As a widow with experience in being dumped by couples, I encourage you to continue seeing your friend and including her in your life. My husband and I always included our single friends and they were the most fun and happy to be included.
I agree keep your friends that have lost their spouses in your life. My husband’s best friend of 30 yrs passed away unexpectedly, his wife was also my husband’s friend. When he passed, she felt like a third wheel. She felt sad to be around us, I think we reminded her too much of all the good times. She told us she had to reinvent herself and find her new friends. We miss her terribly but we know she’s happy.
My dad passed last March. She and my dad were best friends, did everything together. She too felt like a third wheel in their old card group. Unfortunately, many ladies in our small community have lost their husbands and my mom ( I’m so proud of her) has reached out to those women and invited them to lunch or offered a shoulder. Sadly, their group is growing but they are finding comfort in one another’s company. I imagine being able to share their loss with someone who truly understands what each is going through is helpful moving forward. She does occasionally see her couple friends but I see her slowly creating a group of her own.
.
Having been divorced you often feel out of place with your married friends.
However there are 2 sides to every truth. Those couples either learn to be sure you are comfortable with them while they feel uneasy or lose to dear friends at the same time. I believe in these circumstances we need to feel uncomfortable for a bit to assist our friend in grief. By doing extra for him or her while they grieve then they gradually are comfortable enough to stay in the fold.. I sense we often think of ourselves before the one who has been grief stricken or wounded. Because we are reminded of our immortality or of the difficulties life can bring. I may be wrong 🤔 yet perhaps not. 🩵🤷♀️💞😕
That’s the best advice.. make friends, give your heart away to people. That’s how you truly make it home.
My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your friend Al. I'm glad you have such good memories of fun times together, as those are so helpful when you are grieving. Reminds me to be grateful for good friends as they are a blessing in our lives.
Love Gizmo's little tush to the camera in the blooper section. Gizmo is a sweetheart no matter which end he presents!!!
So sorry about your friend, AL. One of the hardest things about getting older is losing friends and family.
When I retired from my real job, I worked at a golf course. Rarely did I find a cigarette or cigar left on the greens, our pet peeve was sunflower seeds.
Love your videos.
My husband retired in January as a bridge inspector for AZ DOT. Most of the time he did not close bridges to inspect. He had to brave the traffic. We are sorry for your friend. Sending condolences.
My favorite rec center is Eisenhower. I attend my quilt chapter there and also have been told that it's more of a museum than a rec center. That seems true.
Thank you Jerry & Linda. I so appreciate you two, especially on a Monday!❤❤❤
I think it's a GREAT idea to go to every Rec Center. Rate them all and let us know your top 5. DO IT
Oh my! My husband and I never laughed so hard. Your reenactment of what to do in case of tornado was spot on! But also sooooo hilarious. What great videos. You never disappoint!
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
So very sorry for your loss. It’s hard to lose friends. I Will remember all who knew him in my prayers 💜💜💜
I certainly can see you're both happy being owners in The Villages but I can't imagine leaving my family, Church family, friends, my garden, Lodge Brother's and Sister's and Community Service group I've been involved with for 40 + year's. However, you're both great Ambassadors for people looking for a change. Wishing you both good health. Cheers
The "forever home" question is one of the surprises I learned about the Villages which no one mentioned originally. I learned that few folks "die" in the villages. Instead most folks sell as they become less mobile, or a surviving spouse sells shortly after their loss. That makes the Villages a transition Home where most folks keep one eye on returning to, or settling near surviving family.
However, that also make for a great fun place for Seniors to play and invite their families for vacations and outings.
Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((kv
Love that you dedicated your show to Al. He was such a kind gentleman who is missed.
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Love to hear all you've been doing! Livin' the good life. Great show! ❤
Great show! Love you guys!!😃
I just love you two and your zest for life! Keep on doing what you're doing!
You two make my week every Monday I watch you. Thank You!
My condolences to your friend. Another great show, thank you! The tornado reenactment video was hilarious.
Not to be critical. Have anyone considered sun city center. Been here 20 years a found to be less expensive than the villages. Only 20k people here.
Aww, so sorry for the loss of your friend. Thoughts and prayers sent to you and his family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Great show this week, thanks for sharing the photo I sent in! And condolences on the loss of your friend Al
Loved seeing you and your twin sister,Linda!
LOL! Loved the falling off the chair bit.
Another great video! Don’t forget to mention The Enrichment Academy. If someone wants a beginner class in just about anything they can sign up through the Academy. You are guaranteed a spot! Lots and lots of different classes offered. Yes, it costs a bit but well worth it. We teach dance on Sunday at Okahumpka, beautiful Rec center, and we encourage our class students to make friends in class. It’s another great way to meet people with the same interests!
you three are always fun to watch.
Thanks for another great MBM show. So sorry for the loss of your friend.
See you next time😘
So sorry for your lose. Another great show!
So glad you were able to work with Custom Apparel on the T-shirts! Nice to have a local spot! 👍
Thank you for sharing another outstanding show.
Wonderful show. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It's a reminder for each of us to enjoy life and not take things so seriously because life can be over in the blink of an eye.
So sorry about the loss of your friend. I always look forward to your videos!
I am cracking up right now - Gizmo’s makeshift helmet just hilarious.😂
That was so funny when you did the tornado drill reenactment😁
So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend
When I retired, I had a staff meeting at the firm and told the staff “I’ve imparted a lot of knowledge on you, but the most important knowledge I can impart on you is ‘Life is short. I was in your shoes yesterday. You’ll be here tomorrow. Never forget that. Ever.’ In a very short time, this will be a long time ago.
There is a shopping cart theory that says if you don’t take the shopping cart back, you are incapable of self-governing and are detrimental to society. Think about that.
Another great video! I will watch you two where ever you lived! Thanks for all you do!
Awesome! Thank you Ms. Osei! ♥♥♥
Omgosh...I love the Tornado Drill...Yes...go to an interior room..great advice...
I'm so sorry for your loss. 🙏🏻❤ Praying for Al's friends and loved ones.
My favorite rec center is the Eisenhower Regional Recreation Center. It’s fascinating to see all the military displays
Congrats Linda on that hole-in-1! You should get a t- shirt with that achievement!
so sorry for your loss Jerry & Linda. Friends are special
Fun video! Thanks you two!
Glad you enjoyed it!
🍃🌹🍃 in honor of your friend Al so glad God allowed your paths to cross sound like a wonderful friend
Love Gizmo's tornado headgear.
So sorry to hear about your friend Al. My condolences from Alabama.😢
Gator photo - from Swamp Fever Airboat Adventures on Lake Panasofkee FL. We did that ride last Thursday. Great fun!
Your smiles and laughter are contagious. Thank you for spreading the joy. ❤
You are so kind.
Condolences on the loss of your friend Al.
You guys have a great show and the both of you are such a sweet and adorable couple! Love your new shirts and glad Gizmo is on them too!
Aww. God bless Al. And wow Linda you had a stroke - wow . Well you recovered nicely. Love you guys and your positive outlook. ❤️❤️🎉🎉
Another great show.
Thank you
Til next time
J.R. ✌️😎✌️
Glad you enjoyed it.
Another excellent show! Your community looks like so much fun! Love from Port St Lucie ❤️.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for answering my questions! I’ll be closest to Seabreeze - in 2 weeks!! Can’t wait. Great tornado plan! Hope you never need it. So sorry for the loss of your friend. That is a hard part of 55+ living, but I still think it would be our choice. Hope to meet you soon - when we get there!
So sorry for your loss.
You both surprize me so much on these shows cause I never know what your gonna do on here. The Tornado Drill was too cute and actually I felt safe in watching it….funny huh.😂❤
God Bless. Happy MBM. ✌
Gismo out did hisself today. Love you guys❤
My house was built with large concrete slabs instead of concrete block. I hope it will hold up in either a tornado or hurricane. My master bath has no windows and so that is where I would go in case of an emergency. My bigger concern is the high power lines that are pretty close. Love Gizmo's jokes especially the pointless one.
Well, I was just watching this video and my face popped up on the screen!!! What a wonderful surprise!! I was the one who toured the Kennedy Space Center and met the astronaut. I shared my 1 minute or fame with my friends and family!! Thank you for all you do!! Looking forward to the cruise in Jan!! Kay
Saw my brother over Easter, The Peter Bernards are still deciding on if The Villages are for them. And Jerry, you are right, that flight to New Zealand is no joke!
I couldn’t tell where things were going regarding Jerry’s Mom but that was a great story. What a gift that the smoking just disappeared after all those years!
My sympathies to Al’s family and friends. Meeting these friends means many things we love about your shows.
I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, Al. It’s so hard to lose friends and people you love. Lake Okahumpka Rec Center is gorgeous!
Crystal Gayle was my first record ever in the early 70's cool you got to see her in concert
I agree with you Linda, when an Open House (Life) gives you lemons, gather them up and gift some to your neighbors 😊
Loved the video! Tornado drill was realistic and a little lighthearted, which is good. Thank you.
Thank you!!!
Hi from KY ❤ Love you two. So sweet and give great advice. So sorry your good friend passed. The Villages sound so fun!!
Thanks so much, Barbara!
Life is too short for those salty people, give me sweet always😍Our condolences & prayers for Al’s wife & family🙏🙏🙏Good friends add to your life and leave a huge hole in yours when they depart😇 We value ours and we make sure they know it💞💞Great tornado infomercial🤩🤩Love the headgear, especially sweet Gizmo’s😀😉Great episode‼️
You two cracked us up with the storm plan video!!!! The bowl on Gizmo’s head took the cake!!! 😂😂😂😂
😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sorry about your friend Al. Looks like Brad was holding the alligator at Swamp Fever airboats. We were able to do the same when I took my family there. Loved your example of getting ready for a hurricane. I laughed out loud, especially when Jerry tried to get out of the chair! 😂
Thank you Kate! We appreciate it.
Hi Jerry & Linda from a fellow Hoosier still up in the Indy suburbs! I'm a 43 year old widow of an IFD firefighter, and have concluded through my research that Florida will be where I retire due to the tax advantages. I've been considering TV for a few weeks now and I'm delighted to have found your channel! I'm aware that I'm still too "young" for the community but you've convinced me that I'll have plenty to enjoy once I reach my Villages age. I sure hope that everyone is as personable and charming as you both. Love the videos and happily subscribed to catch them all. Thanks for keeping me informed and entertained (the storm shelter bit was fantastic!).
Whaaat!? I thought for sure Jerry was going to say DO bring things you treasure, like an arrowhead collection 😉 just kidding Jerry. I'll quit giving you a hard time about it 😊 Love the video!
Regarding Putting back the shopping carts, we taught our three children to consider the preciousness of others and that there’s always someone behind us and that would not like to see littering, including golf carts all over a parking lot. In fact, my sons first job was picking up the carts at a local supermarket in New Jersey. Lol.
Bill, luckily, Most people here seem to have your mindset.
So sorry about Al...... I heard a Preacher once say the person that has gone on is no longer in your present, but they now in your future! That was just so comforting to think on for people we love! Your channel is one I look forward to!
Speaking of golf cart boots, You should see what they have to deal with in the Sun City/Sun City West (AZ) area. Every cart either has a boot or a chain that wraps around the steering wheel and frame. Theft is a huge problem and a deal breaker for me.
Hi guys…condolences for the loss of your friend. Really liked the ‘emergency enactment’ - that was fun to watch 😝. We’ll be down to TV in a couple weeks…can’t wait! ⛳️🌴🍋
Thank you so much 😁 See you when you get here!
I love this show! Gizmo is adorable
I’m very sorry to hear about your friend and fan !!! God speed
Glad you got to spend quality time with your friend you lost, Happy memories together.
Linda I would have been upset at the hair salon too No joke going through that 3 times!
Funny bloopers, Thanks for what you do Jerry and Linda and our star of the show Gizmo, You make it all look so easy.😊
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Enjoy the show folks don,t know if we,ll ever come down to live in The Villiages, but we gotta say it,s nice to hear about life in the cocoon and see normal and happy people like YOU FOLKS! Hi from Vermont! We saw Gary Lewis and Rocky and Rollers on Oasis of seas rock & roll cruise and it was a great show! Lucky you guyz for having them there in your area!
Oh...forgot to say hi to Gizmo!😊😊😊
Loved the Tornado drill!
😁😁😁😁😁
Linda you and Gerry are soooooo funny. I love your show. It is so entertaining and informative. Thank you
Glad you like them, Patricia!
Jerry & Linda: We like your straight-forward approach in your videos---you seem like honest people whose opinions we can all value. My wife and I are about your age (but older); our health circumstances are such that we will never be able to leave Minnesota. We hope you will live long and enjoy your lives in The Villages.
What a nice thing to say, Wally. We really appreciate you watching. We know good people come from Minnesota!
Enjoyment like always. Both exciting and sad. Just like real life! Thanks for sharing especially Gizmo - both good and bad side 😊
Our pleasure, Rebecca!
That’s my era of music too. Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Frankie Valli and Four Seasons. Those concerts sound awesome. So sorry to hear of your friends passing. Prayers for his friends and family. .
Loved that song too. What the World needs Now…
Thanks for your great positive and informative show!
❤❤❤❤❤
I love the idea of the helmets, thanks
You guys really committed to that emergency drill!🤣
It was just myself watching for awhile. My wife watched you guys a couple of weeks ago now we both are hooked. Can’t wait for our lifestyle visit next year.
Well, thank you both! That is nice to hear. See you when you get here!
I got to play golf today with your good friend Mike from Marsh Bend. Great guy!!!
He is a fine fellow!
So sorry on the passing of your friend Al.
Thanks!
Thank you Denice! So kind of you. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love watching you two😅😊
Thanks, Wendye!😁😁😁
So sorry about your friend 😢 my condolences to his wife and all his family and friends .
The shelter gag reel was hilarious, is that the way you get off the recliner!?😂.
You guys are the best!!❤
Only in emergencies! 😆
My mom got stuck in her recliner during a power outage. Then when a technician came out when it needed to be repaired, he said she didn't have any batteries in it. What? It's an electric chair! Turns out there is a battery pack for these types of situations when the power goes out. The sales person never explained this and I guess we never read the instructions! Maybe they all have it now.
So sorry for your loss. Have you been to the First Responders Rec Center? We spent a lot of time looking at all displays there. We have to explore more of them next year. Love your show!
Not yet! We will though. Thanks, Joy.
Jerry, please listen to your Dear Wife and consider doing some videos of Linda (and you, too) giving us a tour and review of your fav rec centers!
It has been so much fun to see the progression in your skills, as a couple, since you began during Covid. Now you are 'old hands'!
Thank you, Amy.
Where do I start? I am a single, 77 year old female living in the Sierra Foothills of CA for the past 23 years on a six-acre horse property. Yes, I have been a horse crazy girl/lady my entire life. My dear younger sister and her hubby have lived happily in the VIllages for 7+- years, so I have visited and enjoyed every visit. Now tired of cleaning up after six horses and planning a move to Florida. Even shipped one of my horses on ahead of me to a lovely 40-acre stable in Trenton. If I could afford a horse property in the VIllages, I would definitely consider it! I really enjoy your vlogs and can't wait to be a Floridian!
See you when you get here!
Hello Jerry and Linda from Washington State-watch you all the time and love the show! The dream is to someday move there…🤗
See you when you get here!
