SCP-847 - The Mannequin : Object Class - Euclid : Autonomous SCP
Item #: SCP-847
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-847 is to be kept in a reinforced modified humanoid containment chamber. For the purpose of ongoing behavioral studies, the room is to be fully furnished with a bed, dresser, couch, table, chair, full-length mirror, sink, shower, and toilet. The floor of the chamber is to be constructed with 1-cm exposed beams of copper, which can be electrified remotely to a minimum 50 kV potential. A 50-cm squared "safe zone" at the rear right corner of the containment chamber is to remain free of copper beams in the case of personnel inside containment during disabling of SCP-847. No meals are to be provided.

I'd actually be curious if having a long cycle of positive male interactions with researchers, no abuse or insults, just doing things like combing its "hair", polishing it, and in general speaking kindly - but not creepily - to it would have any interesting impacts on its relayed messages or its shattering episodes.

Let's attribute a human mind to it (not calling it female, don't see them as one when they act like a thing). Those actions can help to an extent, trying to convince one that they can be valued beyond physicality, though one can see them as proving the individual right (their appearance is what is being focused on), thus reinforcing the behaviour. The human mind has a very powerful elasticity to it - once a mindset is planted, it'll be almost impossible to remove (think going on a walk with your dog at a set time or drug addiction- very habit forming). This thing will probably assume that the people "helping" it will just be the ones that own it for the time being, even if they don't treat it badly.
It clearly isn't mentally developed enough to perform any different actions, so it'd likely just stay in the cycle of staying still when those specific people are around. Another issue is it forming an emotional dependancy for those who frequent it, making the situation even worse and possibly putting it on suicide watch like they do with 706.
I'm hardly a psychiatrist, but hope this Uni degree I'm doing is good for something.
Plus, what about interactions with SCP 999? Maybe to make it feel better about itself?
@Robbie James Don't think that'd work, since it doesn't have a human mind. Even if it helped, look at what happened with 682; these things are not to interact with one another. Plus there's always the possibility that 847'd either try to melt itself or 999 would be afraid of coming near it.

I think your on to something but I think its more, 847 might used to be living women. Wanting male companionship. Thinking it could be someone's perfect woman because it can "change", thinking why wouldn't someone want her? But no one ever actually wanting her which slowly turns into desperation and pyshcosis and perhaps not even realizing she is in fact a mannequin and why flesh and blood human men dont want her.

Read the “what happened to site 13” story, the ethics committee might seem like a joke for something like the SCP foundation at first but the foundation would be wayyyyyy more terrifying and worse for wear as a concept without them
What's so funny about them having an ethics commity? They're the reason the Foundation conscripts Death Row inmates as D-Class, rather than a random guy who wants a job (e.g, those public paid tests you see on papers). Also the reason why some SCPs are even given luxuries, and in some cases mental/physical therapies.

A lot of the SCP’s are humanoid like creatures, will affect only or primarily humans, are items created by humans, or will have human-like attributes. I know that these are fictional SCP’s, but assuming these were real, I have a hypothesis that one human individual or group is responsible for a large percentage of the SCP’s.
I am sure of them were as well. I know the dog one, the nerf gun , the plaque doctor (he was an untrained doctor and became immortal somehow), and more created by the same person as the nerf gun
There are several groups within canon that are behind many scps, like Doctor Wondertainment Inc (which does most of the toy or child aimed SCPs), Anderson Robotics (most of the AI and cibernetic SCPs), AWCY (an artist sindicate dedicated to creating artistic anomalies and art based SCPs), The Church of the Broken God and The Factory
See SCP-001 - The Foundation created almost all of the SCP's. Intentionally.

If you were to honestly *believe* that its looks don't matter, and that's it's beautiful just for being an emotional and thinking being, would you be able to make it form itself into its own idea of beauty?
If you were able to convince it that what others say about it doesn't matter because beauty is subjective, could you technically convince this being into finding a permanent shape?
If you were to revisit her time and time again, convincing her that she was always as beautiful no matter how she looked, would that have an effect.

This one is less creepy to me than it is sad. The messages at the end make me believe that this poor, clearly sentient being really just yearns for love and connection. So twisted by the objectifying values of the heartless men she's interacted with, she will do anything and everything in her power to make herself as attractive as she can to hopefully find her "prince"
Being mostly inanimate, her unending solitude drives her jealousy and vanity, not for their own sake but simply just as a desperate attempt to find someone who will stay with her, to give her value.

Watching this completely built up an intense story to think about, but then I hear volgun say "slump god" and it completely broke the effect and now I am just chuckling to myself
847 is a good metaphor for sexual abufr victims (particularly trafficking victims)
The lack of identity, the desire to please their abusers, the fear, the passiveness in her own abuse due to years of enslavement, the act of self harm afterwards likely due to severe internalized self hate.
847 was definitely a human victim, who somehow morphed into this.
I see a lot of comments confused why 847 is aggressive towards women, but abusers will manipulate and morph their victims into believing anyone but them is the enemy. There's also a lot of jealousy and self hatred in the act of 847 attacking women. 847 likely sees the freedom she desires in other women, and hates it because she cannot have it. Her only hope is becoming 'better' for her abusers, prettier, dumber, skinnier, anything to please them in hopes they'll be kinder to her.
847 deserves compassion. She isn't evil, but some of the d class personnel they've exposed her to? They're the evil ones.
This is why I love SCPs, most are crap, but there is the occasional gem that hits the human condition right on the head.
As if the "I Feel Fantastic" video wasn't creepy enough already.
