Man I had a 650sx that was the same year and same level of patina that I got in pieces in a trade. I remember staying up till 1:00 to finish it but I did it in a day, rode it the next day and sold it a couple days later. These are the perfect skis to just not give a crap about. They really do handle like trash with a big dog engine.
Mainly due to my power to weight ratio. I’m afraid the fiberglass work will make the hull too heavy and my stock motor won’t be able to flip it. Well just have to see though
Looking good! 2 quick comments. 1) this may be an external fuel pump carb so not sure how you had your lines hooked up to try and run on its own. 2) did you silicone the pump in? Couldn’t tell from the video
Hey man so I just picked up 2 89 650s. They have been sitting for a loooooong time. Cranks good, shaft is free, good spark but the compression is super high and it’s shooting oil out of the cylinder heads. Any thoughts?
@@NastyMoto nope. Soooo we deleted the oil pump to switch to mix and one is doing great now. So we figured out it has such high compression because it’s full of oil… like fulllllll of oil. Now I’m trying to think of how I can get the oil out without hydro locking it or burning up the starter by cranking it all out. When I say full of oil I mean it gurgles when I stop cranking it haha
This is awesome. Hopefully we will see some mods on this thing:)
For sure man!

That’s cool man!
Seeing you build this 650 up makes me want to start my superchicken project right now. But it’s -5 out 😭. Hurry up spring
We can’t wait for warmer weather ether! I need it to do fiberglass haha
@@NastyMoto yeah my superchicken project is gonna be quite a handful once spring comes around. It’s basically a full restoration
Good project. Wondering in one of your videos you said probably wouldnt be able to flat water backflip on the BOB. Is there a reason why

You going to put any parts on this or keeping it stock?
Mostly stock till I know it won’t break in half haha

How did you redo the pole pad. What foam did you use?
I just took it off, the padding was far too gone
Hello do you know if that jet pump on the stand up happens to be the same as the 750 ss xi like the one you have as well?
I don’t know personally, I’ve heard they are slightly different but I don’t know what makes them different

Is the oil milky?
