I refuse to believe this is Jack Barton’s first ever game VA gig. Absolutely EVERYTHING about his lines, from the haughty indignation when we first breach his doomer cave, the surprise when he realizes we’re Tarnished, the shock and horror when he questions Marika’s motivations, the resolve when he declares his challenge, and the desperation, despair, and rage in his voice when he unleashes the Abyssal Serpent, to his pleading, defeated betrayal when he curses the woman who should’ve been his mother… even as someone who’s not well versed in the art form, it painted Messmer in an unbelievably realistic and human light. For all his horrible crimes, all I’m left with is a deep sense of empathy and pity for Messmer. I don’t think a single voice actor in all of From’s games has managed to say so much with so few lines

Shaun Dooley is actually goated. Fromsoft never ceases to amaze with their casting of voice actors, tons of new fantastic voice actors.
