The fact the master engineers stack absolutely melted my mind when I first tried this. Absolutely great fun
Overkill is underrated, innit?
Perfectly balanced 👌
Honestly I thought they fixed the Master Engineer buffs stacking after Legend reviewed the Engineer+Trollhammers Doomstack in Warhammer 2, but it seems they "unfixed" it sometime after. I remember it not working when Warhammer 3 came out. The Trollhammer Doomstack probably works again, as well, they might as well get up to artillery range with 5-6 Engineers.
Can't wait for the video then 🎉🎉
There's a commentor I didn't inspect
"For my Dawi doomstack I'll have uh... artillery spam!"
"How original"
"With extra master engineers!"
"Daring today, aren't we."
Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Yes I like irony
Grapeshot is a new toy, you'd have to be an idiot to think this wasn't going to be among the first doomstacks shown off. But don't worry, I know you're just upset because this isn't a thunderbarge stack. I can guarantee you that's coming soon too.
The Master engineers aren't thbroken part. It's just ammunition and dmg... Which doesn't change the effect that much. Dwarf engineers are tame (compared to times when they buffed range) the grapeshot is very powerful though
@@davidthane9002 hear me out, they might be thogoracki, but replace some of the master engineers with warlock engineers since they provide range and damage buffs from their auras

Hate myself but that got me :D
Thanks for the chuckle
Ye like that one
I cannon't believe you just said that!
@andrewverbovy4615 Well played, my good sir!
The grapeshot cannons obliterating the chorfs army by missing a single entity over and over was hilarious
Intentional or not... Its very dwarf.
I am not afraid when the grapeshot cannons are aiming at me. I am afraid when they are aiming 10 metres next to me.
can empire also grape shot?
@@stuntman083 yes they can with Elspeth

for years the dwarfs have watched the youngling races dabble in ranged warfare. Now its time for the Dawi to show them all how its done

And that is how Malakai keeps his Book of Grudges empty.

Rest in Peace Organ Guns.
You are irrelevant, but not forgotten. Thank you for your service.
For all other dwarf campaigns organ guns are still some of the best artillery in the game, just malakai campaigns makes them a bit underwhelming compared to the meme that is grape shot canons.
@@liljuggernaut2471Agreed, its like complaining that Grom makes all the Orc infantry useless because his gobbos are so good.
Wait what if they add canister shot to Oregon guns to make them super blunderbusses?

I want a goblin hewer doomstack. I'm gonna have to try that.
19 thunderbarges
@@perrymeril technically that would be 20 thunderbarges.
I love the ship mechanic, and even more-so when its a perma-summon on every battle in his radius.
@@cassiecaradoc2070 you can get it dirt cheap too
The thing is that grapeshot proyectiles should be smaller than the cannonballs but if you pause the game and zoom in the cannons are just shooting like 6-8 regular cannon balls.
Dwarf engineering at its finest!
I also think they have too high splash radius. Even 6 cannon balls shouldn't do this much area damage.
Dwarf grapes are the size of oranges.
Yeah good.
yeah its cool and awesome
"Chorfs Artillerie is insane"
Malakai: "Hold my Bugmans"
As close to the 10/10 doomstack as the dwarfs can make......famous last words before 1000 save files with 19 thunderbarges are sent in.
It would probably be more of a 15 thunderbarrages, since you would want engis on this.
Thumderbarges would lose points on recruitment.
But I honestly don't know what could beat a thunderbarge doomstack.
@@sentinelgs7416 Two stacks of Thunderbarges!

@@alfonsocyrusjoshua9551 You can craft a set of armor in the forge that gives your heroes/lords stealth and keep stealth while shooting : D Good luck clearing their ground before the barges annihilate you.
The real horror of grapeshot. You run to within half of the canon's range then break and run away turning your backs forcing the retreating army to cover that same ground again.
The only retreat is to finish the charge.
That’s why Winters told Dike to keep moving forward.
"Close Victory" Lmao
Prolly because a lot of balance of power is held in ammo
@@iain-duncan Which is nonsense for this army in particular not to mention the fact that ammo is fully replenished between battles
they got extremely close to the cannonballs those 'raki did
Algorithm doesn’t seem to understand well. Before the zombie stack was nerfed for Ghorst, I fought battles with 0 casualties and it told me Pyrrhic victory. Sure I used some magic but not really that much.
Friendship ended with Organ guns
Now Grapeshot Cannons is my best friend
But am I glad to see a dwarfen artillery being really at the top of the Old world.
Close Victory? Makes sense to me. It was a victory and a couple of Skaven almost got close.
Wouldn't that be "Almost Close Victory"?
It's a bug when you absolutely stomp harder than the game expects you to it defaults to "close victory" as you've gone way above the heroic victory threshold and I'm guessing "close victory" is the fallback for when no other conditions can apply.
Close victory solely because the number of cannonballs fired ended up costing more in labor and resources than any amount of damage any amount of skavenslaves could have done in their lifetime.
Time for a warhammer rendition of "les miserables"

Something I never thought I'd hear legend say, "This puts the Skaven weapon teams to shame"
I just hope Malakai never stumbles upon some Cathayan army with missile mirror in their arsenal.
Sack like a peasant spears to the rest of the army for each cannon self-killed? Time consuming but could work
lmfao now I really wanna see this tested

Grapeshot cannons are all I ever wanted from dwarf artillery.
Congrats CA, this is how to make your single player game campaign fun.
Dwarf engineering at its finest!
3:34 Some cannon lose some hp by shooting their cannonball. One of the cons of the grapeshot cannon is its Team kill potential. The first time I use it and my idle frontline dwarf warrior got totally wiped out by the grapeshot
I love the dying scream of Scavens in the morning
Fuck Skaven. They can go fight wood elves for all of eternity and leave the rest of us only the fun battles.
Now THIS looks like a really fun doomstacks. Not all doomstacks look fun. This one looks incredibly fun.
Never before have we seen a grape shot so grapey.
I was doing a coop campaign and I unlocked the Grapeshot for Canons, the first time we saw it fire and absolutely one shot Hoeth Swordmasters we both audibly gasped so hard my throat hurted the whole afternoon
The goblins yelling in horror and anguish as they get absolutely grated was the funniest ever.
That was an excellent Armstrong Gun and Gattling Gun Fall of the Samurai Doomstack. Looking good!
Who would have thought grapes could do so much damage.
The reason why you are seeing different stats from some of the cannons is due to there currently being a bug with the cannons you get from adventures being buffed differently from the rest of the normally recruited cannons. The adventure cannons get "Dig In!" buff that only flamecannons are supposed to get for some reason
The fucking anger the Dwarfs had over the short jokes that lead them to this path. Wow.
Upscaled blunderbusses
Glad to see the doomstack videos coming back, thanks!
My first battle with these cannons I legit giggled like a school girl as I mulched hordes of norscans in a discord call showing my buddy the game. What a beautiful addition 😂
40 seconds, legend. 40 seconds from the start of the main engagement to the victory message
Grape shot is the most over powered s**t i ever seen in wh3. Those cannons actually have a use now. 😮😮😮
Did you see thunder barge?
When you typed appropriately, I think you miss spelled it overpowered - about time the dawie got some balance
Malakai: Introducing grape shot cannons! Able to mow down enemy infantry like you're playing Napoleo-

ahhhh Dawi firepower at the finest, what a great sight
Doomstacks are back baby!!!!
Glorious. Waited many years for this Dwarf update
I find that this army goes hard together with "Battle Hymn of the Republic" or Tchaikovky's "1812 Overture"
Good lord! That Chaos Dwarf army just melted.
Most obvious counter would be scaven with menace below, gutter runners and assassins. Maybe steamtanks, since their frontal missle resistance is pretty impressive.
Most one-sided counter would be Mother Ostankyas giving the cannons the Whiff of Madness(giving them rampage) debuff.
This could also be a nice test for ironbreakers with Shieldwall of Gromril.
Also Shadowgrave and Cathaians with missile mirror
Haha awesome. Now this is Dwarf firepower properly represented!
That one Bull Centaur charging in and when he turns around majority of the troops are already dead.
IRL, grapeshot had an effective range of about 500-700 meters/yards. Although ranges vary by the size of the cannon. Larger cannons would have an increase in their effective range, smaller, the opposite
my jaw DROPPED. so excited for this, I hope CA doesn't scale it down. perfect the way it is
Ape Titan moment
EDIT: In regards to who can beat this army - Tsarina Katarin with a couple of stalking Snow Leopards might have a shot, but only in the hands of the player. AI is not going to cut it.
Almost any army of rats through an ambush
@@user-eb9fs5cf8lthat is true, though I was mostly thinking about a standup fight
@@user-eb9fs5cf8l Bold words for a rat who has put himself directly into grapeshot range.
Thanx-glory Horn One, that they can't shoot 360° @@TheRealXartaX
Even then, if you spaced out your master engineers properly, you could probably keep vision on the leopards long enough for the cannons to kill.
Tzeench teleport stance is the only thing i can think of that's a threat
Skaven nuke with mb could also suck but yeah, not much to worry about
Legend, Napoleon features canister shot, not grape. Grapeshot is an intermediate shot type between roundshot and canister with longer range and fewer projectiles than canister.
In terms of armies that could beat this, Chaos Dwarfs can get stalk on their flying monsters...
and LoS can work pretty heavily against this build.
“Close victory”
Even in distance it would make no sense!
Canons with 77 ammo are canons recruited with the adventure
Just like how it works in real life, the more engineers u have in a room the better your machines run!
The only armies I would consider being able to beat this is an army with a vast amount of fast units like war hounds or wolf riders and stalking units (legend touches on this). That is only if they manage to get to the cannons, terrain would be another thing to consider. But I genuinely feel on the campaign map there would be very few, if none, that would be able to take this on without over whelming numbers.
Edit I would also think a large amount of fast flying units if they went straight at the flanks would possibly be a counter.
I'm looking forward to the Thunderbark doomstack video.
"This is a motherfucking Doomstack"
- LegendofTotalWar, 2024
Well said, man.
Even flyers are going to get ripped apart by the grapeshot..
First time seeing artillery annihilated units to the last man lmao
Counter proposal: Bale Tauruses are cute good at taking down artillery crews. Add stalking, barrier, healing and here you are.
And so began the era of Dwarven War Crimes.
I'm convinced people think warcrimes are when you kill your enemy very well.
7:12
When Legend just casually presses the Fire At Will button and the entire enemy army is routing ten seconds later.
The dwarves had to come up with *something* to combat the beastmen in their machine-gun towers!
I like giving my engineers gatekeeper's hammers since it applies frostbite to their bullets. Stacking the slow from that with flash bomb can basically bring an enemy unit down to almost 0 speed for 10+ seconds. Very fun when I did a thunderer/artillery only WH2 campaign
07:10. That single unit went from full HP to nothing in 2 volleys.
Reminded me of that Shogun 2 FOTS Armstrong Guns barrage on a single General Bodyguard unit you did a couple of months ago 😂.
Malakai was like "I have no enemies" but he took it literally
Ah yes, I was waiting for this video.
The power of the cannon is unsurpassed!!!
"I'm drawing blanks" well you certainly weren't firing them that's for sure
Thanks for the video
the guy who sent this found the perfect enemy army and map for blasting/big kill numbers
I find the dwarves as dwarf players that dwarves are not boring. Dwarves are rather defensive to play, and I really enjoy seeing how the enemy bounces wave after wave off the weaponised iron wall. Slow but stable as opposed to fast but fragile.
Shame the Age of Reckoning mechanic is basically anti-that.
Grudges for the Grudge Book! Beer for the Beer hall!
@@14sixtyone Yeah, I've played about 50 rounds so far with the new age of reckoning and feel a bit mixed on the system. Beards in belts!
Maybe fast flying units, but tbh think the heroes could stop them. This looks awesome!
the fireborn summon for the chaos dwarves could wreck those cannons.
I'd imagine a large fast airforce can probably close the distance on the cannons. Sometimes, you can catch the Highelves with a full stack of phoenixes and dragons. However, if the AI gets distracted and attacks the engineers instead of charging the cannons, it's still an easy clap.
This looks so fun!
What can beat cannons doom stack (I’m going to assume that both sides are controlled by a player)
-Pack master doom stack
-leadership bomb doomstack (especially now that wood elves have unlimited heroes from Tamarkhan trait)
-stalking flying wizard with 200% spell intensity (I believe an overcasted final transmutation destroy every cannons in range but I haven’t tried Gelt campaign yet)
-Malus with sword of Khaine and Nemesis Crown (provided that he properly dodge the cannons shot)
-units with stalk and snipe
-fast stalking cavalry with stalk
The grapeshots is the kind of OP we want. Its super fun to use
cant wait for a "kirov airship" styled thunderbarge doomstack :P
I agree that stocking would probably be a counter to this and maybe fast flying single entities would be difficult to Target as well. I think giving the engineers to shotgun upgrade would let them hold the line better even though the sniper upgrade is generally more useful.
Best counter to this are probably unit spawning abilities like menace below, fireborn and ushabti.
Won't kill your army ofc, but will disrupt and potentially get rid of single cannons.
can't wait for the next DLC, introducing green skin engineers, vampire engineers, tomb skin engineers, and lizard man engineers
With choke point battles, those Grapeshot is absolutely nasty.
Yeah grapeshot cannons are beautiful, I took out Zhaar Nagruund with a Full stack in it using nothing but 4 cannons and the spirit of grugni. it was glorious.
Love the dakka!
that's 10 out of 10 exept for skaven ambush !
"No devastation like Ikit's dev- WHAT THE FUCK-FUCK IS THIS!?!?"
I think what really puts these over the top is the fact that Malakai can easily get the grapeshot upgrade online by turn 7-8, while having four units of cannons between his starting forces and the "free" adventure units.
This is good. But i think Gelt is the ultimate army. Get 9 wizards. Get an Empire captain. Get an Engineer Hero. Get the rank 3 special building in your starting province. Engineer Hero runs skirmsih mode on a regular horse with a speed banner. The wizards and Empire captain get pegasus. You fly in, Cast Pans inpenetrable pelt on the way in. Land in the middle of the enemy. Nuke them to oblivion with your spells. Drop transmutation of lead to make you immortal. Then overcast final transmutation to kill any SEM/trolls. I took Lokhir on his dragon with a second full stack supporting him at turn 30 or so with this(and i am not even close to finished). 10+ darkshards. I would fight 10 stacks of rank 9 dragons with this army when its finished. It wouldn't break a sweat.
Dear Sigmar, the Dawi are now by far the biggest power creep faction in TWWH history.
Without a doubt the fastest killing Doomstack Ive seen.
Cant wait to see you stream this and have it be 6 hours of people asking when the cannonstack is coming
Malakai really did just look at the ogres' ironblasters and said "but what if 4 of them"
The only thing that comes to mind in terms of counter is Cathay Cannons. They outrange the grapeshot and they seem to be more accurate than other cannons in their class. They have ways to speed up reload as well.
Summons would also work - like I could see most Chaos factions just dumping a load of demons on them. You wouldn't be able to get all of them that way though.
dopamine hittin harder than this cannons
I think if you get into a fight with an empire army that has a lot of steam tanks would be an issue because of the ballistic plating thing , also wood elfs with stalking would be pretty hard to deal, they have a long range, but its hard to find huge numbers of those units in any army so if you careful it should all be manageable.
