Blue :)
Hi Kriksis! I'm still watching your video but I'm loving it so far.
I sent you some photos on instagram to show you how to open the posca markers. It doesn't seem to work as well with the molotow ink but it's nice to be able to reuse them. I'm sure you will find a way to make it work :)
Hello dear! I just saw your message on instagram and thank you so much for the useful information! I will try to follow instruction. :)) All the best to you!
By the way: The idea of an "eternal color palette" is great. Perhaps we can develop one out of the primary colors. It's so useful to learn, how to mix your favorite colors. And my favorites are the blue/greys, the beiges and the rusty oranges.
That's a great idea Nicole, I actually might write this down and film video where I mix similar favourite colours made from primaries mixes ! :)
Hi! Sorry for the late comment, but i wanted to let you know that you can refill poscas and you can even get the nibs too! I finally bought mine after finding that out😊
Thanks for the tip!
This was so helpful! Have you tried Derwent Lightfast Dark Honey? It’s a bit of a russety ochre-y blend.
Thank you so much! It is actually on my wish list, would love to get it at some point! :)
Did you know the faber castell albrecht durer art watercolour pencils
where do you buy wallace seymour watercolor?
