Great advice to prepare for hurricanes 👍 we had friends who did not stock up on water, canned goods, fill tubs and Charlie came through Central Florida, lost power 4-5 days and many lost water as well including her. From that storm on she has always prepared. Keep the good info coming, y'all are the best! Loved Cayo (spelling) 🐶🐾
We've been watching for years. Our fourth Villages visit is coming up in November to hopefully pick a floor plan for our plan to new build at Eastport. Can't wait :)
Hi Jerry and Linda, As many folks have told you, I moved to The Villages last April because of your UA-cam videos. I want to say thank you to both of you for all the information and stories about life here. I've never been happier in my life. I think of myself as very fortunate that I found your videos and thankful each day for moving to The Villages. Steve
I have no desire to move to Florida or The Villages but your vids are very interesting, entertaining, and informative. Thank you! Stay safe with all the storms down there!!
One of the things to consider. When we bought our new cart in Feb. we were going to do the flip down rear facing seat. Our dealer made us think.. with the price increase for It and for how many times people will visit. We could rent a 2 seater (3 days min.) 12 times and break even. We also know, our guests would prefer to drive their own cart. 😊
Does the weather radio have batteries in case power goes out? Great show as always, I've caught up now! Well I still have to watch the live streamed shows but I'll leave that for another day. All the best!
Great show !!! So excited , we got the lot we have been waiting on last week ! So looks like we will be in the villages no later then this time next year!
Watching this video after Hurricane Milton came through. So good to see Peter Bernard demonstrate the weather radio. I will definitely need one if I move to The Villages next year. The Chicago area has tornado warning sirens...that is the scariest sound to hear. Yikes about the alligator who got that man's catfish. My late Dad loved to cook & eat catfish. So glad The Villages came through fairly unscathed after Helene & Milton. As much as I would love to live on one of the coasts, after Ian, Helene & Milton, I think living inland would be best for me. I feel for the folks in eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina & the areas of Florida hard hit over the past 2 weeks.😢
Got here last night and on the way to Aldi to get groceries this morning, we popped into Bargains & Blessing and parked at the new parking garage! No more hoping to find a parking spot! Hooray! Great show!
I`m so glad TV and you came through the hurricane ok! I saw a youtube this morning of the stormsurge damage in western South Carolina and it broke my heart. It looked more like tornado damage than what I would think of as hurricane damage - the power of water is not to be doubted. Greetings from Switzerland.
Great show! The gater water footage was interesting those critters can move fast. No little dogs and kitties on the bank. Glad you all got through the storm alright. The pet of the week doggy was awesome. What a happy family and pup. Thank you for bringing us such entertaining content 😊
Hello Jerry and Linda love watching your show you are so uplifting and very positive. I wanted to chime in on two questions that was asked of you on this episode. I live in Woodbury and we are newbies only one year in the villages. We spend a lot of time in summer months in our 45 ft Motorhome. The person who wrote in about traveling to visit family in their RV. My suggestion is we have wonderful 55+ and older RV resorts right outside the Villages. You can rent spot hook up your Rv and go stay with family in the Villages. Also there is RV parks that are NOT 55+ older. Also the lady who wrote in and said is there any singles living in the Villages mostly married coupe. My whole street is single people. Some our widowed men that are in their late 50s. You really should elaborate and be more encouraging for single people to come join in on all the fun. I feel if you are a homebody and not outgoing don’t come to the villages your wasting money. But if you want to golf, swim, play pickleball, cards, dance, eat and go on cruises this place is GREAT for eco e single or married.
Back in the 70&80’s, Radio Shack carried a weather radio. They were great gifts. You had to push in the top to get weather updates. A alert would sound if there was an alert and then play the message from the National Weather Service
Great show today. Last Monday we were driving from Ohio to Asheville NC to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tuesday was beautiful but heavy rain moved in Wednesday overnight so we cut our trip short and left Thursday. You can’t imagine how shocking it is to see what happened in the very area where we were staying just one day earlier.
Yes I live a small town in NWNC and the storm was catastrophic and a lot of people still are trying to literally digging out. NC has 92 deaths verified so far. Asking for your prayers please 🙏 ❤
We prepared for the storm by staying at our Door County Wisconsin house until late October. We are suffering through sunny days with temperatures in the mid-70s.
You are right, Jerry! That is exactly what happened to the young man fishing in Pennbrooke. If only his line had broken! That video gave me chills, taking me back to that fateful day on March 10th. Be careful fishing with your precious grandchildren❣️
Such a great show....where do I even start? 1. Anyone who mentions "Donna Reed" is automatically TOPS in my book 2. My favorite section - Our and about - HAVANA! I live very close to that and feel like I won the lotto with Havana as my neighbor! Amazing place.... 3.Bubble Wrap - I have that radio also!!! Nice... I could go on, but you get the point. LOVE the show, love you both.....hope to see you all soon! CHEERS!
Definitely we must buy that Weather Alert radio for our peace of mind. Wowza what a huge gator who appreciate Jerry giving that big catfish he caught!!!
My friend who bought her patio villa in TV as a single, retired teacher in 2012 is not a millionaire. She still works part-time to supplement her income. I asked her a few months ago if she had stayed in the Chicago area as opposed to moving to The Villages, what would her standard of living be? She said she believes the cost of living for her in Central Florida is slightly less than if she had stayed in suburban Chicago.
I am in Clearwater and was very fortunate to have had no problem with the storm, but many, many people in the surrounding neighborhoods didn’t get their power or internet back on until Sunday night.
Linda and Jerry, I live in Tallahassee and there are no watering restrictions here. That's because most of N. FL and much of central FL, too, sits on top of the biggest source of clean, fresh water in the world--the Floridan Aquifer. South FL does not benefit from it, as it stops somewhere around Gainesville or Orlando, I think, in the middle of the state.
Ok, that was a great show Jerry and Linda, I wish I could keep up with all you do? I'm working on a new farm in Ohio, and just can't find time?? But I will!! Because you two are the best!!!❤
long time subscriber and huge fan. Hoping to become a neighbor very soon, however this latest storm Helene is potentially going to affect homeowners' insurance policy increases and or cancelations. Please put your ear out and let us know of any potential effects on Villages looking forward post Helene.
What I say to people like Mr Salty is...."you are so right. Florida is not for everyone". I'm selfish that I want to keep it a secret so there's still room for me when hubby retires in 2 yrs. 😊 I don't try to convince anyone to move to Florida. 😂
Yellow labs, best dogs EVER!! Yes. Been to Katz’s deli and had the hot pastrami sandwich. And a pickle. Sandwich was so big. Ate half for lunch. Saved the other half for dinner. My wife and I had driven from Syracuse to Manhattan that morning with our daughter’s belongings to her new apartment. Her first job after graduating from college. We moved her in. Took her and her roommate to lunch at Katz’s deli, a three block walk from her apartment. We treated the girls to lunch, walked them back to the apartment, and then headed back home. It was about a 5 hour drive door to door after going through the tunnel and traffic.
With all of your friends there, maybe you guys could collect money or put together "essential bags" where you put snacks, a toothbrush, paste a pair of socks in baggies for hurricane victims. I give money for people in need, but I saw someone with the bag idea and loved it.
The last time I was in Kat's was about 60 years ago when I lived in Brooklyn. George, My wife is a secretary, I'm a retired Head High School custodian.
Quite a few 2 bedroom patio villas under $300K, both new & preowned, for sale in The Villages. I watch the prices for patio villas at least once a week, both for sale through Properties of The Villages & the MLS. Yes, you can buy a home for under $300K in The Villages.
Oh my gosh! I can't image the looks Jerry got from the Japanese on that visit! 😂 With him so tall he must have been a GIANT to them!! Hope the bed was long enough for ya if you stayed in a hotel!! GREAT SHOW AGAIN! TVs has so much to offer in those retirement years! I'm always amazed at all there is to do! So happy Hurricane Helene did not devastate your area like it did in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and more! Holy smokes the videos are super scary showing those creeks becom a raging river causing catastrophic damage! 😢
Hi guys, I absolutely love watching your show and I appreciate all the information that you share with us! So I was wondering if you have flood insurance and how much that is and what home insurance company you guys use? Thank you!!
We do not have flood insurance. We had it when we moved here, but decided to stop. Our insurance is through progressive, and golf cart insurance costs us about $150 per year.
Thanks for another great show! I appreciate all the hard work you put into it. And FYI... I LIVED IN SOUTH FLORIDA IN THE '80S AND THERE WAS A BIG ARTICLE IN THE PAPER HOW WE WERE GOING TO RUN OUT OF WATER BY 1989. nuf said 😅
The Villages was really hopping this weekend! We stayed at The Brownwood. Duke Energy had blocked out 50 rooms there and at all the hotels . The hotel also sadly had many families with dogs l think that many of them were refugees from the coast . My heart went out to those people . The grounds were all picked up , l think l saw one branch down . The weather wasn’t great with off and on storms , but it didn’t stop anything, the car show and the band at the Brownwood Sq was great . I kept putting on my poncho … just like at Disney . The only thing that didn’t have a good time was my hair …. It did things it has never done before and l hope never does again… Linda if you ever get a salty comments about your hair then please direct them to me to answer ! Have a great week full of blessings 😊
Good morning and happy Monday Jerry & Linda. Wednesday night lives are rough to make but I did make some of it from the call before Peter. I would want a 4 seater golf cart. You guys were like news weather reporters last Thursday on Facebook reporting in live from TV 😂. Oh no a 🐊, my biggest fear of Florida. Great water supply question. Here’s Peter with the great suggestion. Never even knew this weather alert existed. Great idea for areas with hurricanes, tornadoes 🌪️ etc. Wonder if it will pick up earthquakes for out west? Thanks Peter. Great pet of the week video showing different seasons. Yes Jerry. The tail tap 😂. Jerry I’m a New Yorker and have never been to Katz. Oh the amenity fee up to $194? It’s creeping up yearly. The salty is a creepy/cheesey opinion. Oh my. Hefty fried chicken plates. Sorry it wasn’t 100%. We bought a rotisserie chicken last week which is noted for the distinct flavor from Bjs. What a disappointment. So bland. I had to doctor it up. Made chicken salad and soup 😂. Oh the 2nd meals look amazing. That calzone😋😋😋. 🩷18yr survivor here. Thank you 🙏🏼. Oh dance companies and ballet 🩰 troupes too? Those I would really enjoy. Happy 60th birthday Frank 🎁🎉🎈🎊🎂🍾🥂. Always appreciate the shoutouts. Great show. Blooper break ending is perfect 😂😂😂.
Water is everything. We live on the Nature Coast. We are limited to watering out lawns to once a week. One thing that all developers need to do in FLA is a 50/50 mix of dirt and compost for finishing grades of your property. Most developers us any fill dirt they can. This dirt is not very good for growing anything including lawns. The University of Florida has done a bunch of research on this subject. What they found was that if you do a 50/50 mix of compost and dirt as the final grade on new home construction, the lawns on these new homes do significantly better. If the 50/50 mix is used, lawns grow much better and they use 1/2 as much water than the cheap fill dirt. The 50/50 mix acts like virgin Florida forest soil before any development. Many people top dress their lawns once a year with bagged compost like black cow that provides slow release nitrogen and holds the water better in the sandy soil of Florida.
Always love your videos Jerry and Linda, I’m watching from Ontario Canada, just across from Detroit Mi. I can see America from my back garden lol. Many thanks for sharing your lives with us, I sincerely enjoy watching and listening 💕 Have a delightful fun filled week!!! Love from Canada 🇨🇦 🩷 Tina 🩷
The Villages is one of the least expensive places to live. Average property tax is less than $4000 a year. Here on Amelia Island Florida, it's one of the most expensive... Yes we have amazing beaches and and surrounded by nature, but our 4300 SF home, property taxes are $25,000 a year. Water bill is $125 a month, and trash pick up is $115 a month.. BTW: Florida has an endless supply of fresh water.. the shortages at times are due to the holding and purification infrastructure, NOT the supply. The mis-information that people post, including the media about Florida is ALL politically motivated.
@barbaraebner5889 I am paying $3,400 per year in property taxes for a 2 bedroom, 1,000 square foot townhouse in suburban Chicago. For single family homes in my suburb, property taxes start at $5K and go up from there.
Loved today's show, J and L. Amazing video about the alligator stealing the fish. Glad there are huge areas around the ponds to keep a safe distance. So interesting about the weather radios, Peter. Very useful in Florida, home of so many dangerous weather events. Remember when folks kept barometers in their homes? The perception that people need to be millionaires to live in TV may seem true now that there are actually million $ homes there. I wonder if future retirees without pensions will still be able to afford their dream. Loved the bloopers.
Pensions are great but in some ways a 401 is better your heirs get to keep it when you die. Also I took a withdrawal to pay cash for my first Florida vacation home
Great advice to prepare for hurricanes 👍 we had friends who did not stock up on water, canned goods, fill tubs and Charlie came through Central Florida, lost power 4-5 days and many lost water as well including her. Why buy in a flood zone area and bad health care
We've been watching for years. Our fourth Villages visit is coming up in November to hopefully pick a floor plan for our plan to new build at Eastport. Can't wait :)
See you when you get here!

@@rosemarybanner Thank you Rosemary!
Your so hip at your age and love your videos thank you!
Aww... thank you, Teresa!
Thanks, glad to hear that the storm missed you.
I have that exact Midland weather radio. I purchased mine through Amazon.
One of the things to consider. When we bought our new cart in Feb. we were going to do the flip down rear facing seat. Good point!
The weather radio is a all hazards network. Great to have most important to have it set for your area
True.
Does the weather radio have batteries in case power goes out? Great show as always, I've caught up now! Well I still have to watch the live streamed shows but I'll leave that for another day. All the best!
Love that you handle sweet and salty comments in your show! The gators these days start getting lazy these days, as Linda said... You guys are great.
Thank you, Mike!
You two just make my day, thanks so much for all the fun, and LOVE the bloopers at the end! xoxoxoxo
❤❤❤❤❤
Great job!
Thanks!
Great show !!! So excited , we got the lot we have been waiting on last week ! So looks like we will be in the villages no later then this time next year!
Congratulations!
Thank you. We are super excited
Another great video. Loved the bloopers. 😂 Got the puzzle. 😀
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Hello from Dominican Republic. Just tuned in, Ybull, you are world wide
Love how the gator paused as if to say "Haa haa! Got your fish!" 😅
I just love your pet of the week! Bay city is in my home state. I appreciate the “extra work” people do when taking a video of their pet.
Thank you so much!
Great show. Coming for our 3rd visit next week.
Have fun!
Love the Bloopers! Classic Jerry & Linda 🤗
Thanks again, friends!
You tried to fool us but I stayed till the end and saw the bloopers. Lol, thanks for another great show.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great MBM. Love the animated question. Very cool
Glad you enjoyed it!
So glad you both are safe
So glad y’all did ok with the hurricane. Thanks for another great show. Loved the bubble wrap, I need one of those weather radios too.
Thanks for watching, Brenda!
You do need one. It could save your life.
@@tvman8 just ordered it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Great show especially the Gator video of Gus and Pet of the Week. Thank u both for all of ur work. Happy Monday. 🥰

Thanks for your efforts J&L

Thank you Albert! You are always so nice.
Fun to hear our names for Piesanos dinner night.🥰 The gator photos in slow motion were concerning!
It’s been 4 years since I first found you, and continue to enjoy your videos….😊

Thank you guys. Loved the show today.
Appreciate your channel... Keep up the Good work on villages & Florida!! Thanks

Great show!! Super informative as always, thank you!! 😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it, Lisa!
Great show today you guys are so funny! 😂 Love the bloopers see you Wednesday
Great show. I love the new intro things you’ve added like for sweet and salty.
Glad you like it.
I think If I paid 11K a year in taxes on my home, I must be rich and do not care where I live!!!!!
I live near the area. It’s a “very well to do” area.
I loved seeing the repeating numbers (2) on your Havana CC receipt! I am so ready to see you when I get there…but I have some years before then!
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Hooray! Great show!
Thanks Judy!

Great show! I believe NH sent trucks south for the storms as well. So sad. Glad TV was safe.
Oh my gosh that gator was fast!
“Is that the way you want your hair?” Funny Jerry!
Very Good
Great show! The gater water footage was interesting those critters can move fast. No little dogs and kitties on the bank. Glad you all got through the storm alright. The pet of the week doggy was awesome. What a happy family and pup. Thank you for bringing us such entertaining content 😊

Misses you two. 👍🏽
Hello Jerry and Linda love watching your show you are so uplifting and very positive. I wanted to chime in on two questions that was asked of you on this episode. So glad you weren't affected by Helene. You are fortunate.
Good Morning Jerry and Linda. I so look forward to your videos. Linda, I love the shirt you had on at the restaurant, very pretty. Have a great day 😁
We had two weather radios but they never worked well it would alarm for other areas not ours lol
You need a new weather radio that you can set. 😮
That gator seems to be saying “thank you “ as he is backing into the water. 😁👍
I think so too!
Go Irish! Are you planning on doing live shows every Wed @7pm? I am compiling questions for a call in.
Maybe not every Wednesday, but we plan to do quite a few of them.
P.S. those pink shirts look great on you both.

The pink is my favorite color.
Hi Jerry and Linda! Please do a live from Brownwood square with a live audience one afternoon. I know lots of us would love to attend!!❤
Stay tuned!
Love your Monday show. Miss your Thursday show. The Wednesday live is too confusing with all the comments, etc. Love what you do - thank you.

Millionaire equals a net worth over 1 million
Say 700k in retirement and a house worth 400k and you’re a millionaire
Has nothing to do with income
I used to work at Midland! As a matter of fact, met my spouse there.😊 They've been around a long time -- were big during the CB radio craze.
Are there any "hip" places to go to in TV? Groovy!

Thank you Cydney we always appreciate your comments
Many thanks for sharing your lives with us, I sincerely enjoy watching and listening 💕
Have a delightful fun filled week!!!
Love from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you, Tina!
Got It!
Good morning folks great to see you again today. We have a evolution brand 4 forward facing and it's 114 and a half inches long. $14k
Thank you. We priced Yamaha.
If you're married and both had good jobs with good pensions or 401K's you'll be on easy street at the Villages.
I think 4,000 for property taxes is high. Unless you came from NY or NJ THEN you can say they are cheap taxes. Those folks got a raise moving there.
Thank you.
Pensions are great but in some ways a 401 is better your heirs get to keep it when you die. Also I took a withdrawal to pay cash for my first Florida vacation home
