Wow this is a deep introspective of a dominance hierarchy system of propaganda coming from an unsuspecting place. The lyrics are deep here. Hard to believe this was 93 i was rocking out hard to this and the swamp song ten yrs ago but i think its even more relevant to many poeple today. If you ever watched any interviews with Maynard, he claims that none of his song lyrics have meaning. It's not deep at all. It's random bullshit he came up with on the fly. The poem in the middle of the song is the guitarists creation... There might be meaning in it.

Most song writers like to leave the subject of lyrics subjective and keep it so many people can draw similar and different meanings.. So it's not a surprise he said that if you know anything about music and song writing. The song is called Bottom. It describes the feelings of being at the bottom of something 🙃. But.... you know .. Everyone has thier own depth of perspective and understanding..

Imagine growing up Southern Pentecost and you're also the blackest of the Black Sheep of a family of angels in the strictest religion in America. I already have an anger problem. From what I'm told and I guess defending yourself is a crime or something. So I'm already on the bottom level of the heaven corporation. Barely a janitor if you know what I mean. And then I hear tool. It's the most horrible amazing thing. I've heard it's probably gonna be the last straw. That keeps my butt out of the streets of gold but. I never really thought they would accept me. I'm not a bad person. I'm just never good enough for anyone. It's funny because this comment started out as a joke. But it kinda makes me feel bad now. That I'm just a quiet normal person. And that makes me unworthy. Of happiness in some way I don't know how a group of people can hate me when I don't even say a word. I listen to music with my headphones on and I Even in my own family home when I go over for dinner and my siblings are there. Everyone looks at me like I'm disgusting. I kind of wish I didn't listen to this song tonight. Alright, to comment, it's actually pretty depressing
