    To get cleaner edges try putting tape on first then mark the cut line on the tape, then cut. Also make sure you use a nice sharp blade with plenty teeth. You will get a nicer edge with less tear-out

    It’s unfortunate that you did all that work to have two people sleeping in a 4’ wide space to stay with the confines of the trailer frame. It’s not much of a stretch to measure a queen mattress which most couples are comfortable sleeping on. Even just extending the floor to the outside dimensions of the tires would make a big difference in sleeping space.

      It also makes a big difference in materials needed and construction simplicity. It's always a compromise.

    Thanks for your effort in editing and posting. YT algorithm gave me this. Looks good so far, now I have to go to your channel and see more.

    What program did you use to draw out schematics of trailer?

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  7 місяців тому

      Autocad but there are lots of free ones. Like Sketchup.

    Approximately how many hours per day or week did you spend on your trailer?

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Рік тому

      Probably about 2 months if it was 8 hours per day. But I did it here and there, evenings and weekends.

      @@MotherlodeMotors Thanks, that helps me in planning my tear drop build.

    I know you were trying to conserve wood and costs, but it would have been easier to cut the angles on the plywood instead of "attaching" the angle piece to the edge of the plywood.

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Рік тому

      Sure but then I would have needed a piece of plywood longer than 8'?

    Ever tried a scarf joint with a belt sander ? Makes a sweet join with no visible hardware

    Hey! Just watched your video where you created a lamp from an aircraft cylinder. I just picked up an old cylinder and I’m going to try and follow along with your DIY video. Is there any chance you could share the dxf file from when you 3D printed the bottom? Thank you so much for your time!

      I don’t think I have it anymore but it is a very basic shape and you can create it in any of the free modeling programs easily.

    What program did you use to get a cut sheet for your ply?

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  2 роки тому +1

      AutoCAD LT, but you could use Fusion 360 with a hobby license and do the same thing for free.

    Enjoying watch your build. What program are you using to design the trailer?

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  2 роки тому

      AutoCAD but I have a license and it's what I know. There's easier and cheaper stuff to learn on. Try Sketchup.
