    I saw this bike at a Texas Dealership. The next day (2/9/24) I bought the GT version. I rode it 60 miles on open highway to my house. What a beast. The torque is off-the-scale. They say 221 n/m of torque at 4000rpm. Horses comes in at 165. I'm 67 and alone after the loss of my wife. I owed many bikes since 1970. This machine pulled me away from purchasing the Goldwing because I love the retro look of it. It's name lives up to the performance. It is a Rocket.

    I just bought a red rocket 3r I'm in Michigan cold weather hasn't stopped yet. It's sitting in my treehouse just waiting to be ridden. I'm almost 70 years old I needed a bike to help me stay young. And this is the bike. I can't wait to ride it. I hope the wind will be ok. I had a triumph tiger I was amazed on how the wind was on that. Perfect. Now there was a nice bike.

    I have the GT version and i just love it you have to ride this bike to feel the raw power and torque you get with this beast and i upgrade it with a quickshifter and the acceleration is out of this world the only thing negative for me is that all the other bike i tested now are just plain dull,and i have 40 years experience testing all sort of bike.Ride safe man

    Now that's a bike, Simon.
    Good to see something else on your channel lol. And I guess the question is, would you have one in your collection one day among your Ducatis'?
    Back pegs looked really good tbh. Not so good for your Mrs though with that tiny seat & no back rest. Would be better for a pillion if it did have a back rest & it wouldn't look out of place either considering the type of bike it is.
    What a beast.

      It’s was nice to ride something different I’m going to bring a few other bike/reviews to the Chanel jusy to break it up a bit. I really did enjoy the rocket 3 and I guess if I had unlimited money and space I would have one,but I feel it’s a bike for when I’m 10 years older and want a easier ride.

      @@thatbikersimon I'm still saving for a Honda ADV 400. Well, it's a 350 but rides more like a 4 - 500cc because of its new added power band. It has a lot more power than others in its class. Holds power up to 85/90mph even with a pillion on the back. Tops out at nearly 110mph & is apparently just a brilliant little cruiser for a mid range bike. Also great on fuel economy & so smooth to ride for touring around. It was Honda's best selling bike last year & sold 45,000 across Europe. Really good little bike. Should have one in a year, roughly. Or if the 2023 version is out by then which I'm assuming there will be considering it sold so well over this last year, I'll have a butchers at the new version.
      It's not a beast or really fast bike but it's certainly different & it's getting a 10/10 review from everybody who reviews it. Even geared riders. But yes definitely review different bikes. Good for fan base. Pixel out your Speedo on your reviews though mate. If you get seen/caught on here doing them speeds on country roads like on this bike for example, you could end up with points on your license. Which you obviously don't want. I've watched many reviews of bikes & usually when they're going a little over speed limit they'll pixel/blur out their Speedo to cover theirselves.
      Good review though. 🤝🏾

    They named the Rocket III after a much older bike, the Triumph Trident / BSA Rocket 3 from the 1960s (or maybe kind of as an homage; that bike was arguably the first superbike, although the Honda 750 would come to outshine it), but these new ones are indeed rockets insofar as performance goes. The TTS supercharger setup for this bike is bonkers, as well, can take this already stupid fast bike to something else entirely with 340 horsepower. I would argue, though, that this new generation and the original Rocket 3 2300 cc from 2004 and on are sufficiently different to really be quite different bikes, and maybe even have different audiences, even.

    • @thatbikersimon
      @thatbikersimon  Рік тому

      Hi, I can’t honestly say that it was a issue, but I wasn’t pushing it as hard as I could. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to scrape them if I really wanted to, but I didn’t feel it caused me any problems on the day with the bike.

    • @markettradinggenius
      @markettradinggenius Рік тому +1

      Director, it's easy to solve the foot peg scraping issue and that is to bring it to a very good motorcycle mechanic and have him shave off half an inch on each peg. You'll still have sufficient room for placing your feet on the pegs for long distance as well as carving out mountains...or....the other option is to see if you have have the mid foot pegs at the highest level available....

      Yes, I mean a pot hole in a bend , I’ve found it keeps the bike on line. Don’t like it anywhere else though.

    641 pounds dry for a 2500 cc motorcycle is "coming in at the heavyweight"??? Sir, the weight of Yamaha's iconic VMAX is 600 pounds dry with HALF that displacement! This is a street muscle bike, not a GP-style bike like a CBR 1000RR or street "knife" cruiser like the Ducati Diavel (516 pounds wet). It's the same weight as the Harley FXDR but with a coffee can more of displacement, that would be its nearest true competitor.

    • @thatbikersimon
      @thatbikersimon  11 місяців тому

      You make a valid point about the weight comparison. The context of this bike's category and its competitors certainly adds more insight into its weight. Different motorcycles are designed for varying purposes and styles, which affects their weight distribution.

      @@thatbikersimon I raced a Kawasaki ZX-7 in Supersport class 20 yrs ago that was about this weight wet but this thing has the displacement of nearly TWO Honda Accords! They have to counterrotate everything in that engine they can to even make it rideable, also why it only goes a pathetic 145 mph, they don't dare take the redline past 7000 it would vibrate itself to pieces. Why I see no videos of people doing quarter-miles on this thing, it's a tortoise that's a rabbit for maybe 3 seconds.
      The reason we are seeing 3 cylinders in anything is because of EVs, they're an excellent ultra-cheap engine to act as nothing more than a generator for batteries in EVs, which are the only "electric" cars people trust because they want that gas engine in there to make sure they get to where they're going. Ergo, 3-cyl tech has done about all it can to stop the inherent vibration, but I think it's hit the wall.
