Once you engineer to those G5 Dirty Drag Drives though, the manoeuvrability of both is multiplied, and the Krait comes out significantly ahead. The best part is that they share all the same internal sizes, so you can pull all of your engineered parts out of the Python and give the Krait a good go for very low cost. I'm enjoying the change, and the opportunity to have a fighter hangar inside a fighter. The cockpit hardpoint location on the Krait is also fantastic, I feel like it's lacking in lateral thrusters though.
Disclaimer: I have both ships but would never use a Python in combat. I am probably a little biased. I also fight only PvE. That said, here's why I prefer the Krait for combat: 1) The Krait has much better visibility. The cockpit is situated out in front of the ship in such a way that there's basically zero obstruction, and then on top of that there are little cut-outs in the dashboard that give you some visibility even for targets underneath you. When in res sites especially, this is very important. The Python, on the other hand has an offset cockpit and a large nose sticking out and blocking part of your view. This exacerbates the Python's slower pitch rate because you have to pitch both farther AND slower to keep targets in your sights. 2) Due to how shields work (they're based on hull mass, NOT total mass) the Krait gets full benefit from a 5C Bi-Weave, whereas the Python has to mount a Class 6 for optimum shielding. This means the Krait can save both power and weight to get full/optimal shields over the Python. This, in turn, lowers or alters the weapons and distributor you can use and still keep everything humming. 3) The SLF isn't just a damage boost, it's a survivability boost too. By forcing your opponent to split their fire, you effectively decrease the overall damage the Krait takes. That said, the Krait MkII does have one small disadvantage: the Class 3 hardpoints have a rather large deadzone below the ship. That is, if your target is more than about 10 degrees below center, the rear 2 weapons (when using gimballed guns) cannot fire on it. Personally, I solved this by running beam lasers in the front Class 3 slot and the Class 2 slots, then Seeker missiles in the two rear Class 3 slots. With Drag Munitions they are very good against smaller ships like Eagles and can give the Krait a great advantage, so I call this a very "minor" disadvantage but if you insist on using certain weapons in those rear slots, it could be a problem for you. EDIT: To be fair, the bottom Class 3 hardpoint on the Python has the same issue in reverse. Also a little tip: because the Krait only needs a Class 5 shield (again, it's HULL MASS so there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER to put a Class 6 shield on this thing!!!) you can easily mount a Class 6 fighter hangar. This makes the Krait the only medium ship where a Class 6 hangar is a viable option. The Alliance Crusader requires that you use its one and only Class 6 slot for your shield generator, and the Fed Gunship is only really viable as a hulltank. While you could put a Class 6 bay in a Gunship, you really need both of your Class 6 slots to be hull reinforcements to make it survivable. Now, why is this relevant? Because a Class 6 Fighter Hangar eliminates the rebuild time by allowing you to instantly launch a fighter from the second bay as soon as you lose one.
@@samw1501 This actually happens if you take too much damage and your fsd malfunctions. One time my fsd malfunctioned i had to punch it a few times for it to work.
I love the way you can see the weapons hanging on the sides of the cockpit in the Krait. It's also more agine and has the fighter bay, so I think it's better for combat. I have a couple of pythons - one kitted out for deep core mining, and the other into which I transfer the mined materials - that one is capable of defending itself on the way to sell the materials, and also good for a bit of bounty hunting on the way back!
Excellent video, love the side by side comparison. Sure beats the snot out of comparing numbers on Coriolis. The Krait looks like a very fun ship, but it's not as well rounded as the Python. No shocker there. Krait looks much more fun to fly though, so personal preference wins.
The crait is a blast to fly. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite combat ships. I thought I would miss the extra 6 optional and hitpoints, but I dont.

I would agree, the Python has better at taking a hit, and you can make a very nice tank build with it. But after flying round with the Krait for a good few hours I would have to say its a dam fine ship. I've started to play with the engineers and modding it, it really shines. And it sounds brilliant with a much better cockpit view. It also turns on a dime especially with flight assist off, I was out manoeuvring Vultures, and big ships were really easy to get behind and stay there. So it sort of negates the lower hit points. If you have the credits get it, you'll love it. Now to earn more credits so I can get the Challenger, If anyone bought that I'd appreciate your input.
Cheeky J challenger flies and feels identical to chieftain , only difference I felt or seen was the top end boost. I got it with fully equipped and threw engineered mods in it up to 500-510 ish kinda. Does exceptionally well with FA off, much more stable than the smaller one. I figure hull wise it can do over 4k easy and in my opinion it operates better for a bi weave and hull tank setup than the krait. Krait was more fun to fly, I ended up giving back both because due to the krait hitbox size and the challengers speed, they arent what im looking for.
Challenger is identical to the Chieftain, save for hard points and hull armor. Wasn't a fan of the Chieftain, not a fan of the Challenger. Definitely go with the Krait
I bought the Krait as a dedicated mining ship, but was reminded around a day later that the python has a better cargo hold. Krait is now collecting dust in a hangar, and the Krait phantom’s sole purpose in life is as a planetary explorer :l python is life
I have a Krait Mk II, and I can outfit it for anything. I love that about it. Wanna run freight for a bit? Sure you can, with about 200 tons of cargo if you're willing to run no fighter and a smaller shield. Bounty hunting? It's a competent bounty hunter, especially with a fighter bay. Exploring? There's plenty of fuel, the view is fantastic, and those who are willing to optimize its jump range could get a lot out of it. Mining? It's tight for both ships because of the number of internals they have, but it's doable. Bringing friends? You can have a gunner if you somehow like turrets, but you could also fit a size 6 Fighter Bay and let your friends fly a fighter with your NPC crewmate and take them out bounty hunting with you. As far as smuggling, salvage, piracy, and passenger transport go, I haven't tried yet, but the Krait would definitely be ready to do those well too. To me, people with friends to play with should get a Krait, and those without should get a Python.
@@russellfautheree4650 krait is lighter and better for speed, jump range, and mobility. But the python’s extra class6 internal means 64 extra space or a am extra 6A SCB. I still recommend the Krait to new players instead though
That's my exact setup. Core-mining Python and a fighter bay and shield cell Krait. I also have a second Python setup for moving bulk passengers, using that to run refugees out of Goddard Hub for Federation xp.
@@Ortorin I use Krait Phantom for core mining. It's not perfect and could have better optional slots, but spotting cores is much easier than in a Python, especially in VR.
I put all my modded modules from my Python into the Krait and your correct about the speed and jump range, the Krait gains an advantage. But once you use mods you can really see the difference in defence and my Python had 200+ more sheilds and a lot more in armor. For some reason I felt the Krait had a better roll and the Python pitched better which for me was a bit better for combat. Due to the Python having the worse pitch for its size and class I normally turret the class 2 weapons to maintain DPS and keep the class 3 or large for line of sight. As the Krait has the three large mounts at the top I dont feel it was worth turreting them and more nimble ships might be able to avoid shots while pitching. Switching between flight assist on console is a nightmare and you'll only see that problem there. Overall I still favour the Python but the Krait is a welcomed addition for us 😊
I agree with you. As someone who has both, the krait is a near meta/meta combat ship. However I would get the python over the krait because with the pythons extra class 6 slot you can carry so much more cargo that within 2 hours of owning the python, you will make enough money from trading or mining or questing and it’s insane.
Solid video there. It's turned out to be a considerably better ship than the python, and this from a guy who bought the chrome paint job for the python and used the ship quite often. Krait runs much cooler (python had the same modules and would frequently over heat in combat, krait rarely if ever overheats), turns better, has a fighter bay, apparently gets scanned less often, and flies much faster while packing the same punch. I can't think of a single reason to buy a python now unless FDev buffs the python to finally use a fighter bay as well.
Very useful as always. Currently upgrading Krait to Phantom for the extra 6 slot, more shield, more bins, docking computer when heavy cargo or supercruise to avoid star collision when afk.
Python turns better than Krait, at least when both are equally engineered. Plus the Python can stock up on SCBs, which works well with thermal vent efficient beam lasers 🙂
I have a Python and I am very happy with it. It is a nimble ship and is able to multi-purpose with ease. Except exploration, I still use like everyone else the Asp. The only thing bad about the Python for a ship of that size is the lack of installing a fighter bay. But then again, if you engineer the f*** out it, it is a great ship.
At 29 seconds in, I can already tell you. If you want an armed, fairly agile freighter, then the Python is the best choice. If you want ship that can engage in heavy duty combat, then the Krait MkII is the best choice. It's all about the role you expect it to fulfill. For bounty hunting or other combat work, a Python when the Krait is available is using a saw as a pry bar. It will probably do the job for a bit but you're likely to break it. Same with trading. Using the Krait when the Python is available is using a pair of channel locks as a hammer. It will do the job, but not nearly as efficiently as the Python.
Also if you prize toughness over maneuverability get the Python. It's almost as fast and maneuverable. It has and extra class 6 slot and it can't carry a fighter so that is an additional class 5 or 6 slot freed up for defense. The Python is an excellent combat ship. The Python does everything well. Get the Krait if you are bored and need a change.
It's not a "slight difference" in defense. When the Krait's has a C6 SLF bay, the Python will have the option of 2x 6A SCBs which is about 4k MJ extra Shields. That's a HUGE difference in defensive capacity compared to the very small increase in DPS and agility for the Krait. In a straight up PVP fight, the Krait would run or die.
metaVendetta It depends on the Pilot, in the hands of a really good Pilot, the extra agility of the Krait makes more difference than the durability of the Python.
Python is much slower and less agile. It can take more hits, which it will, and often. The Krait makes up for this with more speed and maneuverability. You forget the SLF can also take a lot of aggro from the Krait in PVE combat.
If you are restricted take the Python every time. You can arm it pretty well, especially with engineering. It is the largest ship that you can land at every dock and at the same time can carry over 200 tons of trade. I sold my first one in the race for a mega ship. As soon as I could I bought one back and will never sell it again. I have a Krait kitted out for Thargoids.
I initially bought a FDL but when I realized I couldn't afford the gimballed huge hardpoint I switched to a Krait and so far within the week of having it doing almost purely combat missions this ship has earned enough money to pretty decently deck it out and still have enough for a Anaconda. Grown rather fond of it and like my Imperial Eagle and Vulture, I'm not likely going to sell it even after I move on to the Conda and eventually the main goal, the Corvette.
I really liked this ship comparison video. Thanks for doing this. Would love to see more comparisons of other ships that are seemingly similar. o7 CMDR.
I absolutely hate and loathe yamik's flavor of humour and the tone of his voice. I also dislike YankeeMarshal and Nutnfancy even tho they are immensely popular.
I know what you mean. I think it's despicable how Yamiks can get away with being an asshole to the game and it shows how juvenile the yt ED audience is. I think OAnt has turned to the dark side too with salt and dev bashing in his videos like the others. He doesn't even warn with spoilers anymore or give enough credit to new discoveries by others like he used to. Now I prefer Atronomy's videos which have stayed professional and factual to the point, even if they're aren't instantly timely.
Great comparison vid Astro: i suspect that many will now ditch their aspx in favour of this credits permitting (me included probably). I haven’t tried it out yet but the canopy looks the business for exploring but also searching planets.
I did salvage missions, I always got ambushed by FDL with three wingmen. My Python struggled to escape and couldn’t stand its ground in those fights even with A rated modules. When I got the Krait MK II, things turned around like a happy day at a delicious food festival where everything is a dollar or less. I let loose my fighter crewman onto the FDL distracting it while I unloaded the full might of my arsenals on the struggling pirate. The rest of his wingmen were easy pickin especially when System authorities Arrived and finished the job for me. Safe to say, I don’t miss the Python at all.
I bought the Krait because of budget . Kept it , and held out for a full on freighter rather than get a python for the extra cargo. I went for a type 9 at first but actually Ive swapped it for a type 10 . Because I miss the extra defense capability ( yeah , I know ) But It still has good cargo load out and will withstand attacks . I can fit it out with guns , good shields and hull and even a fighter and still have 350 T cargo
Honestly they're both about as good as each other. I prefer the krait, as it's a great multipurpose ship that's fun to fly. The python is much better for mining though, but not as good for exploration or combat. Still both are tied for best ship in the game in my opinion.
I like both ships. I use the Python for cargo running, and I just bought a Krait yesterday that I'm outfitting for exploration in preparation for the update.
without watching the video: if you're bored with the python, get the Krait. I like the Krait. I also like the Python. Krait seems to have better fuel economy and be more manoeuvrable. Python has more cargo capability.
I bought myself a krait, and while I love her, the python is a rather worthy foe. I can take down NPC pythons regularly, but those fights were not exactly clean sweeps. Usually i got out of there with the Krait missing 20-30% of the hull (if they had backup, even more), a busted up fighter and a feeling that if I didn't stop turning during the entire fight, things could have been much worse (4.5 million rebuy worse)
Personally I'm more of a krait pilot because I just absolutelt love the detail of the ship and no matter what you say you have to admit that looks can factor into the decision making process. Secondly, the krait, to me, _feels_ like a medium sized multi-purpose ship. While the Python feels like it should be a large ship but got shrunk down to a medium sized pad. So from my *_personal_* point of view I'd say Krait > Python. However if you're looking for the most utilitarian multipurpose medium ship in the game, the Python is there for you every time. Its just the more logical choice. That being said I refuse to fly one because...well, I like the looks and feel of the Krait more. *TL;DR:* Choose the ship you _enjoy_ the most, not the one that fits the current meta. With engineering you can make any ship do anything if you're willing to just show it a little bit of love. So go get in that Orca and kill some Thargoids, or take that Fed Corvette and go exploring out in the unknown.
One thing missing here is your view, especially in VR - the Krait give a much larger view with the big open canopy... to me the view is a huge part of the decision, it's also a big reason why OA stuck wit the ASP so long and then went with the Krait.
i've done some engineering on the krait, and using class 4 power plant/distributor/thrusters i've managed to get it to over 40 light year jump range. looks like that can be pushed to almost 50ly with experimental upgrades.
I found the krait good for trading, i managed to get my rep up enough that even some 34-39 million missions showed up. With the Fighter Hanger replaced by Cargo Hold it can hold a little over 190 in its cargo bay enough to grab some find this commodity missions for 70-82 pieces of cargo. If you can imagine paying 2 million or so for the cargo then returning with it for say the 39 million payout. Also i found that when you get locked by a pirate you can escape interdiction fairly easily in the Krait.
I play in VR, so I prefer the Python for the view from the cockpit. The Krait has a pylon on either side that blocks a lot of peripheral vision. It is a shame though, that the Python doesn't have an SLF ability, since it's the biggest medium sized ship. I had originally bought the Python for mining, due to it's cargo capacity and the ability to carry some armaments with the mining gear, but it didn't take long for me to realize it's potential in other areas.
Someone mentioned the hitbox of the Krait, and that was my first thought looking at it - it's a big pancakey profile, where the Python is more compact. I worry that the Krait is easier to shoot. Anyone have experience for or against this?
I tweaked it so that it has just enough range to make the round trip to Sothis in two jumps, with a full fuel tank giving it just enough fuel to make it without needing to fuel scoop
Unless something has severely changed, the armour rating has nothing to do with the chance of module damage. It only serves to determine damage based on the ratio of armour rating and the armour piercing value of the weapon. (which has nothing to do with a weapons ability to pierce armour, advanced Frontier logic) The chance of breaking through the hull and cause module damage is determined by the min and max penetration chance that is weapon specific. Min chance applies when attacking a ship with 100% hull, max chance applies at 0% hull. In between it’s a linear function.
I have a Python for the heavy stuff like mining and combat/collecting and a Krait phantom for exploration. Mk II is only desirable for the fighter bay, which is pretty nice, but I don’t like sharing my spoils.
I absolutely love the chieftain. Underslung Hammer rail with shield cell braker (whatever) Effect, and 2 large rapid fire Multi cannons, and 3 overcharged enforcer cannons. All fixed. Its a blast to fly and to dakka everything out of the sky! Combined dps from the dakka dispensers is between 130-140. Well if you Hit, that is. 😂
Sounds fun Cmdr :) But like always these are matter of opinions. Theres is no absolute OP ship in this game if you know what you're doing. That's what is great in this game IMHO.
I have them both, haven't had much time with the Krait yet, but I am thinking I might end up selling the Python as the Krait does seem to generally be better for what I normally have used the Python for.
Krait 9/10 times. The only advantage Python has is tier 6 optional slot where Krait has 5. Krait looks cooler, handles better and OMG these 3 large hardpoints have such a great placement. The only case where Python would be superior is if you trading, transporting or playing space uber.
I would like to know your impressions on how quickly the 2 ships purge heat. It seems the krait is quite a bit faster in this. I took it through about 100 jumps today running mostly smuggling missions and was impressed with how quickly it can shed heat. Same in a hazrez. I also think FD is correct on how they built the krait to be less susceptible to being scanned as I was scan attempted only twice the entire day running illicit goods. Thanks for all your great info btw o/
The Python remains the best medium in the game for doing a little bit of everything. Best cargo, hardpoints, good speed, decent jump range, great miner. Personally, I find the rest of the ship lineup unable to match what the python can do in any capacity. It is the swiss army knife of Elite. It's the ship you need to get everything else. A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better then a master of one.
The Krait is a beauty. You're forgetting one important part. Class. The python is sleek, modern design. Like a new Lexus. But that kraft, that thing is ugly, it's got power, kinda boxy and shambles looking, it's an old rat rod of a space ship. And I love it for that reason alone. And the fact it sounds like a pod racer.
I think that's precisely WHY they haven't done it - it would make the Python TOO versatile. Frontier want players to have a reason to buy other ships. Apart from anything else, so they can sell you skins and shipkits…..
if i get pulled out by a python in my krait, its a deat python... period.. after testing alot of weapon loadouts i found that with 3 beam turrets on top, and whatever the fuck i decide to toss in the other slots, i can 1v1 deadly-elite corvetts and condas without them even taking a full ring of shields down, this is because of how well the krait moves and boost drifts, its like somebody took the python and crossed it with the clipper... thats genuinely how i feel...with my now sold python's internals(sold before krait was even announced to give some buffer after i got my vette months ago... and just felt no need to get another python... the krait ensured i wont need a python.... its a fun little beast... seriously give it some basic in bubble eng and try it in a cz..i spent 3 hrs in one an hour after i got it an figured out what weapon loadout i liked best... solo in a high intensity cz in ix, i had a blast... only ended up cheesing it because i needed a break, my hand was cramping... the krait really is a great ship, the python is as well but, the lack of fighter bay when the model shows one..always bothered me.. the nose/belly mount also sucks blocks the cargo scoop enough to be annoying, and is as big a pain to keep on target as the vetts... worse actually...(arks...) anyway, i gotta say, the Krait is alot more fun then the python for me, and i have done both combat and cargo in it (made 50m by sourcing 90 units of slaves and bringing it back... krait has much better jump range then vette, and plenty of cargo for 90 units!!!!
Ummm A rating equipment is not always good.. Because prior to whatever, sometime you needed your ship to have more mass to match a B rated power plant or thruster or whatever.. Then you can tweak it with engineer over a gamble. But I don't know now since building a ship is very linear to the concept of understanding a perfect balance ship.
I like my Krait very much. With PvP pitch speed is a must when using flight assist off. What's 50 points of armor in a PvP duel if your opponent has a faster turning, better boosting Krait? 50 points of armor is butkus.
I wanted a Fighter Hangar so that decided it for me. It's silly that a Python conceivably has room for one but it's can't have one because "it can't"

Astro, you have a Krait-day my friend, thanks on the review
A Krait day to you too :).
astro are you Danish?
i am indeed :-)
Down to Earth Astronomy - I guessed right :)
In the immortal words of the little Ortega girl: "why don't we have both?"
The crait is a blast to fly. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite combat ships. I thought I would miss the extra 6 optional and hitpoints, but I dont.
Try the fdl it's the best ship for bounty hunting

I just realised instead of gathering materials to upgrade my Krait, I can just strip the modules off of my Python. :-D
Challenger is a POS
Cheeky J There are 2 types of people. ^^^^
Challenger is identical to the Chieftain, save for hard points and hull armor. Wasn't a fan of the Chieftain, not a fan of the Challenger. Definitely go with the Krait
The Challenger simply melts the event ships with ease. Only problem is a size six slot, for what, a shield cell? It's a hull tank.
This is just what I was looking for. Looks like I’ll do a python for my new mining build and the krait for my new fighter.
Overall I still favour the Python but the Krait is a welcomed addition for us 😊
Very usefull and informative. Thank you :-)
I'm getting the Python
That’s the best explanation of their differences I’ve seen. Thanks for the work.
I can't think of a single reason to buy a python now unless FDev buffs the python to finally use a fighter bay as well.
no. this did not turned out from the video. maybe you watched not the video but your wishes?
The difference for me is Krait has SLF ability and more speed.
Very useful as always. Currently upgrading Krait to Phantom for the extra 6 slot, more shield, more bins, docking computer when heavy cargo or supercruise to avoid star collision when afk.
krait wins. i love the python but it just turns like shit in combat.
Quantum
Plus you really have to engineer the hell out of the python to get even close to combat ready which sucks and nice name by the way haha
nice name yourself commander
A real combat pilot can handel this my friend i mean i fly with the 6E thrusters (i really need money) and can kill egals and anacondas with it
Python turns better than Krait, at least when both are equally engineered.
Plus the Python can stock up on SCBs, which works well with thermal vent efficient beam lasers 🙂
Have you tried turning flight assist off?
OMG! They put the landing gear on the wrong side of the ship!!
Keep up the good work! Love your videos!
Thanks for making all these videos. They really help out a noob like me.
In a straight up PVP fight, the Krait would run or die.
yeah, but pve the krait would overall be better. Yeah PVP does go to the python.
metaVendetta It depends on the Pilot, in the hands of a really good Pilot, the extra agility of the Krait makes more difference than the durability of the Python.
@metaVendetta lol happy to duell any Python in my Krait!
I have a Krait kitted out for Thargoids.
the krait has an espresso maker! best ship ever!
'nuff said
Great comparison video! Thanks
Richtig gut. Mag deine Videos. 👍🏼
I really liked this ship comparison video. Thanks for doing this. Would love to see more comparisons of other ships that are seemingly similar.
o7 CMDR.
I have enough credits to fly anything in the game and I still fly the Python more than anything.
Just bought the Krait, Cargo capacity in the Python is best and weapondry the same. I'll keep both of course but I prefer Python
Thank you, that was a really nice comparison.
Yamiks is too late.
He may be yes but he does have a certain comedic flair to his "reviews"
I absolutely hate and loathe yamik's flavor of humour and the tone of his voice. I also dislike YankeeMarshal and Nutnfancy even tho they are immensely popular.
well to each his own I guess ;)
it's never to late to beat a dead horse
Thanks for the Review!
Great way of comparing the two.
Krait has a coffee machine, Python doesn’t
Easy answer: Krait wins
Both are good...its like are you going to get Ford or Chevy Truck...
The krait boosts for a really short time, making the python effectively have the same boost speed
i've done some engineering on the krait, and using class 4 power plant/distributor/thrusters i've managed to get it to over 40 light year jump range. looks like that can be pushed to almost 50ly with experimental upgrades.
Thank you for this quick overview. I like the look and feel of the Krait, but missing that 6 size internal has made me return to my beloved Python.
quite nice video and explanation , thank you .
I use Python for Mining and Cargo Running/Smuggling, I use Krait MK2 for Combat and Exploration.. There you go easy as that....
Oh, they went back to the old outfitting interface?
Nice, I am so happy Fdev listens to there players.
I fly a python, but I will happily tip my hat to the krait's hard point placement, speed, and fighter hanger. And it just looks awesome.
After watching your Python miner video. Selling my Krait Mk2 (Which I haven't even used anyway) and getting me a Python!
Someone mentioned the hitbox of the Krait, and that was my first thought looking at it - it's a big pancakey profile, where the Python is more compact. I worry that the Krait is easier to shoot. Anyone have experience for or against this?
Nice video, thanks for doing the work
Excellent comparison. Haven't owned a python in a long time but might pick up a K just to play around with
I bought a python just for doing Robigo mining passenger missions. It's nothing but passenger cabins. I call it the clown car
I tweaked it so that it has just enough range to make the round trip to Sothis in two jumps, with a full fuel tank giving it just enough fuel to make it without needing to fuel scoop
Loving asteroid mining in my Python
Exactly what I was looking for, thx!
Both!
Unless something has severely changed, the armour rating has nothing to do with the chance of module damage. It only serves to determine damage based on the ratio of armour rating and the armour piercing value of the weapon. (which has nothing to do with a weapons ability to pierce armour, advanced Frontier logic)
The chance of breaking through the hull and cause module damage is determined by the min and max penetration chance that is weapon specific. Min chance applies when attacking a ship with 100% hull, max chance applies at 0% hull. In between it’s a linear function.
Tnx Down to Earth, very informative video
easy solution to this, get both! (I have one in the bubble and the other in colonia)
I have a Python for the heavy stuff like mining and combat/collecting and a Krait phantom for exploration. Mk II is only desirable for the fighter bay, which is pretty nice, but I don’t like sharing my spoils.
Great video as usual! I have to say that Krait won my heart due to fun to fly factor. Those sounds
Havent tried the challenger yet though..
Thanks, needed that!
seriously: this is a choice by heart - and there is no other outcome: python is love! it was - by far - my favorite ship, followed by the asp.
Perfect video. Kudos.
Krait 9/10 times. The only advantage Python has is tier 6 optional slot where Krait has 5. Krait looks cooler, handles better and OMG these 3 large hardpoints have such a great placement. The only case where Python would be superior is if you trading, transporting or playing space uber.
Nice video thanks. Liked and shared for you buddy.
Awesome review. Now I actually think I might get a krait :P
Krait vs Fer-De-Lance , plz
good comparison. thx m8
fighter bay for the win!! just because they are fun. and draw the enemy away.
Why cant the python just get a fighter hanger also? If it did I would replace my annacoda with my python for my main ship.
I think that's precisely WHY they haven't done it - it would make the Python TOO versatile. Frontier want players to have a reason to buy other ships. Apart from anything else, so they can sell you skins and shipkits…..
I believe the Python is too flat to fit the fighter hanger also. If you look at the Krait it has a fairly large bulge where the fighter hanger is.
if i get pulled out by a python in my krait, its a deat python... period.. after testing alot of weapon loadouts i found that with 3 beam turrets on top, and whatever the fuck i decide to toss in the other slots, i can 1v1 deadly-elite corvetts and condas without them even taking a full ring of shields down, this is because of how well the krait moves and boost drifts, its like somebody took the python and crossed it with the clipper... thats genuinely how i feel...with my now sold python's internals(sold before krait was even announced to give some buffer after i got my vette months ago... and just felt no need to get another python... the krait ensured i wont need a python.... its a fun little beast... seriously give it some basic in bubble eng and try it in a cz..i spent 3 hrs in one an hour after i got it an figured out what weapon loadout i liked best... solo in a high intensity cz in ix, i had a blast... only ended up cheesing it because i needed a break, my hand was cramping...
the krait really is a great ship, the python is as well but, the lack of fighter bay when the model shows one..always bothered me.. the nose/belly mount also sucks blocks the cargo scoop enough to be annoying, and is as big a pain to keep on target as the vetts... worse actually...(arks...)
anyway, i gotta say, the Krait is alot more fun then the python for me, and i have done both combat and cargo in it (made 50m by sourcing 90 units of slaves and bringing it back... krait has much better jump range then vette, and plenty of cargo for 90 units!!!!
Really good video I think you should do this for more ships
krait mk2 is my baby no matter what it was the first ship i truly fell in love it and will never let her go
Thank you !
Krait, no question.
That being said, I already have a kitted up T7 so I don't need the python to do general business. *shrug*
