Glad you stripped the epoxy paint that was on the smc/300sx. Its notorious for flaking off, should never glass over it.

Make sure when u lay the matts on you completely cover that whole bottom of that ski and alll the sides, you will have alot of force smacking the bottom if it manages to flip and lands flat and if you dont cover the whole thing the bottom is gonna cave in on the cut marks

Hey man , I’m also a broke college kid looking to do the same build you’re doing on a 1500-2000 budget.I’m told the 701 makes more bottom end than the 760. But the 760 you have is using the 155 pump. Do you think a 701 with a 144 pump would do it? Trying to see what my options are for doner skis since the waveblasters aren’t typically cheap. Can’t put too much money into motor mods as well.

We’re in the same boat haha, I think a 701 with a 144 pump would flip but it would have to be off a wake for sure. This also depends on how much fiberglass work is done and how much the hull weighs. I really think my ski will weigh too much to flat water flip even with the 760 and 155mm pump. Sit down pump tunnels are really long and hard to transplant. A blaster 1 would work well I think. Feel free to ask anymore questions man!

Somebody at my work found this and showed me. I immediately recognized the name Nasty Moto. It's been years since I saw your channel last. Just watched the whole bob series. It's really turning out good! I really like that you weren't afraid to cut up a b2 blaster. That b2 bottom looks really good for doing what you did. I bet the ski will handle good. I think I've learned in the past few years that expensive stuff is bull crap. Your 760 with a stock 701 pipe and a good prop will rip probably 95% as hard as a krash kv997 and stay working 100000% longer. I loved how you cut the splines on your driveshaft. You got me a little bit amped up to go finish my bob build.

Looking good! I remember graphing a superjet tunnel in my fx1 so I could run a 144 pump instead of the 122. It was alot of work. I can't imagine what this is. I'd suggest wearing pants and long sleeve shirt when sanding that glass. You're going to be itchy if not lol
