  • No.12 - Engine Build for the '74 Honda MT250.
    FINALLY - we get to build the engine. This video took a long time because I had to wait on parts... and buy parts and send them back because they didn't fit and order more parts... So it was quite long. And thanks to my son Reese for making a cameo and helping me with part of the build.
    And a HUGE THANK YOU to Cradin Coatings for sponsoring this episode. Phenomenal folks and unsurpassed Cerakoating and Ceramic coatings. Please go and visit their website/instagram and check out their stuff:

    Did you make anything about timing? I watched a couple but didn't see it

      Oops just saw this. No I didn't film any timing adjustments but GoldGuy has one. Look him up.

    What type of oil did you use? My manual says 10W-40 but it doesn't say wet clutch. I could really use your help. Thanks.

      Motul 7100 4T 10W-40 Synthetic Oil 4 Liters (104092) a.co/d/hTktYaP
      This is what I used and it is specifically for bikes with a wet clutch. Most other oils have modifiers that are not compatible with wet clutches. 🙂

      Thank you so much. I love your videos, I wish I would've found them before I had finished mine. So thanks to you I have more work to do in the future. I'm gonna do the 12 volt conversion cause I love the LED headlight and everything you have done to yours.

      Thanks for watching Emmet! I get most of my used parts on eBay or go and pick a buddys motorcycle parts yard. If its new parts - like rubber, clutch stuff or brakes I like 4Into1.com or PartsFish.com. Make sure to reference CMSNL.com so you get the right part for your bike. 👍

      @@CurtisTarwater what did u use for the stator wiring harness grommet?

    • @CurtisTarwater
      @CurtisTarwater  2 роки тому

      @@timrader1260 Hey Tim! Fortunately The original grommet was still in good working condition. The top of it was a little damaged so I filled it with silicone and wrapped with electrical tape into the wiring harness cover. If you don't have an original grommet you can find a butyl o-ring that will fit in the hole. Just make sure that you wrap the wires with a good loom from inside the case to outside through the grommet hole. Put some silicone on it, let it cure and then wrap with electrical tape. Should be watertight.

      @@CurtisTarwater yea I had found something similar to what you suggested. Was just hoping you might have found something better. I like your videos on these MTs , my first bike build and it's a 1975 Mt250, really helps me with quick and to the point videos

    Your flywheel puller.
    What's the brand name and where did you get it?

      It works pretty good for a 2-jaw. Just make sure to go slow or it may lean to one side on you.
