- A Steinway Grand in a college practice room has a pronounced click when you release the key. The problem turns out to be a loose key lead in the key which is repaired by swedging the key lead tighter in the hole.

that guy practicing Chopin’s 1st ballade hahahah
I have pliers from Renner that squeeze the lead.
Love your tip.
I love those pliers! They use to sell them from Steinway but don't anymore. I wondered where I could get some. Thanks for the info!
Who's that guy playing ballade in the background? I wish them the best of luck lmao. such an amazing piece
That piano is in a practice room at the Utah State University, surrounded by practice rooms. Lots of repertoire being played at pretty much any hour of the day!
We have Diapson Grand Piano at church and it has the same problem as that, clicking Bb key
Too harsh butcher with the screw driver and hammer like a junk yard mechanic on a beautiful Steinway, Is he certifies from Steinway?
Ha ha! Yes, I am factory-trained and authorized by Steinway. What tool do you like to use to swedge leads?
I was a bit surprised when he put the top part of the action, the hammers, vertically aside. I never do that. the clicking noise that some hammers make have many causes, he was just showing one cause I guess.
