- In this video i painted the wheels, exhaust, triple tree and gas tank. Overall I spent about 100$ on paint and supplies. The paint was used on the rear wheel was a metallic grey and a metallic was used on the front wheel. Both colors were used on a tank and 2x clear coat. Super happy with how everything came out and one step closer to finishing this build.
Not going to show all the tedious work of the hand controls and wiring of the headlight because i feel like I've showed it a few ties already but lmk if it is something you guys want to see and I'll do it.
ENJOY!!
Love this series. Just subbed man, keep up the great content 🔥🔥🔥
My guy 🙏🏻
Loving the series. Great job.
Ive got the same bike and I've just stripped it back to get the frame powder-coated.
I'm deciding if I should keep the handlebars or switch to clip-ons. With yours, did you get a new top triple tree that suits clip-ons? If so, can you send a link?
I also installed a digital dash on mine as the OEM housing became brittle and the speedometer fell off when I tried to swap out the dash lights to LED.
@@tyronecastillo16 nice, send through some updates. I love the clip ons but it’s an aggressive stance. Not very comfy for more than a 20 mins ride. The clip on fit with originally triple
Looking good bro
Appreciate it 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Now I know why I don’t see you at the gym. Bro is working
😂 😂
Ooooooooo! Coming along! Looks good. Hey, do everyone a solid if you get a chance and do a detailed explanation of how you managed the electrical under the seat. Like a camera on tripod slow explanation so we can see what you did. I have to be honest this is the most confusing part of this bike for me. Where and how do I reposition all that stuff!? And don't dread the seat, just buy a good cafe or scrambler seat. A proper one! Forget this fibreglass garbage! too finicky. I'm going to attempt to make mine out of wood and then put the most luxurious foam money can buy on top of it. ...and then I'll probably end up buying one in the end!
Aye what’s up Keith, yeah I can deff include some stills of how I have the electrical situated. And yeah I’m going to try to do it out of wood. I’d like to find a nice piece of ash big enough where I don’t have to glue pieces together. But yeah that’s the plan!
just dropped a vid on this
@@jimmybuildsbikes is a ROCKSTAR! 🤙
Year Of gs500? 1998? Nice job
thank you its a 2002!
@@jimmybuildsbikes i am Brazilian IM inspired in the your bike
@@renanreis4185 glad I can inspire!
Hi, please, can you explain how were you able to fit the rear Tire, I mean to go from 130 to 160, I don't have enough space to go to a 140. I didn't know it was possible!
stock was a 140 so i went up from 140/55 -->160/60. It is tight but fits. when i brought them to the shop to get put on they had a lot of trouble getting them mounted but were able to pull it off. what's the year of your bike? this is an 02
@@jimmybuildsbikes Oohh I see, thank you so much for the information, those bigger tires and darker wheels look amazing on the GS, you're doing a great job, also thanks for sharing your work.
My GS500 is from 1995, my first and only bike, which I still have, but now it needs some paint and I think it's going to be a nice project.
@@-GS5- appreciate it man that’s for following
Hey, i'm not an expert but everywhere i see in forums that the stock tire is 130 and going to 140 is no problem. They say though that going to 160 is very complicated and can rub on stuff and while 150 is ok, it does cause pinching on the tire and makes it behave erratically. So i wouldn't recommend. That being said if you upgrade to a bigger rim you can easily fit up to 160 without problems.
Did you change out the tires yourself or did you have a shop do it
One of the few things I had a shop do
@@jimmybuildsbikes one more question if you don't mind....your clip on bars...are they a certain brand
@@uncommoncents2152 ask away, I cheaped out on the bars at first and got 40$ ones off Amazon. They are horrible though don’t do this. So I bought Vortex bars I think they were like 180. Weren’t many options for 37mm forks (I think that’s what they were)
@@jimmybuildsbikes vortex are the same ones I'm looking at....appreciate your time
Bro I need new tank full for Suzuki GS 500 f 2005 from where I can buy
