Pointed toe shoes were in style when I was young. Caused me to have toe problems requiring medical attention. So seeing them fashions again brings back bad memories
It doesn't have to be a super pointed toe. An almond-shaped toe works great as well. You can find comfy shoes that are roomy in the toe box but have a streamlined look. Like these for example: rstyle.me/+rJ0gz8-FACA6ws_osppm8Q
Serena does another video about 2024 shoe trends. In there she recommends for pointed toe boot styles to wear a 1/2 size up to avoid the possibility of squeezed toes in the toe box. I am paraphrasing… 🙃

I really needed this video! Perfect timing as I am going through my latest purchases and trying to decide what shoes to wear with them. I have a lot of the Chico’s Girlfriend slim straight leg style in different washes and colors, so those are pretty easy as I have to get them hemmed to be at my ankle in the right place. The tricky ones are a pair of Chico’s trouser jeans. I measured the leg opening and they are 18.5 Inches which is a few inches less than most wide legs. I bought the trouser jeans in petite and they are a little short to wear with a pointed toe slim ankle boot (also from Chico’s); however, after watching this video, I will wear them with a pair of lug sole suede loafers from last year that are not clunky, pointed toe flats or a loafer mule. They are long enough that they don’t get caught up in the vamp of the loafers and there is no break in the jean above the instep. I think I was able to answer my question with your video! Am I on the right track here? Would love to know what you would pair with them. As much as I like the boots and they are surprisingly comfortable, I think I will return them as I don’t want to have to buy a bunch of wide leg jeans or flares to go with them. I have mostly slim straight jeans in my closet. Thanks for the great info! It really helps seeing visual examples of what looks good and what doesn’t.
I couldn't agree with you more regarding getting the right pair of shoes and boots with your outfits, and you were spot on with your choices in your video! Huge difference with the right pair of shoes!! I bought those Walmart boots in red, and the color shown in your video before the video was even done😂 I am hoping they are comfortable!!

Great tips and tricks for wearing boots with our fall/winter jeans. I never leave the house without lugging my shoes or boots to the foyer full length mirror and trying on at least 2, 3, or 4 styles of boots on. You just never know which one might work best. I have all lengths like you & alot of cropped ones too. With full length flare or wide leg it is usually a 3 inch heel boot for me. I live in Florida and hate to wear any type of closed toe shoe. I need to from time to time and never seem to get it right. I have the little Walmart look alike fashion sneakers and although they are so cute I find them uncomfortable. Maybe because I rarely wear closed shoes or maybe because I'm 56 and need better supporting shoes. You have such a flair for fashion and I love your channel. I noticed your entryway table with the big baskets under it and wondered where it was from. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed this video. Thanks for sending me here. I find that I am too “ tall” for “ short length jeans, too “ short” for average length jeans which means hemming jeans! I find the whole thing frustrating. How can I get away with rolling “ cuffs” on the? longer ones
so happy i found this! I have been struggling with jeans and the right shoes! one comment I have: you didn't talk about the color of the shoes and how light or dark the shoes are vs the jeans. having short legs and being petite, if my shoes are dark and my jeans wash is light or white, this contrast cuts me off at the jeans hem and makes my legs look even shorter. your eyes instantly go to this contrast. elongating is what we want, but the contrasting shoes may not do that. sadly i am always futzing with shortening jeans or looking for the perfect shoe to wear with them! i am currently looking for a lighter color leather/suede shoes such as tan or natural leather color. i hope that this will inspire another video and as a new subscriber I will look for it! many thanks!
@@karenpiehl491 welcome! You're right. It's good to match shoes to pants to elongate the look. But in this video I was emphasizing which style of shoe/boot not necessarily color.

Joggers, not jeans. Also, I've walked all over NYC, Washington DC, Amsterdam, etc etc in GOOD fashion sneakers. You don't have to wear HOKA's. Check out P448 brand. They are made in Italy and that's what I have worn with no problem whatsoever. If you wear the gym style trainers like HOKA's, On Cloud, etc you will also stand out like a sore thumb as an American tourist in Europe, making yourself a bigger target for pickpockets etc.
The straight leg jeans with chelsea boot is my favorite look! I live in that!!! Lol...evereve is also one of my favorite sites. Their clothes are made to last!
Great and helpful video. Just one comment. Sometimes we need to wear the “Wrong shoe” because of foot problems. I have really painful feet if I don’t wear my orthotics and unfortunately they only fit in certain shoes- usually athletic shoes. But I do appreciate seeing lovely, stylish shoes. Thanks for keeping us on trend.

Loafers & loafer slides go with cropped flares, straight, and slim straight styles.
This is the video I have been needing!
Thank you so much for the good advice about wearing jeans and shoes
Never thought about wide leg jeans with flats but looks cute on you.
I didn't wear wide leg jeans. With flats. They were bootcut.
Hi serena was wondering if your black boots you have are heavy? Also the green sweater looks different when I went to website ! Same sweater? Love the video!!!
No they aren't heavy. And it's the same sweater. I just sized down 1 to make it more fitted.
Thxs much!!😊
Good video. Now I know what I’m doing wrong with jeans and sneakers. Time to update my look. ❤😂
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@shell51569 the table, baskets, rug, lamps, etc are all linked i. The description!
I enjoyed this video. Thanks for sending me here. I find that I am too “ tall” for “ short length jeans, too “ short” for average length jeans which means hemming jeans! I find the whole thing frustrating. How can I get away with rolling “ cuffs” on the? longer ones
@@kathyweist9236 don't do it. Experiment with different inseam lengths and find some that work for you or hem them or wear a heel.
Great video, thanks as the struggle is real! Fitting jeans and or shoes on my unique anatomy 😑
so happy i found this!
Do you have or can you please make a similar video focusing on what sweater with what jeans and how you style?
This video was jam packed with great information! My head is spinning, but I think this will help me when I’m trying to look less frumpy as a 73 year old woman. Thanks so much, Serena. I love your content.

I will need to wear a Hoka style sneaker for walking in Italy. What jeans, if any, do you suggest? Jogger style pants?
@@janetdand2704 they make "cute" sneakers for problem feet now! Both Calla shoes and Sole Bliss make them. Yes, they are pricey but they are great.
In one of your videos, you mentioned a side sleep pillow that helped to prevent wrinkles. Could you please tell me what the name of the pillow is?
Yes, here is the link. Use code SERENA for a discount!

Great when you are at home but what if you are traveling with something like Chelsea boots & are limited with your packing?
@@pamelalanders2055 pack a straight leg pair of jeans. Goes with all shoes.
I am wondering if you could also link the blue and green striped cardigan that you are wearing on the cover of this video? I just love it and it would go with so many of my jeans. I looked on your ltk and I looked were you had everything linked for this video, but I could not find it thank you in advance
