Congrats! Nice vibe, music, and good balance of Chris fixing, Cleocat "working" on a night shift, and you being amazed, taking us all viewers along with for 3 days adventure. So important to know your boat well, immediately having to fix one autopilot, one engine leak and one ripped sail... Well done!
It is official - you are now a tangible sailing channel! Yay! Looking forward to your next episode. :At 7:59 as you sail past Big Sur, I see the bridge that about 50 years ago I took a picture of from the the cliff on the port side looking East, I have that picture somewhere. Thanks for this very special memory! :¬) Webhead USA
Congrats on getting through 4 years of boat work, you must be relieved and so am I lol 😅. Although it seems there might be still be some boat jobs every now and then by the looks of it😄 But that's boating for you. Here is to many more adventures on Avocet for all three of you (counting Cleo too off course 😉).
We never believe the weather forecasts, but we are in the UK where 5 types of weather in one day is normal. I thought California would be more predictable 😄Congrats on starting your cruise 👍
What Can I say… Loved it, just LOVED it…!! We wished it was longer than 3 1/2 minutes though. At least that’s what it seemed like to us, hahaha 🤣😂 Could Anymore have gone wrong on your first trip though🤷🏻♂️ Oh, wait, yes it could of. Good seeing Cleo out on deck.!! When you were going under the SFO Bay bridge I was singing, “ride captain ride” by blues image, if you haven’t heard it you should, a good old song from the late 60s and their most popular before the head guy left to form Iron Butterfly 🦋… 😎
Drafts/draws… both are applicable and relatively interchangeable. Working in the marina office both were common. “Draft, beam, length” was a prerequisite question for boaters before I could assign them a berth.
Love the sailboat but Califrianstan has such a horrible reputation now.. so sad. Use to like that place but went back recently and found it to be leftest hellscape of poverty, homelessness, open drug addiction. Like the worst parts of Mexico - maybe worse actually. Ruined is the only word I could think of. Will never step foot back their again. Good for you for getting out. I made sure to let my young Niece and Nephew see the lesson of what far left communism does to a place. They were horrified - we left that night forever.
Sorry you feel that way. We are both born and raised Californians and understand there are some icky places to avoid just like in any state. But the fact we have the ocean and mountains all close to each other is worth loving this state for its beauty - politics aside. The bay area itself is definitely not the gem we remember it to be, but we found pockets of magic that reminded us of our childhood sailing here. Cheers 🤙
@@sailingavocet ...fair enough... I gather that You grew up there. Everyone has the right to their memories, fond memories, of their hometown. No argument with that or you.
We motored for approx 40 hours - last time we filled up it was about $4.35/gallon so… $160+ ish? Not awful but we are stoked we got to sail a good chunk of it.
Congratulations!!!!! You have been working very hard for this, enjoy the sea!
wait how are you guys commenting shouldn't you be somewhere in the deep south of Uruguay🤙

Thanks Martin!
Thanks for the preview. Did you meet up with Salt and Tar? They just traveled through the area but were heading south.
We didn’t stop at all, they are in Morro Bay :) we know his brother Reid from up in the bay!

HA! Predictable? Sailing? Can two things exist at the once?

Glad you loved it! More on the way soon
You both have done an incredible job of transforming this boat! If possible could you do a quick video on your Starlink setup and performance?
We were just talking about doing that!
♥️♥️🥰🥰
Thanks for watching!
Love the channels.
To be linguistically shipshape, try SHE DRAWS 5’ instead of SHE DRAFTS
Drafts/draws… both are applicable and relatively interchangeable. Working in the marina office both were common. “Draft, beam, length” was a prerequisite question for boaters before I could assign them a berth.
Kyle says "stop ripping your main sail"
I'm not sure what that means
😂
Where are the fishing lines off the back? That cat is ready for some fresh tuna.
She doesn’t like fish, which is good because ironically we don’t either haha! The ocean is safe

Awesome guys!! Congratulations!! Hard work finally paying off 🍻👍🏻
Where are you guys at now?
Morro Bay :)
million dollar question, how much did you spend on fuel from Ventura to S.F.
