I played the N64 version. I loved the 3D textures, but the game had no speed options like the other versions. It took longer than I wanted it to be to play a game
This was my first C&C game and it was so awesome. When I wanted to own it, I bought the PC version and noticed the difference between the two. The music and the graphics. In the PC, they have more music than N64 but the graphics looked way cooler than the PC for the most of it. There are both versions of the same music for both the PC and N64, sometimes I like music from the N64 cuz' there are stuff I favor a lot of the pieces I notice when listening to the music. Both are very awesome!
Sure the graphics are better than the PC and Saturn versions, but what is a C&C game without cheesy bluescreen cut-scenes? Just isn't the same without the movies.
yeah i tried that after i posted that message, its a bit annoying because i had to d/l a control thing to allow me to use the mouse. its way too hard with the up down left right keys
lol Looking Glass managed to faithfully convert most of the original game and I think they did a pretty good job! From the design of all models down to the very notes of the soundtrack. What a fun job it must've been when you think about it. Imagine turning your favorite 2D retro game into 3D while deviating as little as possible from the source material. Sounds like a fanboy's dream come true.
@V0rtex500 All the emphasis on online gaming and multiplayer has ruined the magic games used to have. I miss the days of my childhood where you had to go over to a friends place to play together, and a max of four players for any game that had multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, games are still fun and all, it's just that it's not really magical like it used to be
@Choppr777 eher besorg ich dir die programme, wo du deine psx version selber konvertieren kannst.oder ich geb dir die eboot.z und meine firmware ist die gen D glaub ich..Mal scauen.. btw hast msn oder icq?
well, it's freeware... you can get it pretty much everywhere. And the unofficial 1.06 patch enhances gameplay a lot, and adds all of the previously console-exclusive missions to it ;)
The graphics are better but its not the same as the PC versions for a variety of reasons, the main reason was they had to cram the entire game into a cartrage for the N64 so they had to remove the movies and the music quality which takes up most of the space anyways. The original PC C&C was on 2 CD's at aprox 500mb's each vs the 50mb cartrage
This game looks way better for the N64 than for pc or ps1. I just got my xbox360 a week ago, the only reason i got it was to get COMMAND & CONQUER TIBERIUM WARS. Thats ONE BAD ASS GAME... for you C&C lovers , I highly recomend it=. its worth getting the360 for this game. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
In collectors point of view, yes. If you wanna own original copy of one of the first good strategy games, then buy it. If you want something for playing, i dont recommend it, there are much better games.
Because the music has changes it doen't give the same feeling as on PC. The original "Act On Instinct" sounded 1 billon times better. Still a great game!
@Choppr777 i like all the first C&C parts. right at the moment i play tiberium sun. My favourite one.. btw.. have all the ps1 parts.. and put retailation from red alert on my psp.
this game was awesome when it was brand new in terms of state of the art for a strategy game. Yet Westwood was quite off on the artillery part of the original game.
I prefer the PS1 version to be honest, it felt more complete with the FMV's. This is an area where I wish the N64 games were on CD's instead of cartridge. Especially since CD's had significantly higher storage capacity and I'm sure the games would have looked better if they just had 700mb to work with instead of 64mb of storage
I loved have this on N64. The gameplay graphics were much nicer and smoother though I have to say the pc version is better. Just the fact for nostaligia, in game briefings, the music is a bit different, and the some of the short animated vids.
i know some people r gonna hate me for this but the best RTS game ported to the n64 and was considered the mother of all modern RTS games is Starcraft and starcraft 64 was a great game sure no cutscenes or mission breifing talking is downputting but the in game sounds rock the only qualm i have with it was the horrible graphics but it was a collection of broodwar and original with the old maps and they even had an extra mission i wish i hadnt lost my cd key for the pc version STARCRAFT ROCKS C@C
yea man thats C&C 2 man thats why is with some better graphics but the best rts for n64 is Starcraft thats the best rts in the world and n64 has it;)) love it
the playstation version of this game was far superior i may be biased, considering i played that one first, and it was when i was young, giving this game a nostaligiac feel, but none the less, in my opinion the playstation version was better.
Still... this really looks like you did a terrible job configuring your P64 controls. (This IS recorded from Project 64, no?) Also, I doubt it was cancelled in Europe, since my nephew owned it, and I live in Belgium.
Yeah.. they had more space to work with. They had to cram a lot on the small N64 cartridge... that's why the music is also much worse quality (.midi). The graphics are definitely better though.
The first C&C I played, and it was on N64, God this brings back memories lol.
Childhood. :'3
imo i think the first cnc was the hardest but still my most favourite strategy games :) good job westwood
The original sound track were amazing!!!
Nostalgia, got to be one if not the best strategy game of the time damn..
I played the N64 version. I loved the 3D textures, but the game had no speed options like the other versions. It took longer than I wanted it to be to play a game

@marileus009: Renegade isn't C&C1. It's an FPS
how do grenades have better use than flame throwers? They can both clear garrisons and are good against infantry and ok against vehicles.
Sure the graphics are better than the PC and Saturn versions, but what is a C&C game without cheesy bluescreen cut-scenes? Just isn't the same without the movies.
hey do you have anymore of these walkthroughs for this game on the later levels? thats where i am stuck on
i havent played a game on my ps2 that i enjoied more than thys one its super fun.
i remember the good times when it was me and Crash Bandicoot, Goldeneye 64, Super Smash Bros, and Battle Tanx. And that was enough.

i used to love this freaking game ^_^ i think i still have it..........
this game is fun, i still play it sometimes
yeah i tried that after i posted that message, its a bit annoying because i had to d/l a control thing to allow me to use the mouse. its way too hard with the up down left right keys
my first time was with this game

C&C N64 FOREVER!!

@atalis1 I'm fairly sure C&C95 is the best one... especially after my "upgrades" :)
i never finished this game when i was a kid :(
what happens at the end or whatever,is there a video of it???
does anybody know where I can all the MIDi files for the music files? thanks.
Is it just me or is General Sheppard's voice sped up?
I miss this damn game!
@DJOmnimaga i think so, nintendo 64 was the first 3D console
this IS the original.
this is the very first C&C game, except i don't remember it having cutscenes...
at all

Lo que mas me gusto de este c&c fueron algunas de sus canciones. Que tiempos aquellos e.e
i like the music! =).. where can found the music? =)
i love The Act On Instinct of this version!!!
I started out on Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars. So I'm not quite sure what I missed out on. :(
really banjo kazooie isn't on there?
i'm surprised cause it was even rereleased on xboxlive
I like the PC one on First Decade more. I just love the 3 pixles tall people!
candidate for best game ever
I miss you in N64
anyone know how to pass mission 7 on EVA mode????
why was command & conquer 64 cancelled in Japan, Europe and Austrailia?
hey there is a cheat code for this game to view all levels on "replay mission" you can find it on any N64 cheat codes website
This was actually released in Australia. I have the cartridge right here :D
In collectors point of view, yes. If you wanna own original copy of one of the first good strategy games, then buy it. If you want something for playing, i dont recommend it, there are much better games.
Does anyone know where can I download this game or some game like this one??
omg that game was so epic :O
ahh, i remember this game
@survivalgun That's "Conker's Bad fur Day".
Because the music has changes it doen't give the same feeling as on PC.
The original "Act On Instinct" sounded 1 billon times better.
Still a great game!
for which game, for the N64 or the 360?
@Choppr777 i like all the first C&C parts. right at the moment i play tiberium sun. My favourite one.. btw.. have all the ps1 parts.. and put retailation from red alert on my psp.
@Choppr777 Ich denk du redest auch Deutsch? xD.. Btw.. umso älter die psp, umso leiuchter das Flaschen. ^^ Hab die ganz alte 1004.
We need a portation for the Virtual Console now - let's start Operation Tiberiumfall!!!
i play red alert and red alert retalion every day on my psp it so addicting
i´m proud of having a nintendo 64 :)
i thought this was the game with the killer drunken squirrel was that called then
this game was awesome when it was brand new in terms of state of the art for a strategy game. Yet Westwood was quite off on the artillery part of the original game.
this game is pure awesomenes on N64!!!
Classic. :)

@nyerguds yea but i like the ps1 version more than PC. I still have it for PC and ps1 :D
better then the PC version, the only advantage on pc is the mouse but the graphics and even gamelay is better i played them both but now only 64:)
I prefer the PS1 version to be honest, it felt more complete with the FMV's. This is an area where I wish the N64 games were on CD's instead of cartridge. @KebeckERS Command and conquer 1, Generals and Red Alert 2 Was the best :)
i really wish i hadent lost game this cause this kicked hippy ass
Heavy metal guitars while you blow the shit out of enemy strong points while taking over territory. Back when RTS was manly as fuck. Lol
Lol. A mouse cursor on the '64. Now I've seen everything.
the playstation version of this game was far superior
i may be biased, considering i played that one first, and it was when i was young, giving this game a nostaligiac feel, but none the less, in my opinion the playstation version was better.

Also, I doubt it was cancelled in Europe, since my nephew owned it, and I live in Belgium.
@V0rtex500 Don't forget Battlezone rise of the black doges
Reinforcements have arrived!
this game's 3d version is C&C renegade
Yeah.. they had more space to work with.
They had to cram a lot on the small N64 cartridge... that's why the music is also much worse quality (.midi).
The graphics are definitely better though.
Graphics looks good, it's true 3D, not like the PC version! Unfortunately there are no FMVs.
nope man, never played this one, but it's clearly 3d, the PS version was 2d (from what i can recall)
First 3D C&C!
for some reason this reminded me of army men
europe canceled?
i bought this game for the nintendo 64 when i was a lil kid!

The PC version still owns ALL consoles :P
Europe: Cancelled?
I got ROMs of the German and French versions...
