I appreciate your advice for “no blaming, no shaming “. Perhaps I’m showing my 80 years, but the rudeness and coarseness in our culture cannot be offset by anything one wears, not matter the style, color, tailoring, label or cost!
Kay, sorry to hear that you received some unkind comments. You deserve better your channel is nothing but positivity. The Lord blessing over you and your page.
Thanks so much. That is very kind. I certainly don’t mind women expressing different opinions than mine, but I just don’t understand why some people seem to think that they need to put others down in order to elevate themselves. Thanks so much for your support. 🥰
So true! I watch several UA-cam channels on “what’s in and what’s out “. I use them as a rough guideline for not looking like a little old lady! We all must remember these are only suggestions. I’m a firm believer in wearing what makes you feel comfortable.
When I turned 60, I didn't know how to dress anymore and where I fit in. Your blog and your videos have helped me so much! Thank you! I have tried to buy the best quality I can afford and use your ideas. The best thing for me is your idea of intensity. After that, it all started to work for me. I wasn't sure about the ankle or slightly cropped pants. But now I use them in the warmer weather months, since I don't like to wear shorts outside my home anymore. I am feeling more relevant. I appreciate you!
Yes, it's weird turning 60....50s, I just dressed as I did for 40... but 60, I reassessed my wardrobe,....I bought a few things and my husband said "You're not a granny! Stop it!!" (I am a grandmother, but quite youthful looking😂😂) I looked at myself again, and thought..yeah!! Stop it, trying to look old!! You don't have to look old.... like the lady doing this show, neat, stylish, a bit of colour, nothing too tight or too short (because nothing looks worse than mutton dressed as lamb!!!) And I've refreshed my wardrobe, removed the dull things I just bought, and some new pops of colour, and I'm happy with the overall look. Let's do 60!😊😊😊😊
I look forward to every Wednesday, thank you for your encouraging words regarding dressing for my day. I’m 73 and always looking to improving my style. Thank you
This past year I've decided that for me a "trending" translated to an opportunity to buy an item that I love and works for me at a time when there is more selection in the marketplace. By now, at age 64, I know what works and what I love. For example, for the past 16 years the most flattering style of jeans on me has been wide leg. They were big in 2008 and I bought two great versions that I've worn when I wanted a dressy jeans look. Now that they're trending again and all over the marketplace, in all the colors and price points, it means I can buy a new pair or two. Another example is that my signature color is blue, especially the shades of Caribbean and cobalt. This spring blue is flooding the market, and that means I can find a new top in the perfect color for me. But I always wear blue even when it's not trending.
Hi, Kay! I just want to say that I am so grateful to the Lord for you--for your personality, your graciousness, your wisdom and your encouragement. You keep doing what He wants you to do, the way He wants you to do it! We are blessed by you. God bless you!
Kay, I know you say skinny jeans are out. But here's my situation. For the last ten years I have been majorly overweight (size 14-16, 5' 7"). During the last year I dropped a substantion amount of weight so that I am now a size 4, sometimes a 2. I look and feel fabulous and I love showing off my new found figure in skinny jeans. My husband loves them on me and I see that retailers, Talbots, Banana Republic, Gap, to name a few, still carry a skinny jean. I know they're not the style but I feel so good about myself when wearing them that I will continue to eschew the current loose baggy and yes even supposed slim leg jeans. I love your advice but since you encourage us to dress what we feel comfortable in I will opt for the "untrendy" jeggings.
Most "slim" jeans fit like baggy jeans on me. If I want something to remotely fit my thighs I usually have to wear skinny jeans. I would prefer a modern skinny, that is a bit less skinny on the calves, but the ones I see are $220+, out of my price range. I might splurge and pay $80-$90 for one pair, if I could find them. No, Talbot's and GAP don't work on me.
Congrats on your weightloss, but size 14-16 on a 5'7" frame is not "majorly overweight". You were too hard on yourself. Still, it's great you are enjoying the results of getting healthy!❤
As a 67 yr old woman, I still just wear what I want. You wear the fashion you want, I’ll wear what I want. The last six months, I’ve started to upcycyle some of my clothes. I found a nice pair of straight legged jeans, & made them into bell bottoms, like we used to do 50 yrs ago. I love them, can dress them up since they are dark blue. I’m patching up a favorite long sleeved jean shirt, & it’s becoming a work of folk art, as the patches create a scene on the back. I have a flannel shirt that will receive the lace or crocheted pieces of old linens. That’s just an example of things I’m doing. Such as taking that over large wrap skirt that I’ll change into a simple yet more flattering skirt. If you like the style, great! If you don’t, that’s great too. We need to dress for what we like, feel comfortable in, & look good in. If it’s out of fashion, it doesn’t matter to me, sooner or later it will be back! God’s Blessings to you & May people be kind to you & others.
The Fashion Industry dictates what is “in” or “out” to generated sales and keep people buying more clothes! Decide for yourself what is “in” or “out” for you! Call them your “Vintage Skinny Jeans” … that automatically makes them COOL”! 🤣
As a 75 year old woman living in Wales I love your blog The advice and ideas you give are just right for me I used to worry about negative comments but now I realise the problem is with the comment makers and I can rise above them Please carry on your great work Best wishes from Wales xx
You are lovely and very open and honest sharing your knowledge on dressing and makeup tutorials. I am 75 and know I look much younger. Dressing with thought and knowledge is joyful!
Thank you Kay for another super informative and stylish video. I am 72 and never been very fashionable but I am learning from you how to be a little more modern in an age appropriate way.
NOTHING will persuade me to part with my skinny jeans! I am 5ft 2in, short waisted with a 38 inch bust . My legs are the best part of me! If I wear baggy, straight or any fashion jean it makes me look awful. I wear what suits me NOT what is in fashion.
I feel the exact same way! Wear what is flattering for your shape. Trending styles are suppose to be fun, but if it’s not flattering, what’s the point?
You look fabulous in pink Kay! Thanks for another great video - I am your age exactly and back in the day I used to keep abreast of trends by looking at magazines - but no need for that expense and clutter anymore! You do a MUCH better job of collecting looks I like and would wear. I do want to look stylish and aware (nothing worse than looking like you don’t know what decade this is 😅) but I don’t want to wear what is offered to the 20-something’s- not flattering or dignified on me. Thank you for being a great example of beauty, style, dignity and class!
I work outside... in the dirt! Still, a gal likes to look nice. Soooo excited about the carpenter pants. Even though I live a totally different lifestyle, I find something useful in every video. Thank you Kay 🤗
This is my first time watching your blog; I am enjoying it so much. Do you do a blog about make-up; your make-up is so flattering and I love the color of your lipstick. Do you publicize the brand and shade of it?
Those gold slingback heels are fabulous! I love your videos, Kay. The overall attitude of social media seems to be mannerless to downright mean a lot of the time, and the courage of UA-camrs such as yourself is admirable. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks Kay! You are always so gracious. I look forward to your videos as I always learn something new. I don’t have much of what’s not trending in my closet so that makes me happy! I appreciate you giving us what we should wear instead.
Hi Kay! I just found you! I’m 67 and need tons of encouragement and advice. You look so pretty in pink. I can’t wait for your What To Wear suggestions 😊.
You are always so sweet and positive. I purchased a few pairs of joggers from Talbots two years ago and I wear these when I am with my young grandsons. They allow me to be comfortable and I don't mind if they get a few smudges on them. They wash out beautifully. I always go back to what you say, "You do you." Thanks for another wonderful video.
Dear Miss Kay, You make my day With your cheery, upbeat attitude. When I see you smile I’m smiling back With a heart that’s filled with gratitude. Oh, who would guess Learning how to dress Could make me feel this way? I’m smiling still as I write these line. My dear, you’ve made my day.❤️
AND...for those of us who are "height-challenged" (I WAS 5'3", and at 70 have shrunk to 5'2"), and who have trouble finding short or petite jeans, it means we can buy "regular" length, carefully measure, and then cut 'em off and start to fringe them a bit. No more pinning and hemming! My trick is to cut them at least a 1/2 inch longer than I think I want them, and then use a seam ripper to start to fringe the free edge a bit. Better to cut too long and correct later than cut too short (I say this from experience). Thanks as always for your videos, Kay! I am no longer in the workplace, and live in a VERY casual, rural area where jeans are even worn to church, but I SO much admire your style! I do love wearing a "lady jacket" or blazer with my jeans.
Loved this video- - And I really think that nicely- tailored clothes and kitten heels have, and always will, stand the test of time. Tailored clothes accentuate the positive, and kitten heels can always be beautifully worn dressed up or dressed down. 😊
I love the slim look of the pink tee with matching pink long shirt. Fun color, chic styling. The only thing I would change is that I would tuck the tee-shirt in completely as I feel the partial tuck looks messy. The jeans and shoes were perfect with it.
Partial tuck is EVERYWHERE these days. It’s all about having a skinny waist, which is hard to achieve without prescription drugs or illness after 60. That was the wonder of leggings and skinny jeans, allowing one to skip over the jiggly bits. No more. The nipped in waist is all very well unless you have Interstitial Cystitis or any bladder disorder, and then you are well and truly doomed ever time you sit. It’s down to fasting, keto, no carbs, no bread and drink lots of water ladies. By the time that small waist comes into view, the fashions will have changed!
I love your style and consistency. You walk the talk. For the longest time I want to leave my hair natural, and every beautician discourages me. My husband too. They claim I’m going to look terrible, too old and lose my job and not be employable. Yet my gut longs for a fresh look like yours. I’m going to go for it, even against professional and family advise. I guess if it’s accompanied by appropriate make up, a polished look, and mind the details, I could find my own look where I’m comfortable and proud of my age. You put it together so nicely, your make-up, accessories, healthy, polished hair cut.., Congratulations!! You are an inspiration
You remind me of a friend. We saw each other often when our children were in school together. She and her husband had four children. She and her husband both had full- time jobs outside of their home, but she always looked stylish, as did the rest of her family, and she always smiled. Her smile is so much like yours. They moved to another town and we moved the opposite direction. I hope to see her again someday. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and information. I just moved and realize that I have too many clothes! After leading a life with very few clothes except items I made, it’s surprising to see how much I have collected. I wear the same size as I did 30 years ago. Please present a video on how to “weed”. Thanks again.
Hello, Kay. I wanted to share this with you, so you'll your kind words spread to Las Vegas, NV. First, I watched this video yesterday. Later in the day my husband and I went out to lunch. As we left the restaurant, we paused to allow a couple to enter, I stopped in my tracks. The woman wore heels, denim trousers, a white cardigan in the style of Coco Chanel suits and a perfect amount of gold jewelry. Enjoy your weekend!
😊Think it's thrilling when someone moves us w/their elegant &/or exceptionally attractive style. Did you happen to compliment this lady? Don't be shy about showing your appreciation. We all need a boost now & again. 😉I'm now firmly in the "See Something, Say Something" Camp🏕〰️esp. now that I'm taking such a delight in the subject of fashion & style. Sometimes our loved ones take our efforts for granted, & it's nice to be noticed for something positive. 🤫You never know what sort of day a person is having or what they're going through. I remember a particularly challenging day w/my 🥰pops in the doctor's office🧑⚕️. A gentleman🧑💼 in the busy waiting room caught my 👁👁eye as I was holding the office door for my dad to exit in his walker. All he said, "You're a good daughter." And, I still cherish the simple sincerity & kindness years later. Felt like 🕊God used an unexpected way to give me a little shout out too. Thank you, Jesus, for all the love & positivity that you've showered upon me. It proves He's not some distant Deity. He just needs bold & obedient folks like us to pass on the blessing...💐 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Skinny Jeans don’t work for me and I don’t think they look good on most people! I think they are awful on men! 😬 I wear what I like … I don’t care if it’s trending or not! Style and Fashion are not the same thing!
I am so glad you mentioned tank tops. That is my fav. At 77, I work hard at the gym and on my arms and body. I bought my first pair of skinny jeans a few months ago. I will wear them sometime with the right top. Normally I wear a Jean with a slight flare at the bottom. This suits my figure the best. I do have to watch shirt choices even as a shirt jacket since I have narrow shoulders. If that seam is not right at the shoulder, it makes me look dowdy. Since I am tall, I pass on the monochromatic, one color look since it makes me look even taller and skinnier. Same thing with platform shoes. I do love slingback shoes and had several pairs in the 1980s similar to the ones you showed. How I wish I could still wear those. But I figured it’s best to wear what I’m not going to fall over in so it is what it is. We all do our best.
I am so happy some of these things have gone out, like oversize clothes, and sweaters, I am petite and could not pull that off ,didn’t even try. I am a minimal classic person ,with a twist sometimes. I’ve always liked leopard print I have shoes ,a belt ,scarf and one top. I have a scarf that I bought in the 80s that is leopard print. I always save it for when it comes back in. I am 68 and love to look modern…😊
I own more or less all the different styles of jeans. I also keep my skinny jeans for the winter. It's looks really goofy to stuff wide leg pants into knee high boots or any kind of heavy winter boots (which you need here in the colder climate). They are more practical for walking my dogs too since they do not get wet from the ground and grass when we go to the off leash trails. I do not like to wear skinny jeans in the summer. They are clingy and warm. What surprises me is that many of the top designers still bring out skinny jeans this year and many fashion bloggers say they are out.
There are a few ways to think about trends. I am not trendless as a 60 year old but when bringing clothes into my wardrobe I consider is it a hell yeah piece I have to really like and not be ambivalent about it and secondly can I predict that I will wear the item 30 + times. these are guiding questions I use to try and have a more sustainable wardrobe and get more mileage out of the clothes I have. As a 60 year old woman with 4 grandchildren I am worried about the state of the world we are leaving to the next generation. Fashion as much as I love it is one of the more polluting industries in the world and so I try to pair sustainability with fashion fun.
Love the videos I’ve seen so far. Personally I’d like to know where dresses/skirts are going. When is that coming down the pike? Thank you for what you’re doing in fashion!
Thank you for your lovely work you do for us, encouring to stay relevant and active! I came back to your video after watching it a few hours ago because I realised I keep thinking about what you said about deleting the comments. I absolutly agree that you do that, have the right to do that and putting a boundary here for some people. I noticed it is a bit of a toboo among content creators and rarely mentioned, but it is so important to stress that you have the right to do that. As you open your life and home for us, anybody who want to enter in some muddy, dirty shoes should be certain that they will not be allowed. Once again thank you, that was empowering for me! ❤
I would love to revisit some of your suggestions about color choices, including how to select our own best colors and how to incorporate the Pantone 2024 color trends.
Oh my goodness, went and checked some of the sites you mention, love some of the clothes. Price way out of my income. Enjoyed your video. Thanks for keeping up with trends
I've been wearing relaxed fit straight leg jeans and pants forever because they are comfortable add fits my shape and style. So really, I don't care what the heck is "in fashion". Eventually it will come back in style.
I am under 5 ft tall and a size 10 or 12. I like skinny jeans and leggings can scrunch around my ankles so I don’t have to shorten them. Slim pants work as well if I can find a petite short pair
Hi Kay. I believe that skinny jeans are making a comeback for 2024, however jeggings and skin tight skinny jeans are out. I absolutely agree with everything else you shared in this video. I enjoyed it. Thank you!
You make me miss the Caribbean islands, bringing back so many memories of things I took for granted…sitting under the many mango trees filling myself silly, picking tamarind, chennet, and sour cherries on my way home from school, drinking from fresh picked coconuts daily and enjoying the jelly afterward, eating zaboca with every meal, eating cashew fruit and then roasting the cashew nuts, carefully inspecting pumerac with every bite…and chow everything…if you know, you know…🇹🇹
Very nice! May I have your lipstick color please? I think of fads as sparks of fun! You're right about the straight leg jean. The tighter the ankle the curve in the hip appears larger. SO happy to see over sized leaving! More fabric mahes you look larger! You always do an awesome bloog!
Hi, I loved your commentary on what drives our buying choices. I can look ok in most trends. And I love the fun that clothes have been for me over the years. I think trends disappear because they are uncomfortable. I have always thought as I observe women and their clothes : Is the woman wearing the clothes or are her clothes wearing her?
Thanks for another great video! I just got some straight leg jeans that are about 3” too long. I can turn them up for now and get them hemmed next year. Yay!
Great video - thanks for the insight! I think a lot of learning to wear new styles is getting used to seeing yourself in the new style. I know you've talked about that before. I remember the first time I tried on skinny jeans years ago at WHBM. I didn't buy them because I thought they were WAY too tight for someone my age (I was probably early 50's at the time!) But eventually I got used to the look and bought some and enjoyed wearing them. I'm now adjusting my eyes to the wider look jeans on my body!
Okay, I might actually have ro plan a better outfit for tomorrow. What would you put with dark olive jeans and a cream turtleneck sweater? Maybe caramel Chelsea boots. Maybe my velvet Ralph Lauren fringed scarf. Jacket, blazer?
Really happy to see the end of the distressed , oversized and legging looks 🎉. I much prefer the smart ‘elegant’ looks even when casual. Thank you ladies.
Thanks so much for these videos. I appreciate that you give guidance and direction, but also leave space for personal style. I’ve never been that interested in fashion but still want to look relevant and have some confidence in my choices. I also appreciate how respectful and careful you are with your words and how you foster an encouraging atmosphere. You are definitely letting your light shine!
I like knowing what's trending, only so I know if a tried and true favorite is coming back in so I can re-stock. Can I just say I love that the clothes you suggest seem much more realistic to me than some other yters in our age group. Not being rude to them, I just think your suggestions are nice looking while being practical.
I love the little raw hem. Quite handy for us of short stature. And it's especially nice for me as I work outside. It lends to the less- polished look.
Raw hem is not for me. They remind me of Daisy Duke cut-offs! It tries to be trendy but hanging threads are not classy or timeless. And i keep some skinny jeans for my tall boots. 👢 What is on trend is up cycling and repurposing. Disposable fashion is out. Also the matching tank top & cardigan or jacket smacks of old lady. Pair it with a tone darker or lighter, or good old white underneath. Or totally contrast. One of my fave cardigans is a light spring chartreuse that pops by itself or under a contrasting jacket. Make your own rules like an artist, wear with confidence! With all due respect, Talbots shouts old conservative lady, you can do better unless that’s your thing!
Hi Kay, I love the shade of your lipstick. It looks nice on you and the pink outfit. Your style videos have helped me so much. My misheard sayings... I always thought it was "flash in the pants". Lol. In my "style wake up" I realized that I don't have to wear what everyone is wearing or what is popular or on trend. I was just wearing skinny jeans bc that was what was popular but I never really liked the tight fitting body molding jeans. I need some room in my jeans.
I still love your Barbie pink trousers. They seem like they have a wonderful drape and weight to them. The subtle pleats are also really nice looking. I agree with you that toning it down with a nice camel color top is a great way to go. I am going to look for some pants like those, I can’t remember where you purchased them.
I appreciate the color on your nails! I just started allowing my nails to grow and to do some fun things with dips and gels (lol!). I always notice most people on camera have natural or white tips, which doesn't work for my current desires. Thank you for sharing. This is my 60th year and searching for the best fitting semi-baggy jeans for my 60 inch frame. 🥰
I wish the unbleached light colored carpenter pants would come back, the way I wore them in the mid-seventies. They were full in the thighs, but tapered a bit at the ankles, without being tight anywhere. They were awesome, comfortable, casual, and I'd wear them today if I found them.
@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms Actually, I think they were called painter's pants at the time, but same basic idea, with the loop on the thigh to hang you hammer.😏
I appreciate you, Kay, and your mission to help mature women look modern. I wear a modified skinny and I still wear my skinny jeans too. You're right that more people are wearing the wider leg jeans, but they aren't for everyone. Plus, I've seen lots of other women of all ages wearing their skinnies too. I'm open to a cropped straight leg with a slight flare. On a different subject, l was wondering if I do wear the white sneaker, can I still wear a black handbag? Thank you.
Yes, you can wear any color of handbag with white sneakers. Think of them as a neutral, just like blue jeans are a neutral pant. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching. 🥰
My heart breaks about skinny jeans but I have purchased straight legs that work. I found the wide legs actually work as well. I’m so glad I kept all my kitten heels and sling backs and love them with jeans. Talbots has beautiful shoes. I also love the return of comfortable Chanel look jackets with jeans and they’re perfect with wider pants. I’m off to try the pink Talbots sweater you had on.
I like the straight leg jean and bootcut will never go out of style for me. Funny thing about the cuff trend is I used to do that back in the 90s because most jeans were always too long on me. The one jean trend I am on the fence with is the barrel legs -I don’t think that will stay and I am not too sure it would fit my body shape.
I hope the barrel leg goes out of style also. I inadvertently bought a pair from Chicos. They were labeled as straight leg. When I got them they were kind of wide. I think I’ll keep them and only wear them with heeled boots or shoes. Wasn’t the original 90’s trend called stove pipe jeans?? I didn’t like them back then either! Lol!
Hi I just found you. I feel like you are a long lost friend. I loved what you said about your no shaming policy. I believe we should offer support and fellowship to one another. Shine in young lady. I will be watching your videos.❤
Good video for updated looks. I will still wear my “skinny” jeans because for me they work. Being 4’10” with a 26” inseam and 96 pounds, the majority of the jeans you showed would absolutely not work for me. Wide leg pants would make me look even shorter and those wide cuffed Jeans seriously are ridiculous on my stature. Finding pants if you are truly short are difficult to find. Talbots has such nice looking pants/jeans but they are usually way too long (even the petite version) or they are huge in the waist for me. Since so many stores have closed I have to order online and the cost of return shipping is an issue. I have found that Macys has a great return policy, so that helps. The search continues for me as far as jeans/pants…..
Hmm I have been trying to go more minimalist and only keep what I am currently wearing. With all this stuff coming back I guess I will start storing my old stuff and wait for the next go round. I wonder how long before skinny jeans make a comeback. They have been embraced by everyone in all sizes. It will be a big adjustment if those flappy legged things from the 70's come back. The bad part is that every time the pant width changes it means different shoes. Fun to see your take on these styles and some good alternatives to mix in the off trend things we own.
Good sound advice for all women, thank you. Adidas Samba sneakers are very much on trend, very old school and come in so many colors. Plus one can wear them with everything!
Great news about all but one trend! I'll have to adjust to the sneakers. I like my streamlined Sperrys...but, chunkier shoes are much more comfortable! Thanks for another informative video! ❤❤❤
I am thankful that oversized is out. I love a good blazer or sweater! As far as shoes goes, I try to fit my foot, which is not easily done and look for styles afterwards! Getting old is not for sissy’s and my ankle and arc always take precidence 😊. I bought some carpenter pants too. Can you wear them without cuffs? It feels like the cuff weighs me down ( I’m 5’2)
I appreciate your advice for “no blaming, no shaming “. Perhaps I’m showing my 80 years, but the rudeness and coarseness in our culture cannot be offset by anything one wears, not matter the style, color, tailoring, label or cost!
You are not showing your age. Kindness should span a lifetime ❤️
Good manners never goes out of style ;)
Great video Kay. You help keeping us abreast of current trends. Thank you
At 80 or 82 you can still look elegant, classy and sexy. Never give in to frumpy. Create your own style.💝
🎉yes, @gracesusanotte5474 !😊
This industry is all about making money. Changing styles constantly like everyone is made of money. I will always wear what makes me comfortable.
That is just wonderful. So encouraging. Thank you for sharing. 💕
Let's do 60!😊😊😊😊
That is the challenge, see the number but remember who You are and not listen to stereotypes about who you turned into because of an age
Completely agree with how you felt. I felt exactly the same and it has taken some time and research to understand who/what I am now.
I look forward to every Wednesday, thank you for your encouraging words regarding dressing for my day. I’m 73 and always looking to improving my style. Thank you

Yes!! I’m in LOVE with the huge wide pants (no tightness anywhere!) so I’m buying extra of the ones I love while they’re available. ❤
Leopard print (and also Polka Dots) never really go out of style = Classics
Absolutely! Thanks for watching. 💕
Then I say absolutely go for those skinny jeans. And congratulations on your weight loss. That is amazing! Enjoy! 😊
Wear them . Really who cares ?
Like she said, trends are optional. If you love skinny jeans, and they make you happy and comfy, wear them! It's your body and your life. Enjoy it!
@@cleopatra658 true, vintage makes them cool, but I had more fun up cycling my clothes!
yeah i love to upcycle stuff and it also sells well on Etsy.
Love your videos but not crazy about your political sponsor! Carole❤
"Fads are for fun" i like that a lot. Not that fads are cheap or tacky but they're temporary fun. Great perspective.
As a 75 year old woman living in Wales I love your blog
The advice and ideas you give are just right for me
I used to worry about negative comments but now I realise the problem is with the comment makers and I can rise above them
Please carry on your great work
Best wishes from Wales xx
You are lovely and very open and honest sharing your knowledge on dressing and makeup tutorials. I am 75 and know I look much younger. Dressing with thought and knowledge is joyful!
I really value and appreciate your views on 'no shaming' and 'being gracious'. It sets a positive tone for all of us in our daily lives as well.
I am grateful that you expressed that negative comments are not acceptable. As women we should encourage each other.
Yay! I love your no shame policy! We can all make a better world by supporting each other! ❤❤❤
Wonderful. thanks so much for graciously understanding.
Thank you Kay for another super informative and stylish video. I am 72 and never been very fashionable but I am learning from you how to be a little more modern in an age appropriate way.
Thank you for your videos and social media content. I love your upbeat, positive approach toward fashion and living our best years❤
Thanks for watching!😊
You are such a great example of the gracious southern lady. Kay, your beautiful personality shines through with every video. ❤ your style advice.
Thank you so much 🤗
I’m so glad to see over sized clothes are going they reminded me of dressing up in mom’s clothes!
Nope! Not giving up my Skinny Jeans!
Long may the live!
My size is similar to yours. Short people have to look good too. show off your cute legs with skinny jeans and leggings, with a nice top.
Yep, love my skinny jeans & leggings!
Love it!! Thanks so much for sharing. 😊
I'm 68vand have been wearing wide leg and bell bottom jeans. I get so many compliments. It takes me back to my high school and college years. 😊
Yes, I love my Talbots joggers, too. That's what I was wearing in the video. Perfect for active days.
Dear Miss Kay,
You make my day
With your cheery, upbeat attitude.
When I see you smile
I’m smiling back
With a heart that’s filled with gratitude.
Oh, who would guess
Learning how to dress
Could make me feel this way?
I’m smiling still as I write these line.
My dear, you’ve made my day.❤️
Don't know why, but I think the no-hem jeans look very flattering.
Love your content and suggestions Kay! At 67 my style is ever evolving with the changes in my life. Always look forward to Wednesday mornings ❤
So glad! 😀
Love the videos. You are certainly a class act. Thank you for that.
Thanks for watching! 🥰
Love it. You always hit it! You’re joy comes through in the video, thanks for sharing!
You put it together so nicely, your make-up, accessories, healthy, polished hair cut..,
Congratulations!!
He just needs bold & obedient folks like us to pass on the blessing...💐

I for one am VERY happy that skinny jeans are out of style- I hope they never come back!!
You must have the perfect body, like all the pictures she shows.
Skinny Jeans don’t work for me and I don’t think they look good on most people! I think they are awful on men! 😬
I wear what I like … I don’t care if it’s trending or not!
Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts. 🥰
Love your videos. Thank you for all the effort you put into this. Much appreciated! 😊
The cuff Jean makes the legs look shorter.
Indeed it does. 😊
Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
Oh my goodness, went and checked some of the sites you mention, love some of the clothes. Price way out of my income. Enjoyed your video. Thanks for keeping up with trends
Maybe you could do screenshots of the clothes you like and shop other websites or stores - like old navy for example.
Kay~thank you for being a positive ray of sunshine!! Much needed in this world!! Great tips today! Enjoyed!!
You are so welcome!🤗
Hi Kay. I believe that skinny jeans are making a comeback for 2024, however jeggings and skin tight skinny jeans are out. I absolutely agree with everything else you shared in this video. I enjoyed it. Thank you!
Thank you for spreading human kindness. Your style is fabulous and I love your hair style and color.
You make me miss the Caribbean islands, bringing back so many memories of things I took for granted…sitting under the many mango trees filling myself silly, picking tamarind, chennet, and sour cherries on my way home from school, drinking from fresh picked coconuts daily and enjoying the jelly afterward, eating zaboca with every meal, eating cashew fruit and then roasting the cashew nuts, carefully inspecting pumerac with every bite…and chow everything…if you know, you know…🇹🇹
Thank you for your weekly videos. You always give great suggestions for staying modern. I appreciate your research!
You are so welcome!🤗
Ahhh, good, kitten heels! They’re all I’ve been able to wear in recent years, I’ll be in style!
You are correct with the slim jeans. I just got 2 pair from banana republic 🤫 loving the fitting
No shame policy! I ❤it! And yes let’s build each other up and not tear down.
Yay!
Perfect! 👍🏻
Absolutely! We definitely have to get used to seeing ourselves in something different. Thanks for sharing that encouragement for everyone.
Okay, I might actually have ro plan a better outfit for tomorrow. What would you put with dark olive jeans and a cream turtleneck sweater? Maybe caramel Chelsea boots. Maybe my velvet Ralph Lauren fringed scarf. Jacket, blazer?
Both sound great! I think just adding a little effort goes a long way making us look visually put together. 😊
Really happy to see the end of the distressed , oversized and legging looks 🎉. I much prefer the smart ‘elegant’ looks even when casual. Thank you ladies.
Thanks for sharing!!🥰
Thanks so much for these videos. I appreciate that you give guidance and direction, but also leave space for personal style. I’ve never been that interested in fashion but still want to look relevant and have some confidence in my choices. I also appreciate how respectful and careful you are with your words and how you foster an encouraging atmosphere. You are definitely letting your light shine!
Thank you. That is very kind and encouraging.
Thank you for your positivity! You seem like a very kind person! Arising tide raises ALL ships!
Enjoyed this video. Getting ready for spring is less daunting after your Wed. encouragement.
Thanks, Kay! Here’s me: I’m kind of blind to trends coming and going soon enough. So, you help open my eyes to pick up on updates. I appreciate you! ❤
I like knowing what's trending, only so I know if a tried and true favorite is coming back in so I can re-stock. Can I just say I love that the clothes you suggest seem much more realistic to me than some other yters in our age group. Not being rude to them, I just think your suggestions are nice looking while being practical.
I don't believe that ragged, raw hems can be considered classic.
No the hemline is not classic, but it is on trend.
I love the minimal raw hem. It is so hip to me and gives a nod to being on trend.
I love the little raw hem. Quite handy for us of short stature. And it's especially nice for me as I work outside. It lends to the less- polished look.
Just can't buy ripped garments
Yes! That’s me too. I need some room in my jeans. Ha! Boy, I’ve misunderstood some common sayings before too. Hahaha! 😂 Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
I still love your Barbie pink trousers. They seem like they have a wonderful drape and weight to them. The subtle pleats are also really nice looking. I agree with you that toning it down with a nice camel color top is a great way to go. I am going to look for some pants like those, I can’t remember where you purchased them.
Love your channel. I have all styles of sneakers but I think I will dust off the Keds. It’s time. I’m going for 2025 style, ahead of the crowds!
The carpenter pants are definitely in, so I would be watching for some like you're describing. They may be out there!
@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms Actually, I think they were called painter's pants at the time, but same basic idea, with the loop on the thigh to hang you hammer.😏
Amazon has Dickies painter pants.
Can probably be found where they sell “work” clothes for the outdoors and trades type jobs!
I love joggers for traveling. The airplane lavatory...'nuff said!
Terrific. Especially liked the advice about travel. Will get a nice dark joggers or full leg pants. Have to get comfortable walking shoes.
Take what you feel fits you and gratefully leave the rest. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Kay. Wonderful video. Glad I kept my boyfriend blazers that are I think back in style. Have a wonderful day.
You are so welcome! 🤗
The sling back style lower heels work for me as my feet are different sizes and I can adjust the strap.
Loved the ending of your video with your dance moves! So cute! I wish you were my neighbor and friend.
😊 thank you
Kay I love your Wednesday Videos , you are such a Lovely Positive Lady with such good advice and inspiration for us ladies ❤️
Thank you for those kind words. 🥰
I know that must be a struggle. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure there are others who have to work through that too. Thanks for watching. 😊
Thank you, Kay. You are lovely!
You are so welcome!🤗
Thanks for keeping us up to date on fashion news. I check my closet and decide on what I might add.
We need more. I am a caregiver for my husband. It has affected my physical and mental health and I fear shortened my own life.
Stay strong and wear what gives you comfort and confidence. Caregiving is exhausting but you will never regret having done all you could.
Not able to wear heels anymore and would like to have seen shoe suggestions on flats to wear in place of the kitten heel.
There are definitely some great flat sling backs too. Like these: rstyle.me/+5ffR3IaOoTIWPGH1iq0G0Q
@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms thank you SO much!
Kay, I appreciate you and your content. You have helped me quite a bit especially when I turned 60 years old.
Great news about all but one trend! I'll have to adjust to the sneakers. I like my streamlined Sperrys...but, chunkier shoes are much more comfortable! Thanks for another informative video! ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! 😊
I love slim fit , never have cared for skinny jeans as I have bigger thighs and skinny legs under the knee. I do love your linen shirt!
Agree with positive comments only and no shaming. TY
I watched you talk about what is Trending and then went shopping on amazon!
