Great video and a useful exercise but I wouldn't recommend this method to new players. You'll find yourself in over your head very quickly, particularly if you play in 'open'. Take your time and enjoy the journey. Elite isn't about instant gratification, at least not for me. I spent weeks running rares in a Cobra and then an Asp to get the credits for a Python. If you do the "Exploration - From Zero to Hero" route that will make you Explo Elite directly and also gives you access to the Founders World where you get the Conda with a discount. It might be a bit longer than 14 hours, but I think its worth it.
I am way late, but I have 2 questions. One, does it still take you all the way to elite, Or will I need to go a bit farther maybe? And two, where can I find this route?
yeah sidewinder to anaconda in 14 hours WHEN YOU'RE PRO AT COMBAT.. I like this as a good guide to three of the main money routes in Elite (rare goods trading and mining being the other two). If folks get tired of the Robigo/Sothis loops, buying those ships (in that order) will give them a fleet capable of top tier play for half the price of the Conda.

@@monikajasinski9750 haha thanks bro, I already Have the federal corvette and the imperial cutter 😂 very helpfull comment for players who still needs them
In all honesty after playing with at least two of the big four ships for a new person looking to get this thing the pros dont outweigh the cons sadly ( lumbering ship size, skill to dock, skill to fight, expensive upgrade costs to be decent, hit markers everywhere, easy to destroy its reactor and lots of other things ). A good ship for any new player to farm towards are most of the medium sized ships because by far they are most versatile and their pros outweigh their cons. ( decent ship size, easier to dock, easier to fight, upgrades aren't too ungodly expensive, purmaboost and so on ) your video is still great for some players though, dont get me wrong.
I agree, I grinded my ass off to get the Conda and I don't think I've ever flown it more than twice. As soon as I got it, managed to squeeze it out the mail slot then realised I'm not skilled enough to pilot the thing so I squeezed it back in and I don't think I've flown it since. 😂
I'm basically a classic example of "don't try to run before you can walk" 😂 still, I'm getting there, I'm currently on DW2, probably about 2 more hour's worth of jumps away from Beagle Point. Space madness has well and truly set in! 🤣
Void opals are dogshit now. 4-500k a pop. Monazite is now the most lucrative to mine. Fit my clipper with 192 tons of cargo and spend an hour or so mining, I walk away with 150mil credits
Did almost the same thing, but went straight to a hauler, kitted it for exploration, did the first 15 planets on Road2Riches and went straight into a Python, which i kitted for mining and did that until i got a Type 9. Then traded my way to an Anaconda at the rate of about 100mil / hour. Only bump i hit was landing on planets with life. That takes some time but it's worth for that bonus. I loved this method coz it gave me a taste of everything, and i loved exploration. The downside is i have all the ships i need (krait mk2, phantom, imperial eagle, type 9, vulture, type 9, python) that i have no idea what to do with the Anaconda. Just spend 700 mil on it and I'd rather fly anything else.
I did almost this but I added a few extra steps. I used the RTR data to get reputation with those factions needed for the Engineers. Blue Mafia etc. Slows the run to the Anaconda but saves time and effort later.
I did similar to this and bought the Type 10. It;s sat in the hanger as I blew it up twice and it near cleaned me out buying it back. I think the top shield is 99 million credits. Best FSD 45 million. It costs a bloody fortune to get it to a top spec, so I'm sticking with the Ask Explorer to generate money for the mods.
just so you guys know incase you missed it hes got a video for all the things you missed in this video. Oh and he has a video explaining that video and why you should watch all of his other videos
Great vid, nice work. Such a pity that RtR is the recommended method for the 5 to 40 million level by so many long term E:D players. I've been putting off doing it but it looks like I'll have to just to get to an Imperial system to rank up for that sweet Cutter.
Flying in a WING IS ALWAYS MORE PROFITABLE. Here I play on a Xbox one X and very happy playing with friends or solo. Solo mostly exploration. Combat with friends to gang on Elite ranked ships make it soo fun. Like head to a Conflict zone and tilt a battle. Now I wish there was a realistic mode with NO ENEMY SHIP SOUNDS. YES THERE IS NO SOUND IN SPACE. That's the only thing I would add, as an option.
I think it took me about 6 hours to get 1M credits. Bought a Viper Mk III. Fitted it for mining. Sold 30-40 units of LTD each run until I could afford a Python. Fitted it for mining (again), and now I have 444M credits, making 175-200M per run. I stopped for a while to enjoy combat in a Fer de Lance. Now, back to mining until I get to 1B, at which point I'll go back to the Fer de Lance and take some time to start getting Federation rank for the Corvette. How long it takes me is of no consequence.
Great video and all, but I know for a fact that you have much more fun steadily progressing your way to the top. This game is so enchanting in the beginning, but to throw it all away in just 14 hours would essentially kill the experience.
I agree but this is a great guide someone can use to boost their credits at any time. I think it is only actually useful once you start flying the medium ships because before that honestly upgrading ships is very fast and rewarding. Wich means youre right. I fondly remember trading my winder for an eagle, then a viper and trying trading in cobra, than vulture, asp... Than i discovered piracy and this game now has me haha
Eduardo Freitas piracy is probably the most fun and thrilling part of the game. even though I sucked hard XD tried it once in an asp. found one player but he fled so I had to kill him. got a bounty on me, got catched by a fer-de-lance and begged for my life and he let me go. haven't touched piracy since XD
@@IIAndersII hahaha thats awesome. But for piracy to be profitable (and it is very profitable unlile what some people say) unfortunately it has to be npc piracy. Hope you join the black sails again! :D
Sidewinder to 'conda can be done in 3-5hrs. 1. Grind for credits. 2. Buy the cheapest large-sized ship, and fit it with scoop and extra fuel tanks. 3. Fly to Alpha Centauri 4. Fully refuel there. 5. Select the "Hutton Orbital" station in the same system. 6. Fly in supercruise to the station. This should take about 1 and 1/2 hours. 7. Dock at the station and claim your free anaconda. 8. PROFIT! Edit: Fixed Spelling
There is a well-known joke that players can get a free Anaconda by simply visiting Hutton Orbital. This is impossible, as Hutton Orbital has no large Landing Pads or Shipyard. The joke is aimed at inexperienced players to try and get them to embark on the lengthy journey to Hutton Orbital and waste their time.
Oh wow congrats... you made the game from a fun experience in which you can do anything you wish into a 14 hour drive, after which you're not gonna wanna play again...
I was playing for a bit before I got this idea naturally by waiting near a Nav Beacon. Got 1mil by accepting contracts on pirates in the system, and about 500k from bounties in about 4-6 hours. Didn't do it with a Sidewinder but I had a ship less than 100k, upgrading as I went along
I will listen to these advice, it will not take me 14 hours to get to the anaconda, but I think I will get there now a bit faster then before. Thanks again
And people complain this game is too grindy. Good job with this though. I have over 350h played and still haven't bought an Anaconda yet. I am too busy with exploration and engineers then I will probably get a Corvette first.
I'm sorry, one can't appreciate the game if you do that. The game needs to be lived. It needs to be experienced over time. I remember after months of playing, I achieved elite status. I went to Sinrarta Dezhra. Going through the mail slot of Jameson Memorial was like entering Camelot. You have to work to get there. You can't appreciate it if you can get there in a few days.
Oh following a anaconda authority vessel in my sidewinder shooting what he shoots good memories. Don't play fast it's bad form. Enjoy your own path I went from sidewinder directly to Asp Explorer for trading , because I heard it was a ship people stayed in I stripped down everything and cargo racked it up. Did in system commodity trading.I still went back to do bounty hunting in my sidewinder cause small ship bounty hunting is more fun , but those lucrative trade offers got me. Got greedy bought a type 7 started making even more money then then sold everything to afford a type 9 and could afford every ship in game after that grinded imperial agriculture famine and got myself a Cutter.
I'm still sad I can't smuggle like I used to. I'm still trying to keep at it but not being able to stack the way I did makes it hard. Combat can be steady but it's still on the slow end.
To be Frank , you can get elite and 360 milion in less than 24 hrs gameplay and unluck palin at the same time. in nothng more than the hummble side winder. 1 get a side winder ,(well you already have one so ignore it) 2 remove shields 3 ad fuel tank 4 ad fuel scoop 5 upgrade FSD to A 6 upgrade the internals to D 7 at start set galactic map to civilisations most valuable planets are in these systems.(hell why do you think they are inhabited) 8 ad surface scanner 9 inter mediate scanner ( reason low fuel reserves and most valuable systems are in the 1000 ls range) 10 set galactic map to FGKM systems 11 set course to Medusa's Rock in the Crescent Sector GW-W c1-8 12 land dock repair sell data return to the bubble. 13 Congratulations your elite and are 360 million richer with less than a milion in investment
@@anze2474 It'll probably take a while, and 360 million purely in exploration means, very very many planets to be scanned. A good and promising terraformable now will give roughly 1 million credits with a scan, and mapping. Currently, the main way to get profit is deep core mining, with some initial investment. Mostly, just find an icy ring, and use a pulse scanner to find the rocks you need(Takes a bit of meta knowhow to find it, should be some videos better explaining this) After that, you collect 10-15 tons of ore that can be sold for between 500k, to 1.6 million per ton, if you find the right system. It may take some time, but the payout is rather strong. I recommend at least 32 cargo space, 64 is more comfortable. At least 2 active collector limpets Pulse Wave Scanner Seismic Mining charge Abrasion Blaster A refinery with at least 2 slots, 4 if possible. A surface scanner to scan rings Maybe a few other things I forgot about, but if you search/google around you should find it.
Could have saved more money by selling the cobra after bounty hunting and fitting a hauler, which jumps even better.. is cheaper and easier to refuel and handle in supercruise
Biggest problem with the game is, the only "Bubble" in the game are Humanity's. You have a 1:1 scale of the galaxy. There is more than enough room for Kilrathi, Klingons, Delvians, Sebatians, the Nox, Ori, Cylon bubbles......see what I am trying to say? There is no reason to not have Alien civilizations littered all over the place. The galaxy just feels empty.
I thought about it just now, and would have agreed with you initially. But the problem with having other Civs is that having the bubble gives players who play in open an incentive to stay inside the bubble and keep those systems populated. Additionally, adding bubbles could be wasted resources as people might still stick to the bubble and those other bubbles only have >100 players in. I've heard Sol is pretty populated, that might change drastically if they added bubbles in other parts of the galaxy. Imagine being in open, going to Sol and seeing no-one. I play in solo so it doesn't affect me, but I can imagine players quitting the game because there are no players to interact with.
Its the worst possible thing a beginner could do yet their all going for this method as soon as they find out then wonder why i shoot m to bits with a mildly engineered vulture
Hell I can't even land my ship in a base.. I just started with this game and have been blown up 3 times. I can't land.. I go into a base.. and try to find the freaking landing pad I'm assigned to and it never happens... no matter what base I'm trying to go into the auto dock thing never comes on.
You start out with the docking assist chip. Once you upgrade ships a couple times they stop coming with those chips, store it when you buy your new one and move it over to the new ship. I can land, but for such little money for a chip, why bother. You have to throttle down to 0 and it kicks on
Only here because I got my anaconda then on day one, died then didn't realise i had no money for insurance, i lost everything. I think that this game can go to hell ^^ You can't even pay it out later or bank a certain amount of credits to make sure you can pay it. Uninstalled and forgotten. Fuck this game.
Funny how i've grinded all the way to an anaconda(this took months as a noob), and like 2 days after getting it, there's a community mission that paid me 300m for turning in scan data.... so now I got 2 condas xD
funny....took me nearly 14 hours to bind my controller/joystick and learn to how to fly, use the fsd drive and dock properly.
same unfortunately i dont own a joystick/ controler and have to use my keyboard wich makes speed controll a bit harder

Thats exactly how it should be.
When you are too fast you are a beginner in a end tier ship.
Who doesnt have a clue what hes doing.
(yes, its an old comment) it took me 30 minutes to set up my joystick and learn to fly, supercruise and hyperspace jump, and to dock properly.
Yeah but that was your first time. This will have been planned for months in advance
Selling exploration data one at a time to ally is a great tip in general.

@@BlenderHelixAlpha Annnnd that’s exactly why new players should definitely not follow this guide. It took me months to get my anaconda.
Hakunai honestly smalls are really nice for the average player. Affordable upkeep.. then engineer them. My engi dbx can take on just about anything
I guess you’re right. I don’t think docking is that hard is this game since you can control your ship in all axis.
It took me... Hundreds of hours to get my Anaconda. 700 hours in now, still haven't gotten the best build for it.
200 hours in and around 500 million creds. Gotta do some mining, about an hour of mining yields 30-50 million in juicy rings.
@@steviesavagery or 200mil with void opals, sitting with almost a billion of cash with my trusty old mining anaconda :D
I got the anaconda in around 9 and a half hours of gameplay. Void opals and a 1.4 million selling price at my system helped out a lot though.
Yes u can do it in 14hours of boring money grind or take a month and enjoy the game with your squadron
lmao it took me 14 hours to find out how to jump to mawson dock
Nice video, this was extremely helpful.
You are a man amongst boys.
Never played this game. But I found the video very interesting indeed. Gz on your new ship
llMcSH4DYll if you like space sims you should definitely get the game.
Remember your likely telling this to new players. DONT shoot the ship until your scan in done or the cops shoot YOU next.
It only takes one and a half hours to fly to Hutton Orbital!
just so you guys know incase you missed it hes got a video for all the things you missed in this video. Oh and he has a video explaining that video and why you should watch all of his other videos
This is a tutorial for the "best situation" a player can have.
Different strokes for different folks.
Eduardo Freitas
piracy is probably the most fun and thrilling part of the game. even though I sucked hard XD
tried it once in an asp. found one player but he fled so I had to kill him. got a bounty on me, got catched by a fer-de-lance and begged for my life and he let me go. haven't touched piracy since XD
3. Fly to Alpha Centauri
I swear to God, I can't believe this still works
There is a well-known joke that players can get a free Anaconda by simply visiting Hutton Orbital. This is impossible, as Hutton Orbital has no large Landing Pads or Shipyard. The joke is aimed at inexperienced players to try and get them to embark on the lengthy journey to Hutton Orbital and waste their time.
Oh wow congrats... you made the game from a fun experience in which you can do anything you wish into a 14 hour drive, after which you're not gonna wanna play again...
Videochat ad on this video gives me a bad feeling about youtube
I was playing for a bit before I got this idea naturally by waiting near a Nav Beacon. Got 1mil by accepting contracts on pirates in the system, and about 500k from bounties in about 4-6 hours. Didn't do it with a Sidewinder but I had a ship less than 100k, upgrading as I went along
You can make several million credits in 20 mins just from doing delivery reports.
14 hours? Thats about as Long as IT took me to figure out outfitting
Most expensive ship i have ever got was and asp explore, and i have 150hours
Owke your probebly takimg it really slow barely got 40 hours in and i a graded a krait mk 2 yesterday
Dude are you just taking it super slow or what? I've been playing for 3 days and just bought a type 6 yesterday and still have 7 million left over
I like exploring ;-;
I must have 70 hours in the game and still not near a large ship, wow
I have 40 hours and I have a python, I'm almost near the anaconda
I have 390 hours in this game and if i sell everything i would be at 24 million...
you should make this video again with the new mining update, im sure you can get from 0 to Conda in just a couple hours
Thats what im saying. 54mil in under an hour for 69 painite!
I will listen to these advice, it will not take me 14 hours to get to the anaconda, but I think I will get there now a bit faster then before. Thanks again
you could make this into a series slower paced survival using every possible method of making credits to see which is most enjoyable :)
The better play in 2024 would be a Python hauler, then a Fleet Carrier in 7 days or less. I did buy an Anaconda along the way.
And there's me attempting to mine astroids for a couple of thousand credits a trip 😐
Low. Temperature. Diamonds.
Do it much quicker than this. Just fly to Hutton Orbital in an hour and a half or so, and you can pick up a free one.
@dtea Do you think this would be possible with all the nerfs in 2020?
I think i could do it faster now.
You can also do this cheaper with a hauler instead of a cobra and it has higher jump range.
And people complain this game is too grindy.
Good job with this though. I have over 350h played and still haven't bought an Anaconda yet. I am too busy with exploration and engineers then I will probably get a Corvette first.
Good video!
I'm a year into the game and just got my anaconda. Now I watch this video and my mind is blown, lol
Cool. You managed to play this game for 14 hours! Now what.................
Bought my anaconda yesterday! :) favorite part now is lettin my buddy use the fighter hangar instead of his sidewinder
and now you can do it in a few jumps
8 month later I play this and after 2 weeks I got to 20 mil
So the type 7 is a large ship. Robigo is only a medium landing pad no?
Can I do this by myself? Video still up to date?
I'm sorry, one can't appreciate the game if you do that. The game needs to be lived. It needs to be experienced over time.
I remember after months of playing, I achieved elite status. I went to Sinrarta Dezhra. Going through the mail slot of Jameson Memorial was like entering Camelot. You have to work to get there. You can't appreciate it if you can get there in a few days.
This is after you played ED for a year.
wow...it took you only 14 hours and me 340 hours..i feel bad for myself
This was really helpfull! Thanj you!
Super fedt tak for en god start!(:
What now?
Oh man , I just ate coleslaw if I was in a spacesuit , I would die from my own flatulence.
Without any guides yeeears back, took about 100 hours for me to get a Python :D
i tried to do a Passenger liner and I don't understand it, can you help me.
German UA-camr Alp made IT in 10.5h...
Tis all well and good when you know how to play the game. I went Sidewinder to T10 in 2 hours by joining a Clan and sharing missions 😂.
So you still play the game ?
I'm sorry but i'm never gonna do passenger missions, I'll stick with being a bounty hunter :DD
I'm still sad I can't smuggle like I used to. I'm still trying to keep at it but not being able to stack the way I did makes it hard. Combat can be steady but it's still on the slow end.
Super Dave!
To be Frank , you can get elite and 360 milion in less than 24 hrs gameplay and unluck palin at the same time. in nothng more than the hummble side winder.
1 get a side winder ,(well you already have one so ignore it)
2 remove shields
3 ad fuel tank
4 ad fuel scoop
5 upgrade FSD to A
6 upgrade the internals to D
7 at start set galactic map to civilisations most valuable planets are in these systems.(hell why do you think they are inhabited)
8 ad surface scanner
9 inter mediate scanner ( reason low fuel reserves and most valuable systems are in the 1000 ls range)
10 set galactic map to FGKM systems
11 set course to Medusa's Rock in the Crescent Sector GW-W c1-8
12 land dock repair sell data return to the bubble.
13 Congratulations your elite and are 360 million richer with less than a milion in investment
Can someone confirm this actually works?
@@anze2474 It'll probably take a while, and 360 million purely in exploration means, very very many planets to be scanned. A good and promising terraformable now will give roughly 1 million credits with a scan, and mapping.
Currently, the main way to get profit is deep core mining, with some initial investment. Mostly, just find an icy ring, and use a pulse scanner to find the rocks you need(Takes a bit of meta knowhow to find it, should be some videos better explaining this)
After that, you collect 10-15 tons of ore that can be sold for between 500k, to 1.6 million per ton, if you find the right system. It may take some time, but the payout is rather strong. I recommend at least 32 cargo space, 64 is more comfortable.
At least 2 active collector limpets
Pulse Wave Scanner
Seismic Mining charge
Abrasion Blaster
A refinery with at least 2 slots, 4 if possible.
A surface scanner to scan rings
Maybe a few other things I forgot about, but if you search/google around you should find it.
I play in solo so it doesn't affect me, but I can imagine players quitting the game because there are no players to interact with.
do you have to snan every single planet or is there a scanner that does that?
You have to throttle down to 0 and it kicks on
FYI, an ultimate build of an Anaconda cost about 800 million CR
Erm, I looked on Cori today and it was like 500mil
Made 40mil hauling stuff aiming for a python may may give the exploration thing a go
Only here because I got my anaconda then on day one, died then didn't realise i had no money for insurance, i lost everything. I think that this game can go to hell ^^ You can't even pay it out later or bank a certain amount of credits to make sure you can pay it. Uninstalled and forgotten. Fuck this game.
Actually its 100% your falt
Where can i find a Advance surface scanner???
Got my cutter, only a sized modules fsd grade 5 engineered 150hours in.
im at twice that time and still floating in my python. a heavily engineered python... still just a python.
How can you pick people from Robigo with a type 7
Funny how i've grinded all the way to an anaconda(this took months as a noob), and like 2 days after getting it, there's a community mission that paid me 300m for turning in scan data.... so now I got 2 condas xD
Did he use Horizons? to check planets and go down to them?
Just go to hutton orbital
How can I find a res ?I don’t get it
Instead of cobra, a hauler can fo it too. I earned a million kill stealing then bought a hauler and used road to riches
why diddntyou just go to huttton orbital?
