This was fun to watch after trying skarbrand's immortal empires campaign and seeing myself for the first time just how ridiculously fun his campaign is once you realize, literally never stop attacking with skarbrand, and a lucky early banner of swiftness from the drawfs behind wurzag, by turn 64 skarbrand had made a one man warpath from his capital all the way to valkias front door screaming for her to show up for a duel
This went very well, you are pretty good so its kind of insane to see how much its possible to improve for you as well. The skill ceiling in this game is actually insane.
Its less skillset and more abusing the AI, so knowledge of how the AI works. Knowing that they will split their forces stupidly if you attack from 2 sides, knowing the distance you have to be ahead of your archers for Skarbrand to not just dive them and instead just sit there face-tanking arrows, and effectively corner camping with the main force. This wouldn't have been a win against another player, even an average player. It was interesting watching the really lowly skeletal archers pincushion him into submission- which Khorne considers especially cowardly and dishonorable.

I killed him on Hard/Hard mode with Slaanesh by jumping in when he attacked an ally. It wasn’t even my main army that jumped in, either. My ally was nurgle’s main army. Pyrrhic victory auto resolve. After he respawned, I sent two one-town vassals to attack him at the same time, then his kingdom was wiped out 5 turns later.
Tomb Kings can bring 4 full stacks of their best units vs a peasant archer and still get "valiant defeat" in auto resolve. Dwarfs can turn up with a half health catapult and auto resolve vs the entirety of chaos.
Ive never played this one but if the ai is anything like the ai in RTW all you need is fast moving calvary that can out maneuver the enemy army. you split your calvary into two groups and use them to force the enemys armys to give chase in all directions dividing the light troops medium troops and heavy troops from each other since each troop moves at a different speed they naturally seperate themselves into their own groups. once the enemy army has been divided and seperated on the battlefield you regoup your calvary before the enemy can regroup and smash into the light infantry or archers first or whichever target that is weak enough for you to attack with minimal losses, once youve picked off enough of the enemys army you can try to take out the enemy commander to break morale at this point the enemy army usually flees allowing you to chase down the rest who are fleeing. since your troops move faster your able to divide the enemy army up and pick your battles. divide et impera. the only time this strat dosent work is if your facing an enemy army made up entirely of calvary or horse archers cough cough that pesky ghenghis khan, and sometimes you need to keep arty in reserve incase the enemy tries to setup in a defensive position you hold uour advantage bring in the arty and pick them off from afar until they try to engage you in the open field then you repeat the horse tactic. the way to defeat the khan horde is to lure them into a defendable mountain pass where the horses have no room to maneuver and crush their main armys there or force him into a seige battle where they have to fight hand to hand. last but not least you can always just make the enemy chase you around the battlefield till they get tired their morale drops then they flee.
I mean, jaguars are South American jungle creatures, so if you put one in the middle of the savannah it would probably be so confused that you wouldn't even need to ambush them to get the drop on them.
My disaster situation and the ambush was only because I was hoping to be able to auto resolve this battle out (if he came at me) alas no luck so had to fight it anyway. Legend did this so impressively well it's astonishing my forces are virtually undamaged.
hmmm bit sad I had what I considered to be a somewhat interesting savefile recently. I had a stegadon doomstack attacked by 2 empire armies one of which had like 8 steamtanks couple of luminarks and in total there were like 8 demigryph knights hellbards with suprisingly good other troops. I failed the battle twice allthough I got close in the end I had considered sending it in but retreating from the initial attack actually was able to solve this one as I was able to face the two armies each on their own
I ambushed valkia earlier with alith anar. Could not even come close to winning it, flesh hounds just instantly close the distance and shadow warriors go down so damn fast
Mods are a double-edged blade, i like some, but with every update, the risk of them not working means i currently only use the Unofficial Bugfix which i do not consider to be a "mod". Shame the Unique Faction UI is broken since 5.2, i like that mod a lot.
Yea... i had scenario like this in warhammer 2 with tomb kings against full cav brettonia stack, the way i won was by cheesing ai, i would move my lord close enough to trigger 1 or 2 units to chase him then baiting them into archer volleys... i dont know why it didnt trigger the ai to advance, but heck... i ended up winning without ammo and having archers in melee in the end
just had a similar battle with arkhan against him, he had 4 skullcannons and 10 units of the khorne mortal cavalry... the only thing that carried the fight was them bunching up for my two caskets of souls to obliterate them

Skar "you are locked in here with me" Brand.
Pure strategic genius.
> win batttle on impossible odds
> "well, we took a bit of damage"
I love this type of content
Ambush? Oh, you mean you come to my axes more quickly!
Nice, early to a legend video
Wow... I am amazed he can win these battles.
That went insanely well.
Wtf!!! Wow dude. Never seen Skarbrand disrespected like that
always good watching someone on cocaine and speed playing total war
Random recommendation but a pretty fun watch!
This man is a Legend
*THE Legend
Ambushing Khorne is like trying to ambush a jaguar in the middle of the savannah.
Someone needs to call Robute Gulliman.
hmmm bit sad I had what I considered to be a somewhat interesting savefile recently. I had a stegadon doomstack attacked by 2 empire armies one of which had like 8 steamtanks couple of luminarks and in total there were like 8 demigryph knights hellbards with suprisingly good other troops.
I failed the battle twice allthough I got close in the end I had considered sending it in but retreating from the initial attack actually was able to solve this one as I was able to face the two armies each on their own
That was amazing
Why can’t the angry mummy and the angry daemon get along with eachother instead?
That was artful.
I ambushed valkia earlier with alith anar. Could not even come close to winning it, flesh hounds just instantly close the distance and shadow warriors go down so damn fast
That was awesome. Stud.
Why is Settra sexier when played by an Aussie? PS. Exactly how you fight Vlad. Works well!
Trying to emulate this degree of micro fails so hard for me every time
Mods are a double-edged blade, i like some, but with every update, the risk of them not working means i currently only use the Unofficial Bugfix which i do not consider to be a "mod".
Skarbrand love being given free punching skeletons
When mice ambush a cat.
just had a similar battle with arkhan against him, he had 4 skullcannons and 10 units of the khorne mortal cavalry... the only thing that carried the fight was them bunching up for my two caskets of souls to obliterate them
Settra the Perishable
