Haven't read any of the books yet so this is my first time hearing that Arthur Dayne, Jaime Lannister, and Barristan Selmy were apart of a group together and it blows my mind. They could probably killed anything they wanted.
True
The Smiley knight said hi….. oh never mind!
When jaime compared the current kingsguard to the former roster, he thought that one of them could have killed all of the current members while going to the restroom. It should be remembered that most of the current kingsguard got there due to political reasons.
I Love House Dayne. Even Eddard Stark himself quoted that as a boy he sometimes wished that he was a Dayne of Starfall and not a Stark of Winterfell.
Dawn was forged from a fallen star which at the time of jon snows birth lay at the foot of the bed with blood on it..... born under a bleeding star?
You realize that like, half of the major characters in the books and show can be put pretty well into that prophecy, Martin is clearly doing it on purpose, the fact that Jon Snow also fits is nothing special really.
To little land for the Yronwoods. They are Wardens of The Boneway and they have some of the most rich and fertile lands in dorne. They were the most powerful kings in dorne before Nymeria and the Yronwoods make up the most of the army in the Boneway, which is one of the two armies which represent the most of the dornish strength. They are obviously the most powerful house in dorne.
These videos are amazing. Without them I wouldn’t have gotten as deep into ASOIAF as I am now. Truly inspiring stuff
"House Jordayne of the Tor"; Ha Ha, Wheel of Time reference.
Or more accurately a reference to Robert Jordan himself as him and George were friends.
I dont see the wot reference pls tell me
@@bemnet7149 The Wheel of Time was written by Robert Jordan and published by Tor books.
Spottswood is near the the broken arm of dorne, not in the middle of the desert... every map of dorne shows that
I love these videos and this was the one I was waiting for! Great job!
Does anyone remember Anguy, the Brotherhood without banners archer
Btw, he is from the dornish marches
Jon Connington wasn't a member of the Kingsguard and Ashara Dayne dances with Baristan Selmy.
i think we meant a member of the Kingsguard and Jon Connington
I was w8ting for this one
The ability to slow things down exists within UA-cam's media player - go to the little cog depicting the settings tab, click on it. After you've clicked on it a menu should appear above the cog, click on 'playback speed' and choose your desired speed. Thus you can slow or speed up the video to your discretion.
My favorite of the 7 regions
Thanks for doing this video. I have enjoyed every video that you have made!
Enjoy! Thanks!
Nymeria had a pretty active life goddamn.
This is a great video. Thank you for taking the time to create it and share. I appreciate you. 😘
Thanks mate!
Thanks for this! Had to stop at 29:40 because that seems to be where HotD (on HBO) is at. I love the history of Nymeria and Dorne considering it is the only territory in Westeros where women have some sort of agency.
Great channel. Good effort
Your explanations of the lesser houses with regional boundaries are very good and I think they help in understanding the complexities of the different kingdoms. I see a lot of complaints about the speed of your speech , I realise that the length of your videos will be longer if u slow down but you could compensate for this by not explaining the recent histories of the houses that almost everyone knows from the shows and also from the histories and lore videos. Are you a one man show or do u have a team??
I'm one. It's great that web has so many fan driven sources though, so it's ok. We, fans, are all a team.
@@ScrivaTV I love the way how u show the geographical boundaries of each houses extents
Very interesting. Thanks for this.
Thanks for watching!
i just looked for this episode this morning! I found your channel earlier this week. Really enjoy the house specific info.
Thanks! Enjoy!
37 min of awesome info coming up :)
keep up the good work
Soo 1 man created and wrote all of this. Amazing
_"It doesnt snow in Dorne even during the harshest winters"_
Well there's my season 8 prediction. Everyone flees to Dorne where the last stand will take place.
Yea and resurrection of the viper
Oh boy were you wrong
Do you feel bad now?
That would've been cool
Dorne builds a Wall, and The Others will pay for it!
enjoyed it
Very informative, but it lacks passion in the reading, your channel could soar if you practiced with slowing down and adding emphasis to your words
More toxic pls
25:35 Guantanamo Island of Westeros
Alcatraz of Dorne
Alcatraz lol.
I actually wouldn’t mind it if Jon snow becomes sword of the morning and he is actually Jon Dayne or something. But thematically he must be rheagar and lyannas son as they are ice and fire but potentially ice and fire is Jon dayne and Daenerys Targaryen
I've noticed you've done all the regions except Dorne...
it's funny that even tough George says he was inspired in the mediterranean countries the people and the place has waaay more in common with the Persian and medieval india
Spain was under Moorish rule for a good few centuries, resulting in a lasting Muslim/North African/Middle Eastern influence in all parts of life. Europe... kinda forgot about all that time it spent being under Moorish &/or Mongol rule. Vikings are archaeologically understood to have traded with (& thus recruited & intermarried) people throughout eurasia & north africa - there are written accounts spanning from china to egypt of [merchant guild/bank people] complaining about rowdy Vikings at port.
Yeah even the Dornishman "look" reminds me of the heroes of Persian stories.
The Bloodroyal!!!! So fucking badass!!!
its like he is reading a run on sentence
Where do you get your sources for the actual size of each house?
guestimation
There is a book called :The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones. That is where they got in info.
It doesn't map out the houses area of control ...
Liam
Information taken from the novels, the world of ice and fire mixed with some educated guesses.
I like the videos
How did the 13th lord commander(nightking) get the nights queen(female other presumably) past the wall to the nights fort considering the spells carved into it's foundation which is supposed to prevent this very thing?
There are theories that Nights Queen was nothing more than a daughter of a king from Barrowlands, since Barrowlands were historically associated with graves... so maybe that was just an allegory.
Do the Free Cities!
Eventually.
Cheers.. Great video .. you need more fans ... start advertising yourself on facebook etc.
Thanks for suggestion!
Slow down the narration - Pause between sentences please.
too late...he already made the video
Listen to the Northern Houses. You will regret it. It's even more slower.
George REALLY needs to drop TWOW already. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it writers block, or did he write himself into a corner by killing off a character that he ended up needing for the plot to move forward?
I can't deal with the HBO ending to the series being the only official ending to A Song of Ice and Fire.
Then you'll love Hot D.
Excellent (even though it sounds like one long rambling sentence and very difficult to understand) Slow down, pause please
I wonder if it will snow in Dorne when the white walkers come along.
Dude's accent makes me homesick for Philadelphia
Baelor the Blast xD the exploding jesus
i dont mean to be rude, but i am very curiousas to what r accent s ^_^ wonderful channel, hello from australia
Russian from Baltics region, I suppose.
The Mad king lived up to his name for not trusting Dorne if they would of defended Kings Landing instead of going to the Trident well he was crazy
What will happen to dorne in the show?
Do basilisk lsles and sotorios
At some point.
I suggest you slow down in your narration.
I'll consider. Thanks.
He's not even talking that fast
His overall speed isn't bad, but he needs to learn to pause a second between sentences.
Or hire a professional narrator. So annoying finding an amazing video full of detail and the narrator sounds like call centre employee or a completely spacker like Dylan chills.
@@huk-uf7ut The ability to slow down the video, for comprehensive purposes, exists within UA-cam's media player. Use this function.
21:47 adventuring candles?
Yes, like in "Beauty and the Beast".
Your vids are great but you should work on the robot voice
Doran Martell was foster whit the Gargalens and by the wey Quentyn Martell`s furst kiss was whit one of the Drinkwater twins but he dosen`t even know wich one the Drinkwater twins are Gerys Drinkwater`s sisters and the Drinkwaters are landed knights working for the Yoronwoods Oberyn forged 6 links of a maester`s chain he worked whit The Second Sons and then made his own company
With

Doesn't
Not doing this be insulting but in hope that you learn.
:) a man is having a headache
Why ist the Doris marches not under the dormice houses
Dornish Marches never were under the Dorne. In contrary, Marcher lords have always fought with the Dorne, that's why they're called "Dornish".
Oh God I thought you forgot about Dorne.
=) Not at all. Just popped in my mind: after Doran's machinations around Targaryen restoration, westerosi should consider on saying "Dorne remembers", especiallly after North "forgets".
do the summer lslands
💓🔥💓
West Ross

Do slavers bay
I will.
ScrivaTV thx a lot mate btw very fuckin awesome video. Keep up the good work
My man you got a dornish accent
Burder Wurs
nice video.. i hope they replace the narrator
your map of Dorne does not match up....
Vesteros, Vinther... warrior, water, war?
Overall great video, but the inconsistent pronouncitation is a bit jarring.
Especially because you make a big deal of saying family and place names with perfect accents.
Please take a breath between sentences. I really wanted to watch this but the superspeed computer voice narration was off-putting. 😢
I can put up with the accent, but every time you say "irun" I can't stand it.
Happens to the best of us
