The same day they also wrote one for Andy that also went to #1. So yeah, they wrote 3 #1 hits in one afternoon. That is when you know you're good lol ;)
Yeah this is yet another super song by the Bee Gees, they didn’t get tired of making hits. Good reaction 👍🏻 The older gentleman speaking at the end was Sir George Martin, The Beatles’ producer.
@@wesleydowd1933wrong! Barry is still alive; he just turned 77. He has said in at least one interview that he doesn’t know why he’s alive and his brothers aren’t, since he was the eldest.
I love watching you react to everyone but especially The Bee Gees! your love for them is so obvious and genuine, I find that very nice to watch and awesome to see your excitement. Of all of the young people I watch you are one of the young women I watch and I find myself coming back to you just to see your pure joy when you watch these three brothers, I can't wait to see you watching their younger brother Andy! I have Andy's albums and sorry to say I don't have any of the Bee Gees but there was just something about Andy that made it so that I could see spending the money for the albums. I wish I had been thinking back then, I would have all of their albums too, even if I had to go without meals sometimes to get them.
There is an interesting video how they made this song. barry wanted a noise like an explosion and finally he made it with his mouth and the microphone, you can hear it twice at the end of the song. Bee Gees - "Tragedy" - Making of (from Spirits Having Flown TV Special)
Thanks for this reaction @Sarah- The Begees are probably my fav group next to The Beatles. Please react to there song You Win Again with Phill Collins playing drums. It's great.
I did meet them on a weekly bases . Sometimes, newer fans don’t realize that the “BeeGees” are 3 brothers. Maurice and Robin are twins (the shorter two). Barry, usually in the middle and taller of the three is the older brother. BeeGee’s…..or BG’s, stands for “Brothers Gibb”. Their last name is Gibb. They had another brother named Andy who passed away years ago. Sadly, Maurice and Robin have both also passed away, leaving only Barry left. This was one of the greatest performing groups of a wonderful era. You should listen to more of their very extensive library. Every song is perfectly performed. No auto tune for these guys.
I love your enthusiastic reaction! One of my top 10 tracks by this group, but I do prefer the 1979 studio recording because it's got all the nuances of orchestration and the twins are around 29-30 and Barry is just about 33, all in youthful voices! This video is their later version. My problem with this is that Maurice is barely visible!
It's unfortunate that at some point, Barry kind of lost his 70's voice. Never quite figured it out but his original 70's recordings and performances were far better than the later ones.
@@toby9999 I think that when he developed a bad back from all the tennis in the late 70's through 80's (Maurice talks about Barry's back troubles in the late 80's through 90's), every time he took a deep breath the pain was horrible. Watch him spread his legs a bit more and brace himself when he sings-- the sweating and pain in his eyes that the smiles don't quite mask, and the constant motion on stage during some stints. An operation just made it worse for him and his arthritis spread. He loved to do concert tours, but was forced to do one night only concerts with two or more weeks for recovery; otherwise, Barry said that no insurance would cover the concerts. If you look at his right hand, he's permanently dislocated his thumb joint as one effect of the terrible arthritis, and he's been seen rubbing his left hip and right upper breast near his shoulder to ease joint pain. He has had specially made a line of light-weight guitars (the blue one's his fave). Anyway, I can't see him doing anything more than some brief warm ups to be able to manage the falsetto. You know, as thin as age and illness has thinned some notes in his range, he is always pitch perfect, on point.
Bee Gees did a lot of what was called disco music. Beautiful, catchy, and above all danceable. Because disco was SO ubiquitous in the '80s many got so tired of it, the whole genre was dissed as fluff. You have not done much of Phil Collins' music. If you like this you may LOVE his song 'Susudio'.
You need to check out all their kids singing…please don’t turn out the lights by The Gibb Collective. Even Andy’s daughter sings in it. Their harmonies almost match their father’s!!!!
Written on the same day as "Too much heaven" that is crazy!!!

Thank you, I was JUST wondering!! Sir George Martin
Sarah, I really enjoyed watching you grooving to another great Bee Gees song! ❤️from Ohio, USA!
Thank you Chuck!🙂
To let everyone know that all of the beegees passed away
@@SarahDenglerYes! I love your reactions. They are the way I feel about the BeeGee's music.❤

I'll give you my quote about music. Great music will always grab you and move you no matter what decade you were born.
Sarahhhh, you have to listen to the Original. Barry's voice in full power!!!!!! This is 20 years later.
you should see them in concert, I watched a concert one time, and the seats were enough to fill 4 football stadiums and the entire place was packed!!!

Sarah, excellent... you struck gold on this one. Possibly my favorite from these guys. Thank you 🙏☮🧡
You should listen to Massachusetts and I've got to get a message to you . Robin Gibb sings lead on these . He is fantastic .
A great song like all their others. Love seeing your reactions!!
"Fanny be tender with my heart" by the Bee Gees. This song is another banger
Lovin it from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦

For a real blast try islands in the steam written by the beegees sung by Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton.😍
Imagine being so prolific you write TWO top 10s, Tragedy and Too Much Heaven, in the same afternoon!
So no was going to mention the fact that russell Crowe was in the back killing it on the guitar 😂
Ain't no way- 😂

There is a video about the making of Tragedy. It's fascinating.
Awesome! You should try listening to the original recording. It's really great!
Please do some songs with Robin or Maurice singing lead too, like Bodyguard or Closer than Close. You are missing out on their beautiful voices..
Definitely Closer than close or man in the middle!!!! Love Maurice’s voice!!!
The last gentleman on the video was BEATLES producer Sir George Martin.
This wasnt one of their top tier hits but its still a damn good song. The BeeGees never made a bad song❤
The guy speaking at the end with white hair and black suit looks like The Tall Man from Phantasm. lol

You should check out the song "NEW YORK MINING DISASTER 1941". IT'S about a true story.❤
Fun reaction!!! Please react to MASSACHUSETTS Live 1989.
VERY GOOD!! REACT MADDLEY BEE GEES LIVE MELBORE 1989.
try listening to queen, live aid concert at wembley 1985
Wish disco was back, sure beats the crap today.!!😉
Steps covered this song ..

👍👌👌
the best version is not this....is the original one made in 1979 by them
React to ‘Neil deGrasse Tyson explains big numbers'.
Help ICHKERIA
The most irritating song of the disco era. Instant radio station switch.
Not the best version of this song to me the original his falsetto was better
Yeah, this is a bad version. Play the original.
Consider that THIS banging performance is the BAD version.
Just serves to emphasize how good they really were.
