@@WalkerFarmFam - You're very welcome! I only speak the truth. My husband has begun speaking of doing quail which I am completely open for with one exception, I have a very real problem touching a dead bird or even an old bird's nest. I am just fine when the outter layer is off. So, I sent him this video. Told him to what part in the process he would be responsible for and what I'd be willing to be part of and if he still wants to do quail, then we are well on our way.
psst...I've waited nearly 3 years for him to catch on. It took the food shortages to bring him around; considering chicken is his favorite meat. 😉🤣

Hey Cassie, nice video on how to process quails stuff like that doesn't bother me I find it very interesting on how to process animals for eating. My mom grew up on a farm 8 sisters and brothers everyone had a job including the dog lol and she told me how they would process the animals for eating. Granddaddy would butcher the hogs and put them in the smokehouse and back then nothing went to waste. So whats next for WFF keep up the good work and see you in the next video🤔😊😉

My parents raised quail and one afternoon they received a call from the local college that they were having a special dinner for dignitaries. They ordered 600 to be ready in 3 hours. They worked so hard but had them all dressed in time. Also, quail eggs make the best pickled eggs!

I noticed while researching some people pluck and some people skin. Personal preference I guess.

This is our first time raising quail. So far they are doing well in the Oklahoma heat. There wasn’t really much smell since I skinned them instead of plucking them. Clean up was just figuring out what we wanted to do with all the feathers, feet and guts.

Chris Spaulding Oh sorry. We had them in the shop for a few weeks but once they got bigger their pooped smelled pretty bad if not cleaned daily. It’s much better outside in the open! They don’t smell at all but their poop is pretty stinky.
