Within the first week of this game's release in 1995, my dad and I went to the store and bought this game. I've been a dedicated fan of the franchise ever since. These games are so addictive, fun and entertaining. Long live Command & Conquer!
Oh man! this brings back memories.. I remember running down to the local retail store buying this back in '95. It blew my mind with the cool music, gameplay and storyline.. Loved it!
Playing through this again now. That last level on the video I had the demo of as a kid. i'd build fences to stop the enemy, build a tonne of APCs filled with troops then send them in to swarm the enemy base. so good
I have probably never seen a game with the longevity this game has, I could play it now and still have a ton of fun, there are even games from like 2002 that are at a point they're almost unplayable outdated. C&C is and remains a unique experience. True classic.
When I was little I found a demo copy of this at all a dollar and fell in love. Then some years passed and I found it again and wanted to look for it. That was around when EA released the box set with RA2, Yuri's Revenge, Renegade, and Tiberium. Ah it was so much fun. I always felt like the older series were harder.
Oh man, this brings back so many great memories. Only come to think of it where the fuck did I put that game. Since watching this on youtube I've emptied out the attic and the basement!
Has anyone else noticed a lot of the screams used in this game are used time and time again in movies? Even Movies today, must be from the Logic sample database or something.
It's amazing how as soon as the level started the music started to play and I had a flashback which reminded me of the good times when it came to PC Strategy gaming. This game is gave me many hours of enjoyment.
Back when this game was released it was the greatest game EVER! My friend and I played it for hours. Plus the slick soundtrack kept it from becoming boring.
Agilancer I remember the tiberium stuff. Would it eventually grow back again? I forget. Unlike the stock piles in C & C Generals which one gone are gone
As a kid, I adored this game, personally this and Maybe Red Alert were by far the greatest C&C games, the screams, the squish when you ran over a guy, the music, the voice, the units...all brillant. I still remember always having to ask my Dad to help me complete the mission with the SAM sites, they always kicked my ass
Dude i just want you to know from the bottom of my heart that my search has ended. I have been searching for C&C for nearly 10 years!! All i did was frigging forget the game was called C&C! I'm so relieved right now, can't express!
This brings back so many memories :) I used to sit and watch my dad play this game on his windows 95 or 98 when I was a 3 or 4 year old and sometimes he would let me play :D
My best memory playing this game...I was playing the GDI side, and I had created a large sized force to try to storm my buddy's base. I got the warning for the incoming nuke, and I realized, he's going to hit my army with it, not my base. I move my entire force, the nuke only kills one normal soldier. My force runs right into his stealth tanks he had parked nearby, and the ion cannon took care of those, as he had them stacked in a 3x3 grid instead of spread out. Awesome memories:)
Same here ... my grandpa got it for his birthday but didn't want it back in '95. I gladly took it and my brother and I have been playing the series ever since.
this game was made in the fcking 90's xD still better than ANY C&C coming from EA. I always wondered (20 fucking years ago) why I could NOT use the humvee to knock that enemy infrantry down! xD
Too easy to kill infantry + i think the only shit C&C was the last two C&C 4 Tiberium Twilight and C&C Red Alert 3. C&C 4 because they shit up the story + gameplay and C&C3 because of the story.
One of the first game i ever played on PC and probably the best one.. The atmosphere that this game had was amazing, like the storyline and the scenes between missions were totally awesome..
OpenRA is really good, but the original Red Alert is more nostalgic and it just feels better. OpenRA is only really good for multiplayer, and for some reason, all of the players vanished... Am I in an older update, or something?
@@saiyanjohn9212 I updated the _original game_ to suit modern OSes, so I don't have to bother with OpenRA. Really, why bother taking the inferior remake if the original is just... there?
Nyerguds that is really cool! How did you manage to do that? Is the game really that easy to take apart and manipulate to your liking? And can you implement a skirmish mode in the original too? Sorry I just want to know.
I feel just so awesome when I think my first CNC was Red Alert 1 on PSX. It makes you feel... like you were growing up along with the series. Like it truly was a part of your childhood :')
this was my first strategy game of this kind of games, like starcraft, c&c red alert, dune i remember i met this game in my cousin´s house and I was surprised to play a game like this, with that music, sound effects, was a great game!
my dad was hesitant about letting me play this game because of the violence. i was 6/7 at the time i completed both campaigns and i remember running back and forward to tell my dad all the cool things that were happening. like how this "big giant tanks got 2 guns on it, And it shoots missiles, AND it can fix itself to half health" im now 20 and my mum still remebers Act on Instinct by heart, much to her distress. ;) best rts ever.
of all the c&c games i've played, the music that starts a level in this one is the best i've heard. the driving rock beat really sets the tone, gets your pulse pounding for the rest of the game!! high praises also for the opening song of RA.
my strategy for this game, i'd always set up a base and defend it with those kill box tower things and a few tanks, like the really big ones then i'd send out my strike team. when i played generals, that's how i did all the time. im glad they let us have comanchees in that game.
love the music and gameplay.this was the game of my youth.those were the times.*sigh* today games doesn't have " that " impact as the old ones, that's for sure...
C&C1 and RA1 remain the best Command & Conquer games. So simple, yet so difficult. Collectors are defenceless, resources are limited and require storage, there are no build queues, no support powers, no ways to generate more money, no limits on number of units, no mind control or other such gimmicks, no bulls**t.
:,) takes me back!!! I don't think any real C&C fan will ever forget that first level with that badass gunboat just tearin up the beaches! I know I won't! lol What a great game this was... Hours and hours at my computer with the dial up internet LOL
Can remember the day pretty well i played this game for the first time ! I was at my cousins place behind his computer and he always had this "best of select" CD's. He was gone and i was browsing one of these CD's which had this game as DEMO. I mean holy shit ! The Installation of this game is amazing ! I never seen something awsome even since now ! The Music by Frank Klepacki, Video's and the gameplay where mental for that time ! And when i got my new Compaq Pressario Desktop as a kid this was the first game I've bought for it. Still have both the PC and Game.. should make a Retro evening some time :D
omg..im about to cry, sooo nostalgic
R.I.P C&C
+Joseph Tinsay seriously

Acknowledged, moving out, construction complete!, Man i wish I have a time machine.......... THIS IS ART
The game, the sound, the music - this was so much fun!
Especially for the first ever CNC game it was so good
I still remember those amazing songs from this game.

THIS WAS THE GAME!!!
Reinforcements have arrived.. was always my favorite quote
My favourite quote:
"Kane lives!"

miss this game so much
Still a badass tune to play too.
Oh man, this brings back so many great memories. Only come to think of it where the fuck did I put that game. Since watching this on youtube I've emptied out the attic and the basement!
Sadik Meah You can probably pick it up on Ebay or something for not too much
Trent691
Thanks! Checking eBay now!
Started playing this when I was four or five. It was my favorite c&c of all. Nostalgia
"unable to comply... building in progress"-"unable to..."-"unable to..."
...HURRY UP, DAMMIT!
haha
haha I remember spamming the shit out of that till I could make more men or tanks. then immediately sending them off to go fight 😁
God, I miss those death screams.
this game is so 90s it's ridiculous! thank you for uploading this!
I miss playing this :(
You can get the entire Command and Conquer series (17 games I think?) for around $10 (USD) when it's on sale on Origin
Nero4983 I just bought that. So awesome.
I believe it's f2p since it's an oldie. You should be able to download it legally.
Nero4983 dose it work for windows xp or windows 7?:P
1112viggo I'm running Windows 8 and 7 on 2 different computers. Tested on both, they can run with compatibility mode fine.
*You knew it was going to be amazing just from the installation "process"*
the father of modern strategy games, the best!!!
But what about total annihilation?
PRAR Alexander Even though this game was before both of those?
@@seanmdpa You lose the fight. You can never beat a timeless badass game like Command and Conquer. Period.

That's scream when someone dies.... epic
Rather play this than 'Tiberium Twilight'.
Still a better C&C game.
Than Twilight.
Hahaha! I see what you did there. (Y)
JUICED OUT TV Took you a while.
Nah, I forgot to respond to it lol,
JUICED OUT TV I do that all the time.
Brought back many memories. I wish it could be re-released to run on modern Windows 10 equipment.
20 years today!
I still have this game myself and watching this makes me want to play it again after 3 years of it collecting dust
Has anyone else noticed a lot of the screams used in this game are used time and time again in movies? Even Movies today, must be from the Logic sample database or something.
yeah!! i never understood that haha
It's called the Wilhelm Scream, used in hundreds of movies
It's amazing how as soon as the level started the music started to play and I had a flashback which reminded me of the good times when it came to PC Strategy gaming.

i love how you can build human beings in this game
"Lungs go here, heart goes here, spine is attached to the brain.." Average GDI human construction engineer.

I love how you "build" humans in this game lol
Which means robots were used XD
And we can sell humans, if they are near walls.
( build sandbag, and get our units there and "sell" them!")
"Yeah-Ok-tech guy" we can get 5 coins :D
You construct a tank

Me too! Rivals is released
This was my first love! I still get a sense of excitement when I see this game. I was eleven years old with a 386.
omg this game gets so frickin hard i have never finished it
Trying the game the first time right now. The game is so freaking frustrating. Especially the NOD campaign. I wonder if the red alert one is easier.
not really
First game that made me fall in love with strategy game, westwood games will always be memorable
i play in 2016
