Welcome to the world of Farnsy! There are so many amazing live performances of his. Black Dog and Help have to be on the top of the list. Enjoy the journey discovering his plethora of hits.
When I tell you, you should always watch a live version when it comes to John, I am totally serious. Watch this one, live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will knock your socks off, and drums for days. Oh, and in the '80's, everyone in Australia had a mullet 😂.✌❤
Hey Steveo, you definitely need to check out the videos of John with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra singing his version of The Beatles 'Help', 'You're the voice', ACDC's 'Long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll'. John also does an amazing version of Led Zeppelin's Black Dog. John also has hit songs going back to the 60's. 'Sadie the cleaning lady', 'Touch of paradise', 'Pressure Down', 'Playing to win', 'Two of hearts', 'Angels', 'That's freedom', 'Burn for you'; his duet with Jimmy Barnes 'When something is wrong with my baby' is a must (i love the classic black and white music video) ... and I could go on. Hugs from Oz
John had this song set especially for the Bagpipes (which keys at B flat) Always catch him live where you can as his stage craft and crowd control is amazing
Thank you for finding Farnsie! He is much loved in Australia and for good reason. He can sing anything!!! Please play more. There great suggestions in the comments x
John Farnham's live performances are required viewing for all those who truly appreciate great singing. He is a master of his craft - one of the best in the world 🎉🎉🎉
John farnham is one of the best male singers of all time and master of every music genre there is. He is actually better live , and that says a lot about his greatness. His stage presence and vocal range makes him uniqe. ❤ you have just open pandoras box.
Word of advice young Steven. Our legendary John Farnham is best listened to live. You must check out Johns version of The Beatles song ‘Help’ with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. I guarantee it’ll blow you away. Great reaction as always, Steven. ❤️🇦🇺
Check out John with Olivia Newton John "please don't ask me" ......for the best do JOHN live---- it takes your breath away------your goosebumps will get goosebumps!! .....Check out his cover of "HELP" with the Melbourne Orchestra-----LIVE!!!
You need to check out Farnsey's version of Black Dog, he used to warm up and do sound checks with this song. The recording out there was actually a sound check performance. He has one of the most versatile voices out there, he's even done opera.
Farnham's voice is magnificent in this track - as in every track he sings - but you HAVE to see and hear him live to appreciate just how talented he is ❤ Definitely worth another reaction 😊
Agree with everyone on John Farnham is a must with live performances. But please check out he and his amazing band doing Led Zeppelins “Black dog”! They used this as their sound check/ warm up song. Thankfully the sound engineer hit record one day! ❤❤
What ever u reacting here is cool... And John can do that also live... "Burn for u", "age reason"... no matter what... That what i call a giant/titan... however. Thanks for reacting!
You HAVE to do John Farnham LIVE! He's my favorite singer ever & I'm not even Australian! I'm his biggest little old American fan! He IS "The Voice"...period! He's still in my prayers! Haven't heard any updates on his condition in awhile!😊
Sadly the surgery left him unable to open his mouth very far, t hurts too much to try, so he's hiding away with his wife and his horses, unlikely to sing again, but what a body of work to look back on!
@@kathleenmayhorne3183 I'm glad he's okay but it breaks my heart for him! He's always been a beautiful person, inside & out! Thank you so much for your reply!😊🤗
You got 5000 other comments saying the same thing, but you really have to check out the live version with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - you really get an appreciation for his voice. Then the same concert with his rendition of “Help” - literally mind blowing. Another one for some fun is “Playing to Win” performed live at another concert - really cool upbeat number with some cool on-stage antics.
Love your reaction to our fabulous John echo others comments about live performances but appreciate your appreciation ❤❤❤definitely check out help with the melbourne symphony orchestra live of course 😊
Go The Aussie Army!! Always here for The Voice singing The Voice!! 🫡😍👍❤❤ Epic is right! Goosebumps for me every time I hear this song. Love ya Farnsey!! 🥰 Thank you so much for reacting to this song. I hope you will listen to more. This man is a legend 😉❤️❤️
You just had a taste of John Farnham, but restricted to an original song release video. The only way to listen to John Farnham is LIVE. His concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra where he sings You're The Voice, but also does a complete remake and makes it his own of the Beatles song HELP. If you thought his voice was great in this video, you will find his voice in LIVE performances - extraordinary.
You won't be disappointed if you check out more John Farnham - Iive performances only please - and you'll have a lot more Aussies checking out your channel too! 🐨 🇦🇺 🦘
I love your reaction to our Farnsey. He is an absolute legend in Australia. It's so very hard to pick just one John Farnham song to recommend. He has hundreds of songs in many different genres (he can sing anything) and they are all incredible. Live is always the way with John. His studio versions are amazing, but on stage, he shines. If you want to hear growl and grit, it's gotta be live with John. Let's see.....I'd love you to react to 'WHEN THE WAR IS OVER' live from the Whispering Jack concert, or 'HELP' live from the Classic Jack concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, or 'ALL OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS' live from the Chain Reaction concert or all of the above lol. Then I'll recommend more. The John Farnham rabbit hole is deep, and will give you the greatest joy, pleasure and entertainment. Welcome to the world of our Aussie goat!!!!
You’re The Voice released in 1986 was ahead of time when recording samples , specially in Australia. John was flat broke financially he’s manager finance these recordings at this time . But they recorded this without putting a drummer on the payroll. The drums are an actual car door being just slammed shut record on loop . * You’re The Voice is totally universal within its meaning it’s up to the listeners interpretation .
Great reaction. Two suggestions for future John Farnham reactions. 1. Always look for live performances. 2. Keep an eye on John's microphone and stand. That being said, I would love to see your reaction to John's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog". He never sang it live but would sing it as a warm-up/sound check. One time a sound engineer had the foresight to record it. There is no video footage but a copy of the audio is on UA-cam.
The bagpipes fits so good in this song and adds so much. This song is a really great song. And yeah we should not look at eachother down the barrel of a gun. I hope for world peace one day. Probably wont happend during my life time but we should aim for it.
Hi but great reaction, but I’m sure you will keep hearing to watch any live performances of John as they are the best. From Australia. Enjoy the John ride and backing form Oz.
Always watch John’s performances live.He is a phenomenal voice and entertainer. Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra he also does AC/DC ‘s It’s a Long Way to the Top and his version of the Beatles “Help” .We love John and every genre he can do , you will soon know why! Love your channel.🫶🇦🇺✌️
When reacting to John always do the live versions, especially with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. They are better than the studio ones and have more impact because John always gives 110% in his concerts. If you watch this song with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra you will see what I mean. Spectacular. His audiences inspire him to the next level.
This song relaunched a flagging Australian career, it also took him internation - BIG TIME - this went nuts in Europe. His credentials skyrocketed, and someone everyone wanted to record with. - yes this was an anthem, every 80s Aussie backpacker, had this on their play list, along with "down under", "long way to the top", "eagle rock", "am I ever gonna see you face again"
🇬🇧 This song was HUGE back in the 80s. Now SteVen, you just HAVE to do a reaction to John doing a duet with Jimmy Barnes (also from Australia, & youve already reacted to him) singing "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". Its FABULOUS, nor will you be disappointed. 👌🎼♥️🫂
John singing this live with Cold Play, you get to see John's command of an audience his love of what he does and the Aussies love of John down through the generations
After you do his version of help with the orchestra, Watch him with his old mate Jimmy Barnes, they did a Sam and Dave song, from US history, When Something is Wrong with My Baby. He did a great version of Amazing Grace, with his singers, Vanetta Fields And Lindsay Field. His piano player David Herschfelder went on to compose arrange and perform Movie music, and won awards too. One day the techies rolled tape on his sound check, Deep purple's Black Dog. No video but wow! He has proved he could sing anything. JC Superstar, Gethsemane, sunday, last night.
I've never heard this song nor seen this video before today but I was raised by people who believed what this song is saying. This is what the 60's was all about - supporting the Common Good for All Americans no matter their race, heritage, religious beliefs or lack thereof. Back then, we all understood the fact that when "everybody does better" EVERYBODY DOES BETTER and that was the whole point of choosing democracy in the first place way back in 1776. The thing about politics and politicians is: Talk is cheap. What have you *done* lately to support the Common Good? That's the reason a politicians voting record is public information. :D At least, it *used* to be...
You need to react to John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes(from Australian rock band Cold Chisel) singing their version of Sam & Dave 1966 classic When Something is Wrong With My Baby, check out the live performance from the 1991ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards.
The lady in the video at the dinner table played Bradley Cooper's mother and Robert de niros wife in Silver Linings Playbook. The man is a famous australian journalist and tv host who was also a politician.
Written by a Manfred Mann band member & 2 others as an anti nuclear war song. When the Berlin Wall still existed & both sides had nuclear weapons aimed at each other. Looking at each other down the barrel of a gun. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) was the acronym
I'll just get in line and suggest the cover of the Beatles HELP live with the Melbourne Symphony. John Lennon once said Farnham's take on the song was how The Beatles should have done it but the record company wanted a pop song....
John's cover of "Its a long way to the top" Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra has such a great vibe. Watching everyone including the conductor having fun is a blast!!
You need to listen to John Farnham live - he'll blow your mind. Also, check him out with Jimmy Barnes and Diesel - When something is wrong with my baby.......there's not a John song you won't love, it's why we love him so much down here in Aus
Just like many others said, always go with live version. While the studio versions are great, live is where the real magic happens. Live is where John just let loose and gives 200% everytime. Help (Beatles cover) with Melbourne symphony orchestra, When the war is over from 2003, Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar rock oper, Angels with his long time back up singer Lisa Edwards from 2000, Grenada with oper singer Anthony Warlow, When something is wrong with my baby with Jimmy Barnes, Black dog Led Zeppelin cover (a warm up song and luckily the sound tech pressed the record button), It's a long way to the top with Melbourne symphony orchestra (AC/DC cover) just to name a few... the list is long and you won't find a bad or even average performance. John really is one of a kind and he will blow you away
My man the people have spoken 😂 I’m actually glad you checked out the studio version- I do audio remastering as a hobby and I know quality is important to you! The only decent live version of You’re the Voice on UA-cam is on my channel (HD, 4K and it’s the full live Version with the Symphony Orchestra )- all the others are 480p or worse- you can’t hear the instrumentals well and the start of the song is missing! So if you decide to ever do the live version- look for my one.
Love to see you doing more John, but please always do him live, as unlike most vocalists, he sounds far, far better that way. You can only truly get an appreciation of why he's loved so much by watching live. Here's You're the Voice with the MSO as it should be listened to 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/8voNPJmp1ww/v-deo.html
DO NOT listen to this track while driving... Unless you're in Aus. True story: I was and got pulled for speeding, said 'Sorry mate' to the cop, 'Farnsey... The Voice...' and he said 'Yeah... Understood... Now F-off and be more careful next time'. He's a legend here and everyone gets it...
John also does a rock ballad of The Beatles classic song Help, from the Classic Jack Concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. This is the same concert you need to react to You're The Voice. For something completely different, you might want to react to John Farnham singing Gethsemane from the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar the musical; you'll understand the ability of this Australian music icon, much more.
John is 100% better viewed live, always!!! The live version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is so, so much better than this studio version! “Help” from that same concert is also worth you delving into, as it is phenomenal! John was always much more dynamic in a live setting…he fed off the audience, the audience responded, John upped the ante, the audience went mental….circular response all round!! ❤ This song was released in 1986 as a protest against nuclear arms and war in general. 38 years later the message from this song resonates as strong as ever!!! ❤ This song and the album was produced at a very high cost and risk for Glenn, John and everyone involved…a last ditch effort to revive John’s 20+ year career and paid off beyond anyone’s expectations. John is ‘The Voice” of Australia!!! This song has now become the unofficial Aussie anthem. Our John may no longer be able to sing since his treatment for mouth cancer, but then again, he was still as strong a vocalist as he ever was prior to surgery. He will always be in the annals of Aussie music history and forever in our hearts. ❤ Not to mention that John is a humble man, a real Aussie “bloke” (though he is technically English by birth), a man you could be friends with without any qualms. John is a man who gave up a real chance at international stardom in his heyday, although he’d been a mainstay in Aussie music for well over 20 years when Glenn Wheatley put every single dollar (including his house) on the line to produce the Whispering Jack album for John, John still chose family first. John chose to stay here at home with his family because he didn’t like the terms the US record companies set and what that would mean for him and his family on a personal level. This is why the man will always have Aussies hearts in his back pocket!! ❤ John’s vocal ability was beyond the pale, he could sing any genre and nail it every single time. ❤ As an extra….check out the Firefight Australia concert from 2020 with John, Olivia Newton John, Brian May and Mitch Tambo.
This song was a banger. I think this is all the world knows him for but Farnham is a bit of a legend in Australia. I've never understood what the Rambo lookalike was doing in the vid lol but it was a great vid.
Rambo look alike is Brett Garsed. He was into power lifting back then and that’s just how he looked. Although he might be a bit self conscious looking back on it now he’s in his 60s. He was a stalwart of the John Farnham band for decades, except for a stint in the US. Still would be if John hadn’t fallen ill.
@@Kaz54650 Good to know. That's for the background info. I was just teasing. I can only wish I had such a legacy to look back on and get a bit embarrassed about. We all looked a bit dodgy back then, if I recall lol.

This has to be seen LIVE with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra , its a epic video
Rule no. 1,2&3 with John Farnham. Always live! His performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is epic.
John singing anything LIVE will blow your mind!
If you want goosebumps watch the live performance with the Melbourne symphony orchestra.
Please always listen to John Live the One with the Melbourne symphony orchestra is incredible his concerts are always the BEST ❤❤❤
Welcome to the world of Farnsy! There are so many amazing live performances of his. Black Dog and Help have to be on the top of the list.
Enjoy the journey discovering his plethora of hits.
That's why we call him The Voice in Australia. He is a national treasure! ❤
When I tell you, you should always watch a live version when it comes to John, I am totally serious. Watch this one, live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will knock your socks off, and drums for days. Oh, and in the '80's, everyone in Australia had a mullet 😂.✌❤
Definately watch Johns live concerts so much more to experiance, Jphn is just GOAT!
Your the first reviewer I have seen that uses speakers. I like to feel the air move.
💯
He’s much better LIVE!
The message in this song, the performance by Farnsey, the bagpipes and the drums which sound like a heartbeat 🥁is everything 🇦🇺❤️
John Farnham could sing the phone book and make it sensational!
Thank you for finding Farnsie! He is much loved in Australia and for good reason. He can sing anything!!! Please play more. There great suggestions in the comments x
John Farnham's live performances are required viewing for all those who truly appreciate great singing. He is a master of his craft - one of the best in the world 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for that reaction. John is the Voice❤
John farnham is one of the best male singers of all time and master of every music genre there is. He is actually better live , and that says a lot about his greatness. His stage presence and vocal range makes him uniqe. ❤ you have just open pandoras box.
You have to watch the live version with the Melbourne orchestra.
You MUST watch him LIVE! 💚🇦🇺
You need to check out Farnsey's version of Black Dog, he used to warm up and do sound checks with this song. The recording out there was actually a sound check performance. He has one of the most versatile voices out there, he's even done opera.
You must watch "help" with the Melbourne symphony orchestra live performance
Watch John live. He’s awesome.
Farnham the GOAT! One of the top three voices you ever heard. Bad notes-none. exceptional always. His range is unbeatable
Farnham's voice is magnificent in this track - as in every track he sings - but you HAVE to see and hear him live to appreciate just how talented he is ❤ Definitely worth another reaction 😊
Amazing song, great singer, lyrics are emotive, and the bagpipes!!! We need more bagpipes in modern music!!
his version of this live at the ARIAS is absolutely amazing, and his rendition of the Beatles Help will give you goosebumps on goosebumps
Agree with everyone on John Farnham is a must with live performances.
But please check out he and his amazing band doing Led Zeppelins “Black dog”!
They used this as their sound check/ warm up song. Thankfully the sound engineer hit record one day! ❤❤
He’s even better live! Check out Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra…it’s epic
That’s what I keep hearing! 😁
What ever u reacting here is cool... And John can do that also live... "Burn for u", "age reason"... no matter what... That what i call a giant/titan... however. Thanks for reacting!
There's a reason he's known as "the voice"
@@Rastusmishka12 🔥🔥
John Farnham is amazing but “The Voice” belongs to Steve Perry
Thank you for reacting to John Farnham, a phenomenal voice!
Great reaction and thoughts! Yes, he is indeed a Aussie legend!
You HAVE to do John Farnham LIVE! He's my favorite singer ever & I'm not even Australian! I'm his biggest little old American fan! He IS "The Voice"...period! He's still in my prayers! Haven't heard any updates on his condition in awhile!😊
He is doing well. He just released his memoir and voiced the audiobook. It's called 'the voice inside'. It's so lovely to hear his voice again. ❤
Sadly the surgery left him unable to open his mouth very far, t hurts too much to try, so he's hiding away with his wife and his horses, unlikely to sing again, but what a body of work to look back on!
@@Jojomac-ix7oi Thank you so much for letting me know!😊🤗
@@kathleenmayhorne3183 I'm glad he's okay but it breaks my heart for him! He's always been a beautiful person, inside & out! Thank you so much for your reply!😊🤗
I'm a bit strange! I watch "reaction" video's to hear the reaction to great music like this. How good is our John.
Unbelievable talent!! 🔥🔥
John Farnham is a Legend! Love his music. Went to 2 of his concerts!! Absolutely fantastic!!
Thanks so much for reacting to our John and your appreciation of him❤
Such an incredible voice!! 🔥
Amazing vocalist and a great showman!
Enjoyed your reaction. This came out in 1986. The band Heart covered this song in 1991. Their version is pretty dang cool, but this one is the best.
Johns live version ( with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) of It's A Long Way To The Top is a must see.
Love your reaction to our fabulous John echo others comments about live performances but appreciate your appreciation ❤❤❤definitely check out help with the melbourne symphony orchestra live of course 😊
You need to react to his live performances- especially the concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra . He is truly incredible live.
Help ,,, the Beatles song he covered it live in Melbourne , good one to check out !!
Go The Aussie Army!! Always here for The Voice singing The Voice!! 🫡😍👍❤❤
Epic is right! Goosebumps for me every time I hear this song. Love ya Farnsey!! 🥰
Thank you so much for reacting to this song. I hope you will listen to more. This man is a legend 😉❤️❤️
Congratulations on unlocking the GOAT.
you should check out John Farham's cover of Help (live with the melbourne symphony) by the beatles. Amazing.
great song SHS thank you
Thanks for watching! 😁
You have to check it out with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It’s epic
You think he's good here...he's even better live!
Check out his cover of Help (by the Beatles) with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
More mullets than a fish co-op!!
😂🤣😂
He is the Voice. Australias national hero. Checkout the live version he did at his concert in Germany. John is 75 now lol 🇦🇺
🇬🇧
This song was HUGE back in the 80s. Now SteVen, you just HAVE to do a reaction to John doing a duet with Jimmy Barnes (also from Australia, & youve already reacted to him) singing "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". Its FABULOUS, nor will you be disappointed. 👌🎼♥️🫂
It HAS to be the video from "Hey, Hey! It's Saturday!" THE very best video of it!😊
@@usmadgirl3074Absolutely👍
Such a great message. ❤
The live version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is the version to watch.... as is the rest of this live concert !
Please watch the live concert. This is great but it’s the live version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra that’s mind blowing.
Hi man, everyone will tell you to watch his live performances. Love the review.
Bro, keep doing you. Your channel is awesome, it’s super refreshing to see a dude so open and accepting of all forms of music. Rock on dude! 🤘
Really appreciate that man and thanks for hanging out! 🤘🏻
A big Aussie anthem.
With John all the lives are the best cos he is more of a beast live. Please do the Teskey brothers you won’t regret it
DO NOT listen to this track while driving...
Soooo Good! You should check out David Phelp's version!
This song was released in 1986 as a protest against nuclear arms and war in general.
Haha 😂 Definitely a phenomenal talent and I can’t wait to check out more!
Oh you’re not wrong, Brett’s nickname was Rambo back then. He’s on UA-cam and drops into reaction threads from time to time, seems to be a really nice guy. If you are into guitar his solos over the years are well worth a look.
I know you've reacted to Jimmy Barnes quite a few times, so now you have to check out jimmy and John together - when something is wrong with my baby.
John farnam and Jimmy barnes when something is wrong with my baby, I know u love jimmy also
We Aussies can look down the barrel with out fear. I've seen one or two barrel's, nicked a bit so our deadly animals ha ha ha ain't nothing but a thing. OZ LIFE.
Do yourself a favour and watch John's live version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, there is nothing that compares.
What everyone else said. If you think this was good...then you must check out a live version. John Farnham live is not just good, its phenominal
