It's so cool that George still remembered his part of the song. Even with all the problems they had during those years, it is obvious George loved being a Beatle. God bless him.
George's love for his Beatles days was sometimes muted, but it really comes through in this clip. The thing is it's just a b-side, and yet it's one of the most renowned three part harmony the Beatles did on record, and the Lennon leads at the end are among his very best.
People who watch this are gifted to see the human George, enjoying his craft, his youth , the fun of a young man and his friends making music, for the world to hear and enjoy.
0:16 you can really see that in his eyes - this reservation that he tried to force on himself isn't fooling anyone, he had many fond memories from that time and we can see it
He (as well as Lennon) found the adulation the Beatles received a tad too much, thinking they were only a damn good band. My impression is that he respected he wasn't in the same songwriting league as Lennon-McCartney, but rarely received the credit as a mucician that he deserved. That jangle in the back is Harrison and it is the song.
Years ago, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) was asked about why John was such an effective vocalist, and he replied "pain...there's pain in his voice". Given Wilson's own tough childhood, and Lennon's, I could see a kindredness there . Some of our best singers and songwriters carried a lot of pain, which helped them achieve higher levels of artistry.
@@kingarthur4ever Wow. That's so true about John's voice. I've always felt a pain and raw vulnerability in his voice that's drawn me to him as a vocalist. It's the kind of thing that really set him apart in the band and it's the reason why he's my favorite singer in the Beatles.
What an amazing video, I don't know about anyone else seeing it but he was glued to that monitor. You can see the love in his eyes for those guys and that song.None of them did solo what they did in the Beatles. How can you be anything but proud when you watch it? what an amazing band and the impact they had on music is phenominal.
You got it perfectly! He appears to be nostalgic, but then a few times a genuine laughter and smile come out---then look at his eyes. They tell the story.
Bill Wren Not so sure. John and George particularly had amazing post Beatle records..And then Paul's longevity is quite amazing. Still selling out huge venues on a nightly basis with worldwide tours every few years, just incredible when you think about it!
As a beatlemanic from day one I have to inform we loved all of them. People who came later likes to compare them and even classify them. That iwas not the Bealles feeling, though we had our favorites. However we loved the four. We would sing we love the beatles, we love you John, we love you Ringo, we love you George, we love you Paul. Beatles were and stil are an unity. That's whey they are unique. No other band is like that.
I totally agree -- it's funny how in nearly each UA-cam video featuring The Beatles, you'll read all the comments about this one was better than that one. But as George Martin said, when you got the four together, there was this inexplicable chemistry that created magic. As for this clip, I love the look of fondness George has as he watches himself and his bandmates from all those years ago. "Good song", he says, amid the laughter.
The Beatles were , are and will always be the best. No group till today can be compared to the Fab 4. Their Harmony and their music is awesome.... True Legends.
This is precious and priceless. Hearing George laugh and sing along, shows glimpses of his fond memories of the band. I've heard John never thought he had a good singing voice. In this song and so many others we can all hear how gifted he was.
OMG the power of nostalgia when you're in the greatest band ever on the face of the Earth. George is so lovely, still singing along, still recollecting
The first time I heard This Boy I was six years old. It moved me then, and I felt the pain in the song of losing someone. I am sixty-six now, and the song still touches me. I think it is my favorite Beatle Song. They were magical.
This video is proof of how much he truly loved being in the Beatles. I know he would always say that it would have been bad to think of the past and the Beatles we then and stayed there, but I think in his heart he truly loved being in the band.
I tear up watching George watching himself. I miss John and George. I also love the song. I developed my singing voice because of the music in our house as a kid and it was 90% beatles.
This Boy - the song brings back so many memories for me back in 1964 when I was 7 years old and I played that Meet the Beatles album over and over. But hearing it again now brings back how they were really at the top of what they had been trying to do - make big hits, be famous, etc. - and I think George might have remembered it that way too. No one can really know what it was like being them at that point in their lives - in our lives - no one but the four of them. It's great seeing all these memories preserved. I'll say one thing, it's hard to really see anyone else on the pop music at that time that was on their level - even then. And of course, they'd go much higher, creatively. The song This Boy still captures that innocence. Most of what they did was up tempo then, but this song showed there was much more to them.
George really showed his love of the group and he had happy memories of them. You can tell by his smile and his eyes, then he even sings along. Rest In Heaven 🙏❤️
When I'm depressed and feeling like my whole day is shitty, I often come to this to just smile and see someone enjoy his past with friends. Also doesn't hurt to sing along with it.
"She Loves You" for me, tops in the category of their finest up-tempo and fun song. But as great as that one is, my co-favorite is George's lead on the fantastic, "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You." Such an upper, fun, exciting, and at the end, a love song too! "This Boy" has their best harmony, with "If I Fell" a very close 2nd to This Boy." TB is more of a wistful, and sadder song compared to "She Loves You" or IHJTDWY, taking TB down just a notch.

George is so beautiful as a person
TheReverantChoir so is your pfp
Andy Aleman this boy
if you listen closely you can hear me sobbing
lyn me too DD:
lyn Sorry, can't hear you.
Sad loss of one of the best musicians of our time.....
RIP George
RIP John
Great musicians. Great talent.
They're gone but not their music.
George's laughter and smile is "something" that will always get me through the day ❤
He looks really cuddly in that sweater.💖💖💖💖💖
Same :')
The thing is it's just a b-side, and yet it's one of the most renowned three part harmony the Beatles did on record, and the Lennon leads at the end are among his very best.
felpin : You must remember this: Beatles b-sides were still some of the best music ever recorded.
People who watch this are gifted to see the human George, enjoying his craft, his youth , the fun of a young man and his friends making music, for the world to hear and enjoy.
That's really cool!
George was going back in time. He was digging the memories.
Yes he is
0:16 you can really see that in his eyes - this reservation that he tried to force on himself isn't fooling anyone, he had many fond memories from that time and we can see it
Nice to see George smile at Beatles stuff as usually he's so anti-Beatle.
He just can't stop Beatle-ing
I think he just hated the fact of being so overshadowed by John and Paul. Also he didn't like screaming fans.
I think he was absolutely on par with Lennon/McCartney's songwriting abilities
Before 'Something' ? No, he wasn't. I admire Harrison very dearly, but before Abbey Road, he was definitely a tier below the other two.
Deep inside you can see how emotional he is because remember that time when the four of them were together and made those wonderful songs.
This made me cry happy tears. I honestly love this video. I love his laugh when he sees himself. It's the cutest laugh ever.
_HE LOOKS SO HAPPY MY HEART IS MELTING_
I can't even imagine the memories that he was flooded with watching that clip.
Olivia over his right shoulder looking on lovingly
Is that her good eyesight I did not picked up on that thanks
That's not Olivia. They met in 1976, and this is way before that.
@@34hedgehog how is this way before 76? This is her for sure lol
It is olivia
@@34hedgehog I think that's Mike Gibbons from Badfinger as well?
It's like Michelangelo looking at the Pieta, and saying... "Yes. It's not bad. It's a fairly good attempt."
All great singers. But John’s voice carried something special and undefinable. It reached into the soul of this listeners.
Excellent point King, thanks for Brian Wilson info and comparison
@@kingarthur4ever I have your pain right here. F0ol.

damnnnn, first he invents the selfie. then he fucking invents reaction videos!!! what a god. I always knew he had foresight
Bill Wren
i actually think All Things Must Pass surpassed the Beatles because it had a higher message.
Bill Wren Not so sure. John and George particularly had amazing post Beatle records..And then Paul's longevity is quite amazing. Still selling out huge venues on a nightly basis with worldwide
tours every few years, just incredible when you think about it!
I love that he's watching himself, he looks so happy!
For a brief moment you can feel the love and the memories rushing back to him.
I can’t stop replaying the “doo, doo, doo” at 0:20 . Just perfection
I cannot sufficiently express in words how happy I am that this video exists.
0:30 is gold.
This was great but sad it was cut short!
like his life...like his life
As a beatlemanic from day one I have to inform we loved all of them.
You are right. I am a Beatlemaniac since 1985. And I love them all. But John is my favorite...
The Beatles were , are and will always be the best. No group till today can be compared to the Fab 4. Their Harmony and their music is awesome.... True Legends.
That's wrong, most Beatle fans- even here in Liverpool before they were famous- would have a favourite.
@@JohnCee754 Yeah!
I love that George acknowledges that this is great song by John.
John's little face he pulls at 0:43 and George's laugh give me fuzzy feelings.
bruh yes i- YES
Great, great, great, great video! I love the way George watches it: very fondly. Then he says, "Good song". Million dollars.
I am beginning to form the impression that you like this Video....:)
This is precious and priceless. Hearing George laugh and sing along, shows glimpses of his fond memories of the band. I've heard John never thought he had a good singing voice. In this song and so many others we can all hear how gifted he was.
I love his laugh
His laugh is music to my ears. God bless George Harrison.
i cant help but love this man
EASY TO L♡VE.I've have had a crush on GEORGE Since 1964
I just love that George's smile is so genuine during this video
when john goes in... soul crushing
OMG the power of nostalgia when you're in the greatest band ever on the face of the Earth. George is so lovely, still singing along, still recollecting
George’s smile was always the best - and there is no way you cannot like this song with those harmonies.
Seeing him sing along is just so precious
He's like nostalgic, proud, happy and all the other things
The first time I heard This Boy I was six years old. It moved me then, and I felt the pain in the song of losing someone.
I am sixty-six now, and the song still touches me.
I think it is my favorite Beatle Song. They were magical.
Why do we have to get old, how is it that we have to just remember..
Oh we get it's in your head you might as well enjoy it
0:18 I love that little hum after "someday"
He can't resist singing along! And laughing. So adorable!
Please correct the title to: George Harrison doing the world’s first reaction video. Another thing the Beatles did first lol
Also selfies and photoboms.
The Beatles didn't do anything first. They copied, and they did it well.
@@Macca-rb5ok First theme album, first music video, first feedback, first di-box use, first demand on long period studio work etc. the list goes on.

His laugh was so beautiful it actually brought tears to my eyes. It sounded the same as it did in the Beatle days.
God Bless George, "The Quiet Beatle ". Rest In Peace, Dear Angel. 🕯
I'm from Argentina, I'm 77 years old, I don't know any English, but when I listen to them, I know that I was born in the right time!!!!
BEAUTIFUL to hear u say that!! That’s what we all feel!! I’m around your age, also!
this is a great clip of George ...
..Oh..Priceless.! You can see the excitement and pride in his face. Like Ringo said: They were four guys that really loved each other.
George being delighted by the beatles like everyone else!
What a beautiful soul.
Rest in peace, George.
Thanks for still listening to these songs
lol isn't that all of us , whenever we see younger videos of ourselves ? 😁😂
you are younger in all the videos of yourself...

Unless you're watching a live recording
*After thinking about it I realised there would be delay even if it's in the micro seconds so you're still right lol*
My thoughts exactly! Thank you for the comment, lol.
Truly my favorite part of this entire movie. You can tell he's kinda embarrassed and trying to play it cool...but that he also LOVES it!
George played down the Beatles so hard but this video shows how emotional he was watching him/them. We always knew that, George.
This video made me smile so much
George's smile, his voice and his laugh just melts my heart! RIP Lovely man
George always so humble and his great honesty, a real human being.
I love the part he starts singing along
Same
Always loved that boy George!!! Nice to see George happy and that smile is beautiful.
Beatles songs never go out of style they are gems.
Thanks for still listening to these songs
0:29 the best moment in this video...
why because of his laugh its so funny:)HAHA aaahhh haha
An EVER-Endearing/WONDERFUL moment of PERFECTION which simply "Pierces One's Soul" Sensey!!......
George really showed his love of the group and he had happy memories of them. You can tell by his smile and his eyes, then he even sings along. Rest In Heaven 🙏❤️
John: blind as a bat and intelligent as a dolphin!
I like the fact that George liked it even then, saying 'Good song', which it is.
"This Boy" has their best harmony, with "If I Fell" a very close 2nd to This Boy." TB is more of a wistful, and sadder song compared to "She Loves You" or IHJTDWY, taking TB down just a notch.
i can see in george eyes that is he ia happy!
