I love that you videoed your first time harvesting quail. Makes it seem very doable. We just hatched our first batch of quail and are excited to watch them grow.
Thought: Use a large plant starter tray to put the dirt in for the quail. 🤔 Girl, you did a great job! I am absolutely rating this one as the best quail processing video I've ever seen! I've watched tons of them, but your method of presentation was to absolute clearest explanation I've seen to date. Thank you so much!
Paulla Wells Awwwwww Paulla thanks so much! That means a lot. I really debated putting this video up cause you never know what people might think. I appreciate the kind words! Quail will forever have a place on our farm. We enjoy raising them and they feed our family well. The tray is a great idea!
@@WalkerFarmFam - You're very welcome! I only speak the truth. My husband has begun speaking of doing quail which I am completely open for with one exception, I have a very real problem touching a dead bird or even an old bird's nest. I am just fine when the outter layer is off. So, I sent him this video. Told him to what part in the process he would be responsible for and what I'd be willing to be part of and if he still wants to do quail, then we are well on our way. psst...I've waited nearly 3 years for him to catch on. It took the food shortages to bring him around; considering chicken is his favorite meat. 😉🤣
Hey Cassie, nice video on how to process quails stuff like that doesn't bother me I find it very interesting on how to process animals for eating. My mom grew up on a farm 8 sisters and brothers everyone had a job including the dog lol and she told me how they would process the animals for eating. Granddaddy would butcher the hogs and put them in the smokehouse and back then nothing went to waste. So whats next for WFF keep up the good work and see you in the next video🤔😊😉

My parents raised quail and one afternoon they received a call from the local college that they were having a special dinner for dignitaries. They ordered 600 to be ready in 3 hours. They worked so hard but had them all dressed in time. Also, quail eggs make the best pickled eggs!
Walker Farm Fam me too! Try making pickle eggs with them. We put them in nice jars and gave as gifts. You only need to boil for 2-3 min crack them and then put in cold water. This helps the she’ll come off. Great conversation piece too! Enjoy
Nice presentation of processing the quails Cassie. Yes practice makes perfect. I've never had quail. I live in the city and I don't believe they have them in grocery stores. Yes, next time we cook some we will video 👍🏻 We were very blessed to adopt Ransom and fell in love with his biological name 💙 We aren’t sure where it came from though.

If you are going to breed quail for a meat source, you're gonna have to separate your birds. 1 male with 4-5 females. Not good to have a bunch of breeding birds in a single cage, that's when you get the injured birds from fighting.
