I always liked the irony of how the Martells were the Targaryen's biggest enemy for centuries but in the current story the Martells are their biggest supporters
@MyUserTubeAccount after Robert's Rebellion Oberyn immediately wanted to publicly support and proclaim Viserys as his king but was held back by Doran. Doran however still was heavily involved in the Targaryen Restoration in marrying Arianne to Viserys and then later adjusted for Quentyn to marry Daenerys. So even though those plans fell apart, the Martells nonetheless were the leading force behind Targaryen support after they were overthrown. An effort was still being made and actively plotted behind the Iron Throne
@@donttalktomebye yea, i recall Doran trading no support publicly or privately to Viserys and Dany, and to wait until they got their army to reconquer Westeros, and in return for no support his daughter gets to be queen? i also recall him sending Quentyn with a very small retinue to Dany with the offer of Viserys and Arianne hoping to just change it on the fly to 'Quentyn and Dany' after hearing she has 3 dragons and an army of Unsullied? seems Doran is more interested in revenge against Tywin Lannister, the Mountain, and Amory Lorch than "Targaryen restoration"? they're no House Derry. if Doran wants to restore anything, it seems like Dornish Law, which Oberyn asked Tyrion about, and Doran left a book for Arianne to read up on.
I think Daeron II's marraige to the Dornish did not just put an end to the animosity between the Targaryens and the Martells but it also between the Blood of Old Valyria and the Rhoynar.
Aegon IV: Dornussy got you acting strange boy! Don't forget what they've done! Prince Daeron: By the Seven father, how can you say that without any self-awareness?!
Kind of sad that nothing was revisited in regards to Rhoynish water mages and their importance in defeating the old Valyrian dragon riders from Volantis the first time around, I mean they where able to murk 3 dragons just with a handful of water mages and man at arms, it took hundreds of dragon lords jumping them at once to push them out of Essos, wondering if it’ll be something the Dornishmen unlock once more since the return of magic to westeros and ASOIF universe as a whole
Yeah i love the martells and dorne as a whole. Very cool! I do think the sand snakes are a bit goofy, but god NOTHING LIKE THE SHOW. That was actual shit. Anyway Quenten in the book has a really interesting journey, and the Arianne chapters from Winds are SO interesting. i’m super pumped for their role in the winds of winter.
The guy who shot down rhaenys and her dragon was not a sniper just some random man at arms who got lucky calling him a sniper cheapens the name he didn't spend years practicing and honing the skill it takes to be one he probably used the scorpion a hand full of times before he was told to man it that day
“Through the power of Jesus Christ.” 💀 😂 As always awesome video D. Thank you for always trying to keep ASOIAF fresh and relative in the algorithm. I appreciate it.
Is it me or Dorne has solid plot armour? Where were they hiding the whole time? If each castle and keep had been burned, how do they stand to present storyline ? I mean, it's just confusing.
They did know the Dragons were coming. My guess is that everything was moved out of the castles tae hidden locations. Basically turning the castles and keeps into decoys.
They are Rhoynars. Their ancestors fought and won a 'few' wars against ancient Valyria. They know what they are doing unlike the Durandons, Lannisters, Hoares, House Gardeners.

hmm, in what way is House Martell "Targaryen" supporters? ask Viserys or Dany if they felt supported?

House Baratheon were their biggest allies and now their greatest enemies lol

Gotta give it to the Dornish. Unbowed, unbent, unbroken they’ve always been.
Still think the Starks and Martells should have teamed up against the Lannisters
Yeah, the North and South!

Dornussy 💀
“Through the power of Jesus Christ,” I laughed out loud 😂
Seems fitting that Dorne gave the most resistance against the Targaryens since the Royne also put up a strong resistance against Valyria.

Our words. Unbowed. Unbent. Unbroken. I love it
I wouldn't call spoilers the only pieces of lore that we might get in this lifetime from the book that was promised
That dornussy is just too good aparently
lo, sounds gross when you say it like that..

They always were true to their words : Unbowed. Unbent. Unbroken.
Casually throw He-man in there as a Lord
Viserys and Quentyn would have been good pals. They are both screw-ups
All the modern martells in GOT are part targaryen technically.
Unbowed ,unbent, unbroken
Hope you can do one for starks and Baratheon
Through the power of who? 10:35 hahaha
The power of JC?
First to take the Black 🖤

The most castels in the story have deep cellars or mines...

Its not a plot hole or plot armor. Its just part of the plot.
well is Quentyn dead ???
What made you think he was alive? What is your evidence?
Why Visenya was the First Queen, Yellow Toad would have met Dark Sister day one. If Visenya went to Dorne and Rhaenys went to the *Arie.
WC!!!!!
Why is He-man presented as Quren Martell lulz could have picked another image or shade the character. I cracked when I saw He-man.
😄
Good vid except for the part about quentin being dead
What made you think he was alive?
